I was so excited when I found a RipCurl store at the shops in Wailea. I purchased 3 pairs of RIP CuRL shorts and 2 RipCurl teeshirts. I tried the shorts on and all were a great fit. I tried on one of the RipCurl tees, size XL, and it fit good, so I picked another XL teeshirt. I did not actually try it on because it was also an XL. When I got back to the condo in Kihei, I cut tags off and got them ready for wearing. The next morning, I put on the XL and it was too small. I tried on the other XL and it fit fine. I noticed a tear right away in the seem of the shirt that fit, so we took them back. The receipt/return policy clearly states that refund or exchanges are OK with receipt. When we tried to return them, Jessica and two other employees stated that the manager said they smell and the tags were removed, so they would not exchange or refund. We were confused about "smell", as my wife and I smelled them and they smelled like new store merchandise. We did not wash or wear them, and only tried them on. My wife asked to speak to district manager. The district manager reluctantly approved the exchange. RIP Curl is supposedly a reputable brand, but if they will not stand behind their products, we will not shop there again. WARNiNG to all Rip Curl shoppers at Wailea Shops... DONT SHOP here... Rip Curl does not care about repeat business, value of their product, and has ZERO business integrity. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. read more

I was looking for hats and the selections they had were too good so I didn't get any because I liked all of them. Good air conditioning because it was really hot outside and it was cold inside of there. Good store sad they closed the quicksilver next door. read more

This Asian American had wonderful treatment - actually went to the store 2+ times (a third time on front street). Greeted kindly by white, blond haired salesgirl who offered assistance. Went to Front Street bought a shirt. Went back to this location and they let us exchange it. No problems. This time, was helped by two AANHPI salesmen. Super helpful and kind as well. By the way, I have children who are blonde hair, blue-eyed, Asians. Don't judge a cover. Love ripcurl. read more

Rating the service/ impression only. (Note: I am Filipino) I walk into rip curl and the caucasian girl working at the front didn't say anything to me. If anything she kinda just watched me/ my husband (also Filipino) walk in. I actually dont care about being greeted so I said "hi" and continued to browse. But then a caucasian couple walk in a few mins after me and then suddenly "hi welcome in!" like super excited. Every group of caucasian guests that walked in after us were greeted. They even offered to help them. Weird because now there are a total of like 6 ppl in the store and we were definitely ignored. I go back a few hours later to purchase the thing I wanted (it was big so I didn't want to walk around with it while shopping). I walk in and the two girls at the front stared at me as I walked in. We are the only 4 ppl in the store now. Nobody said anything haha. I thought the second caucasian girl was a customer but it turns out she also worked there. Both paused their convo to watch us walk in. I made my purchase anyway. I just felt like I wasn't seen. I already have that problem with the bathroom soap dispenser and don't need that anywhere else. Over the last few years Ripcurl has been producing amazingly beautiful casual surf inspired clothing for women and men. Their eye catching designs in Men's tees, shorts and jackets is starting to have more appeal vs. Quiksilver in my opinion. You won't find surf boards here so it's not really a surf shop.... but they do sell a wide variety of cutting edge surf clothing, bikinis, flip flops, rash guards, sunglasses and surf accessories. First time visiting this store and sad to say it was a terrible experience. My fiancé and I felt like we were a bother when we walked in. Worker was by the register and didn't even look up at us. My fiancé felt awkward being there, but I really like rip curl because I know their brands fits me well so I wanted to shop longer. I've been in customer service for over 10 years so I know how it is. We entered around opening time so thought maybe she wasn't "up" yet so let the uncomfortableness slide. Super unhappy with the store. Found a bathing suit that I liked after searching for about an hour. The bathing suit had two tags on it which was odd with two different prices. I assumed it was a discounted price and an original price 69$ and $109. Took it to the register I found out that the price was actually the higher of the two prices and that it was miss labeled. Typically when you make a mistake and miss label an item with an actual tag the store honors that price. All the swimsuits were mislabeled. I'm not shop here again. Bad service. read more

Another shop close to Wailea, to grab any beach gear that you may need. Quiksilver and Rip Curl were cool enough, but preferred the small shop feel of High Tech out in Kihei. This was just closer for quick purchases. read more

They have a TON of fun shirts, beach/surf wear, flip-flops, hats, etc. What they don't have? A good return/exchange policy. Be careful before you buy because it's yours, to have and hold 'til death due you part. Sounds melodramatic, I know, but cute stuff nonetheless. read more

I visited Rip Curl hoping to find a watch I really like. One of the store employee named Montanna kindly greeted me and asked if I had any questions. I have been a fan of Ripcurl for about twenty years but never again. The customer service has taken a nosedive. I took a wetsuit in for minor repairs and was given a four to five week window to get it back. After three weeks I went back and inquired about when it would be returned. I was assured it would be back in two weeks. As I was supposed to leave for a surf weekend with friends, once again I stopped into the SC store and asked about my wetsuit. I didn't get it back in time and missed the trip. I continued to drop into the store asking for updates. After nine (yes, nine) weeks I got angry and drove to the repair location and told them to just give me my suit back. They couldn't find it, saying I would get a phone call when they located it. I was less than ten minutes away when I got that call and immediately turned around. Turns out they hadn't touched it in those nine weeks but it only took them those ten minutes to deem it unrepairable. It took nine weeks to spend ten minutes inspecting the suit??? Seriously poor service. Never again will I purchase a wetsuit let alone even a tee shirt. Save yourself massive amounts of frustration and get another brand!! read more

Ripcurl in Wailea was where I purchased a nice waterproof watch for Maui, some classic sunglasses and my first GoPro with accessories! Rachel and Brady were both very helpful when making decisions on what to purchase. They definitely made my big purchase experience run smoothly. I am grateful for Ripcurl at Wailea and will return in the future. The wetsuits are also super cute! They run in mostly 2.2 mm for ladies which works for Hawaiian Island water but a little thin for California water. If I could buy the whole store I would because all items are hip and very beachy! read more

I came in looking for a wetsuit that was in an ad displayed in the store. They didn't have it on the floor, so I asked a female employee standing behind the counter if they had any in the back. She said they didn't. I asked if she could see if the store in Lahaina or Huntington Beach had the wetsuit. She told me that I should "just go look." I asked if she could call the two stores, but then she claimed she had no idea what wetsuit I wanted. I pointed to the display and she said "I have no idea what that is." I was the only one in the store. She was doing absolutely nothing behind the counter. But she didn't even want to see the suit, let alone look it up on the store's computer. If she knew they didn't have the wetsuit in the back, how did she all of a sudden not know what wetsuit I wanted to buy? I've never been treated so dismissively by an employee. If you don't want to do your job and help a customer who wants to buy something, find another job. **A young gentleman at the Rip Curl Lahaina store didn't have any in stock, but he was able to tell me that Rip Curl Huntington Beach had 3 in my size. read more
