But the quality of bar b Que here is okay not great. I'd also say Smokey John's bar b Que or Dickey Bar-B-Que is better than this but it was a great adventure to somewhere completely new to us and the staff was extremely friendly! The ribs were huge and smoked not a lot of seasoning and I love seasoning. I ordered brisket bites and they were okay not my fav and I prob wouldn't order them again but try something else. Really it's one of those hole in the wall places that might surprise you. We went for the company not so much the food. I was looking forward to some BBQ and figured any place in the stockyards would be tasty. I got the shopped brisket sandwich and fried okra and was highly disappointed. I did ask the server if she recommended chopped or shaved and her opinion was shaved since chopped reminded her or a sloppy Joe which I usually like and was sharing with a toddler so I went that route. It was very dry and bland. I paid extra to upgrade to okra which was a let down too as it was super burnt and therefore dry. I will say the appetizer sampler was delicious. The corn and the cheese curds were the favorites. My 7 year old nephew got bottomless ribs which looked super bare (and he ordered 3 plates) but they were bottomless and apparently really good so take that as you will. While I normally would give these cats a decent review, todays meal merits nothing more than one star. Between the family and I, we got a chopped brisket sandwich basket, and Brisket Plate, and a Beef Ribs basket. The chopped beef was good, as always. The brisket was tasty, albeit a little dry, but since it was delivered, no one to blame but myself. The beef ribs however, were a fucking tragedy. As far as the size goes, wow. Four whole beef ribs, with a side, for $11. The flavor??? Absolute garbage. The meat was bone dry, with almost no smoke ring. There was decent pull back from the bones, but it's blatantly obvious these ribs were started on the smoker and finished, badly, in an oven. (As someone who adopted bbq as a hobby when Covid first hit hard, I've smoked my share of beef ribs, and even the ones I failed on were better than this. That's how bad these were.) I literally couldn't eat them. Four bites in and I had to go vomit them up, they were that bad. My mouth was like "these aren't bad... they aren't GREAT, though..." and my stomach said "NOPE. Throw away the extra bread. Riscky's has changed the onion rings again. This time it is the best change ever. I must say they are wonderful tasting onion rings. Im not even joking when I say this is the worst food I've had in ages. There are so many really solid bbq places around, so don't waste your money here. I'm honestly mad we spent close to $50 on this "food". I'm not even sure I'd classify it as BBQ. Putting bbq sauce on something doesn't make it bbq. Looking back, we should have asked for a refund when our food arrived at the table. It was clearly all frozen and microwaved. The "burnt ends" were completely inedible and tasted sour, the "smoked turkey" was a frozen mushy joke, and the sides were simply sloppy mush and tasteless. Oh god, and the banana pudding... NASTY. It all looked/tasted like one of those Hungry Man frozen dinners, only those legit taste better. I joked with my husband that the best thing on the plate was the pickle spear, but that's no lie. While we were sitting there, we kept seeing employees come out of the walk in freezer holding bags of freezer burned food, the manager looking at it with them, and then them walking it into the kitchen to cook. Just nasty. I can't stress enough that nothing is fresh or even made in the same month you'll be eating it. We also kept overhearing employees trash talking customers in the drive through. SO unprofessional and tacky. My husband and I are massive bbq fans, and we literally ate a few bites and threw it all away. We went to run errands right afterwards, but of course we both felt sick within the hour and had to rush home. We live off of 26, and now every single time we drive by this restaurant, we talk shit about how absolutely horrifyingly bad it was. I have no idea how there are always cars there. We figure it has to always be new people trying it for the first time, or people that get sucked in by the 5 sandwiches for $5 sign out front. Don't let it fool you! I've never had chicken that I couldn't even chew because it was so tough. When we told them about the chicken, all they said is the chicken is a "hit or miss". I have never tried Riskys in the stockyards. After hearing great things for years, I stumbled upon the location in North Richland Hills. Hungry for authentic BBQ, starving from shopping at local car lots... I whipped in the drive thru and ordered a chopped beef sandwich and fries. I really really hope I don't get food poisoning. The fries were beyond cold, almost like they sat by ice. Soggy, limp tasteless, colder than physical room temperature. Judging by texture, there is not even a heat lamp for them to dry out under. I attempted to eat the fries, but gave up. Assuming the sandwich had to be in better shape, I dug under the pickle covered fries to unwrap the sad sandwich below. This cannot be a freshly made sandwich, as I was greeted by the same radiating warmth the fries sent. Stone cold. The meat looked more like an attempted crockpot pulled beef, not a brisket bathed in rich smoked woods. Zero smoke flavor, either real or cheater from a bottle. Meat had zero texture, well, more like the texture of a well worn sponge shredded for compost. Despite my reservations, I ignored the sure signs of blasphemy brisket laying before me... what mom of multiple children gets a warm meal on the regular anyway?? Maybe this generic bun with a few slaps of soggy shredded meat will taste better than it looks. Not in this world or any other. Even warm, pretty sure the flavor of this brisket could not improve. Tasted like someone half tried making sloppy Joes, watering it down to make the sauce stretch. The meat lended itself to more of an over boiled texture rather than the smoke hugged chopped meat I expected. I took two bites. The first I assumed I just missed the meat, as the entire sandwich was delivered sideways. Second bite confirmed that it really did taste like the bottom of the pot. Honestly I have never ever had an attempt a brisket taste this bad. Ever. Even if I am spared from food poisoning, I will never stop for Risky's again. read more

I just had a meat-gasm. This place is incredible from start to finish. Very rustic outside, located in the mid-cities area, this is just their deli and not their full restaurant. But anyway, let me tell you about the second coming of meat Jesus! First off, authentic to a tee for home spun BBQ! Incredible deals, hubby and I got their two specials for today. Hubby got 2 BBQ sandwiches, a side and a medium drink for only $4.50!! I got the same deal for 1 pulled pork sandwich. The meat was so incredibly flavorful and tender and lean that I would have easily paid twice that and been very happy. I want more of their pulled pork sandwich, I could eat more right now. RIGHT NOW. Their French fries have some kind of freak-tastic seasoning that I am now addicted to and might need to seek therapy for withdrawals. We also saw someone get one of their homemade fried pies which they then refried to warm back up. It looked AMAZING and worthy of "riscking" a heart attack. Our son requested Riscky's today as a treat so we visited the Deli location. We had brisket tacos and I chose green beans as my side. The tacos are pretty different than the ones at the stockyard but still good. The order taker was fabulous and the food came quick. Very enjoyable! read more

I went in with work associates and alcohol was pushed and pushed., several times. We all ordered on separate checks. . Nobody paid attention to what each other ordered. My friend passed me one of her ribs which was horrid end inedible so I spit it out. It turns out she ordered the unlimited ribs that I had no knowledge of and the server put an extra order of ribs on my bill hoping I would not see it. I don't recommend this place. I decided to give this place a try because I'm from out of state. My experience was nothing like a real Texas BBQ. The all you can eat rib was so hard you can't even tear it with your teeth. Looks like they just toss the rib into the oven and bake it. There's no rub or fire smoke to it, just plain bake rib. I expect the meat to fall off the bone but it's hard and no flavor, Very disappointed. The wife and I have ordered takeout from this Riscky's and the one on 377 in Benbrook 3 times in the last month. Why? Because they have phenomenal BBQ, especially we like the chopped beef. Stopped in for lunch and ended up ordering 1/4 lbs each of brisket and turkey. Skipped the sides and just ate the onion/pickles they offer. I have been eating this location for years. Today I stopped to get a 1pound of sliced brisket and 6 buns for sandwiches. I get home and what the heck did I get. 1lb of sliced something but it sure is not brisket, brisket is not round. This was several slices of something round in the texture more like beef plug rather than brisket cut about a 1/2 inch thick. The sauce was ice cold and "brisket" for lack of a better word is barely warm and I only live 10 minutes away. Visited on 9-5-2020 @ 2:55pm Location was 8110 Blvd. 26 in North Richland Hills I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich and a small order of fries. The fries were about $1.5 and the sandwich was a WHOPING $9.99 Total ticket was $12.44 (ticket number 135) The fries were old, hard, and luke-warm (felt they had been sitting out for at least a half hour). The sandwich had a very bland flavor, was tough to chew, and was a poor cut of meat overall. (They put a hunk off the end of the brisket on the sandwich - this portion should have been in their chopped selection in my opinion. When a person asks for a sliced sandwich, it is presumed the meat will be "roughly" evenly sliced at about 1/8"-3/16" think, with a certain amount of consistency to it. - To get a sandwich with hunks of end-cut more than 1" think is not what I would expect in a sliced sandwich. - especially when it is so tough.) If I could get in the way-back machine, and I knew what quality of food I was going to receive, there is no way I would have spent $12.44 for it. (In fact, I would not eat it if they paid me the $12 bucks to consume it. - Yes, it was that bad) A couple of bites from the sandwich and one fork full of fries was all I needed to know, before throwing it away. To be fair - I have ate at this location several times in the past, and the food always ranged from good quality and tasty, to mediocre. (It has never had consistent quality) - This was the first time it has been this disappointing. Lastly, their sign is very misleading - they advertise 4 bbq sandwiches for $5 (granted, that is for chopped, but sheesh - I have no idea why they think their sliced sandwich rates a $10 price tag each. - I have had really tasty sliced sandwiches in this area, and they range from $7-$8 each) I always give eating places two chances before swearing off them....Hopefully, they were just having a bad day, and my next outing there will have better results. Not being a BBQ meat fan, I wanted sides. Drawback: they don't offer a veggie plate. Plus: you can order sides, and you will have leftovers. Fried pickle appetizer - amazing!
