There's something special about finding a breakfast spot that feels like it's truly part of the community, and Rise and Shine Cafe absolutely delivers on that. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm smiles and genuinely friendly service that makes you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. The atmosphere has that perfect local breakfast place charm -- relaxed, welcoming, and full of good energy. The food itself is excellent. Everything tastes fresh, flavorful, and made with care, and the portions are satisfying without being over the top. You can't go wrong with the breakfast options, but what really surprised me were the desserts. Do not leave without trying the cinnamon roll. It's soft, rich, and indulgent in the best way possible. The tres leches cake is another standout -- incredibly moist, perfectly sweet, and easily one of the best I've had anywhere. Great food, amazing service, and that true local neighborhood feel make this place a gem. This is the kind of spot you'll find yourself coming back to again and again.
Rise and Shine is my favorite breakfast spot in Mililani! A cute little restaurant that has a great menu with a dessert case if you want to take home something sweet as well! During our most recent visit, we got the corned beef hash loco moco and the sweetbread French toast with berries and whipped cream. Both were delicious! I really like their corned beef hash and how the beef is in cubes. The fried rice was good and had lots of flavor and then it all went well with the eggs and gravy! Their French toast is tasty, nothing exciting but I do like how it comes with fruit on the side. This place gets pretty packed so come early or be prepared to wait! I've also tried some of their desserts before such as the cheesecake and cake slices and those are yummy as well. A great breakfast or brunch spot with consistently good food!
I came here for a work lunch and the food and service were great! I wasn't sure what to order so our waitress recommended getting a loco moco benedict and a corned beef hash benedict. 10/10 recommend. They had lots of good dessert options too but we were too full from our meals to try anything.
I was excited to try Rise and Shine and really want to support locally owned businesses. But if I'm being honest, this experience was average. The food was not memorable and the service was slow but the wait staff was friendly. They were also flexible with substitutions, although that was also regrettable. This restaurant is extremely busy, with no reservations. Add your name to the wait list when you arrive. The restaurant is clean and almost feels like a cafeteria style setup. I would recommend staying away from their house breakfast potatoes. Large chunks of potatoes that seemed boiled with no real flavor and are not crispy...should have stuck with fries with the pastrami sandwich. No other breakfast options in the area so I can understand why they're always busy. Don't let me deter you from giving this place a try. I am just providing my honest opinion about my experience.

Hanger instantly dissolved thanks to their attentive, friendly, and quick service. I was impressed how well the staff promptly met the never ending holiday crowd with smiles and grace. Their (real kine not from a can) generously seasoned corned beef hash is a flavor blast - and one I appreciate (: For their massive banana mac nut pancakes - ask for 2 servings of their coconut syrup; you'll need it. . The place isn't anything fancy but it is a safe breakfast choice when you don't feel like cooking and don't want drive thru. cheers!
Came here for my 1st experience of Loco Moco on island. Located in a small shopping center where parking an be limited as there are many other businesses in the same lot. Not a very huge dining area and customer service was amazing. We ordered; Loco moco with white rice - rice cooked perfectly, eggs over medium was perfection, gravy was delish with the caramelized onions, half pound sirloin patty was massive but lacked flavor. Portion was huge enough to feed two people or one very hungry individual.
This has become our go to breakfast spot. The staff are always so nice, and it makes every visit feel easy and relaxed. We've tried almost all of the breakfast items and everything has been good. The chocolate chip pancakes are huge and definitely my favorite. The prices are very reasonable for the portions you get. And a small thing I really appreciate is that when you order coffee, they offer you a cup to go. Highly recommend if you want a solid, dependable place for breakfast.
Popped in for brunch on a Saturday and they were very busy right around noon however, we were still able to get a table right away. All the tables were full. Our waitress was super friendly and service was quick and great! We had three adult adults and a toddler and ordered a two stack banana Mac nut pancake, the apple chicken salad, and the corn beef hash loco moco. The food was good, but nothing was a stand out. I liked, though, that the banana macadamia nut pancakes were unique, but I personally thought the chunky nuts was a bit weird. Salad was tasty. I had high hopes for the corned beef hash loco moco, but the corned beef was not like what it should be. It was hard cubes of meat, which took away from what I was expecting. Overall, I appreciated that we got our food quickly and it was a nice brunch out, so I don't think I could give the food five stars. It was good, but not great if you know what I mean.
Met my teacher friend for breakfast. Congratulated her for retiring after 30 years of teaching. Out of two places she chose here cuz she said it had better reviews. It was the perfect place to catch up. She ordered a croissant sandwich and I had today's special, took a half kalua pig Benedict. The two male servers were very friendly with nice smiles and fast service. The restaurant had a steady flow of customers so once they brought boxes for our left overs and the bill it was a subtle way for us to end our conversation.
I came here years ago and was in the area in the morning so decided to get breakfast. I shared a veggie breakfast burrito (with added avocado) and 2 banana macadamia nut pancakes. The veggie burrito was hearty with mushrooms, spinach, cheese, potatoes, and more. It came with a side of salsa that seemed fresh, maybe made in house. The pancakes were big and thick with full slices of banana visible. There was a good amount of mac nuts and the coconut syrup added to the tropical feel. It also included a cup of various fruits which was nice and made it seem healthy haha. The service was great which is why they get 5 stars instead of 4. They checked on us often and refilled coffee and water without us asking. You can tell this is a neighborhood favorite as there were a lot of takeout orders and a constant stream of people to eat in. I definitely would come again if I am in the area!
I've been here a few times for breakfast and a couple of times just to walk in to get dessert from their window. I usually always get their veggie omelette (thankfully they let me sub the onions for Portuguese sausage) since that's my favorite from them. My favorite dessert to get to go is their lilikoi cheesecake. Every time I've been here, there was never a wait time which is nice and the staff here are always so friendly and welcoming :) maybe next time I'll be adventurous and try something different!
As many times as we've been to the North Shore, we're still discovering new favorite places to eat. We found Rise & Shine Cafe last year and put it on our "Regular Spot" list. I'm not a big fan of pancakes unless they have bananas & macadamia nuts in them...so these are a real treat, especially at THIS place! I ordered 2 Banana Macnut pancakes with fresh fruit, Hubby enjoyed another one of their Breakfast Burritos. Our server, Farin has a great personality for this job & kept our coffee cups full. Knowing how HUGE the pancakes are, I asked her to bring me a to-go box right at the start (They actually reheat in the nuker very well if you can avoid putting butter or syrup on what you take home. Had to cut one pancake in quarters to get it to fit into the box!). This is a very clean and busy cafe with a great vibe, happy staff & happy customers. The perfect breakfast place! read more

Rise N Shine in Mililani is one of those spots I want to love every time, and when they hit, they hit. First time here for breakfast and I totally recommend it. They're known for their Eggs Benedict and so I got the Blackened Cajun Salmon with Kimchee Fried Rice (an upgrade from the Breakfast Potatoes). Their service was fast and environment was cute and bright! read more

Great spot for breakfast in Mililani with a weekend line and wait to match. All of the to go orders and waiting customers can't be wrong and Rise and Shine Cafe delivers with hearty breakfast options. Love coming to this spot! Friendly staff, quick service, and YUMMY food! They even have bakery items at the front. My go-to here is the breakfast burrito and the tres leches cake (the BEST tres leches I have ever had!!!). Their pancakes are HUGE so it's better to just get one lol! Arrive early before opening if you're hoping to enjoy an early morning breakfast. This quaint restaurant does not take reservations. We arrived at 6:50 AM, given options on where to sit. All tables were occupied at 7:15 AM. First come, first serve, everyone in your party must be present. Once all tables are full, open the door on the right, write your name with requested info on sign in sheet. Wait outside to be called in. Five stars for excellent and forward thinking customer service from announcing breakfast specials, beverage refills, if we needed anything else, take out containers. All the friendly, efficient and helpful employees were on it! Today's special - Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, choice of half order 1 or full order 2 with Breakfast Potatoes. Lightly grilled English muffins topped with homemade round crab cakes, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce. Runny yolks oozed out beautifully when cut with butter knife. Loved the perfect eggs benedict! I prefer breakfast potatoes to be crispy rather than soft. Delicious seasonings had me reeling in to finish my breakfast potatoes. My mom loved her Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. My husband said the Croissant Sandwich with Portuguese Sausage and side order of Fried Rice were delicious! My son enjoyed his rice, scrambled eggs with spam breakfast. Free parking in Gateway Mililani Mauka. Need a restroom key, step outside, walk down, take a left at the corner. I'm open to returning. This is one of our favorite places to dine in for breakfast and brunch! It's so good that there's typically a wait to be seated at a table. The right door is where you check-in / sign your name on the clipboard to dine in. The staff are all friendly and have a family feel to it! It feels a little tight in the dining area, but they do their best to keep the walk ways clear and safe. Can't wait to eat here again! read more

We got their: Homemade Granola Yogurt & Fruit bowl Croissant Sandwich w/Eggs Overeasy & Portuguese Sausage Three Egg Veggie Omelet w/Breakfast Potatoes Loved everything above, especially the Granola Fruit bowl. Service was warm & friendly as usual. Go early (recommend 7am to 8am) to avoid the crowds. read more

Coming to R&S Cafe is Always a treat, especially for Sunday Ohana Brunch but they only serve Breakfast on Sundays. The staff are always amazing and always serving with Aloha. Next time ask for the Secret menu item - the "lokalgal special" - 3 egg omelet / Veggie or meat lovers / with an over easy egg and watch that yoke dance - the new "loko moko"...chef's kiss read more

Very cozy, comfortable, and popular breakfast spot. The server took care of me right away and the food came out fast. Service was awesome. My loco moco was excellent and very generous. I wanted to try their desserts but was too full. I observed what other patrons were eating and noticed the pancakes were huge. I highly recommend this place and also recommend you come here hungry. read more

Visited several times, and each time the service & food were excellent! Staff were attentive and friendly. Depending on the time, there might be a wait. However, it's definitely worth the wait! Jot your name down on the list and just cruise for a bit. Try out their loco moco eggs benedict, you won't regret it! Yum! read more

We came here for breakfast around 8:30 on a Saturday. There was no wait, we actually walked in and were seated right away. I decided to split the loco moco Benedict with my Grams, which was a really good choice because I also got the banana mac pancake. Both were absolutely incredible, the flavors that all mixed together on the Benedict and the perfect batter in the pancakes that was served with a coconut syrup. I was so obsessed with everything I ate! Our server was so friendly and checked on us very often. I didn't realize when we walked in that they had a bakery at the front, but we were so full that we couldn't get anything else. Would love to come back and try lunch! read more

Breakfast was delicious! Generous portions and great service. We didn't wait long for a party of 6 and the place is small. Located in a strip mall area close to the Starbucks and McDonald's. Ordered the fresh corned beef and it came with rice, eggs and toast. My husband ordered the corned beef Benedict and he also said it was good. My daughter ordered pancakes which was huge, she couldn't finish it. Can't remember what everyone else ordered but by the looks of it, they all liked it too and plates were cleared off. Definitely would stop in again when in the area. read more
Food and service...excellent. Came here twice in two weeks. The breakfast burrito (meat or veggie) is the perfect breakfast. Everything perfectly wrapped in the tortilla. We also had the corned beef hash (corned beef made fresh daily) and loco moco. The beef patty in the moco is tasty. Service is excellent. The staff come by to refill waters and check on the table often. For dessert...I'd highly suggest the chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. It's soooo decadent. My partner and I both ordered the local style breakfast plate with Portuguese sausage, fried rice and sourdough. Food came quick, exactly as we ordered. The food was delicious, no need for salt, pepper or Tobasco. We gobbled our food pretty fast and literally ate and left no crumbs. It gives local diner vibes in all the best ways. Our drinks were constantly filled and we were checked on regularly but not overly so. There is limited seating but people are coming and going and when we were there, around 8:45ish on a Tuesday, no one had to wait. There is a great variety in the breakfast menu so options for all! Went on a Saturday at about 10ish in the morning. We waited about 30 minutes for a table. You need to sign-in at their front door - with that information they set up your table before they call you in, so if you decide to forgo your table, let them know! It's a pretty decent sized place with elbow room. We had to wait outside and for Mililani it was a bit hot and we found shade near the side of the building to hide from the heat. Inside, the place was clean and fresh. Lots of light. With the three people manning the floor, they were efficient and their service never missed a beat. One of us had their breakfast burrito, another had the chocolate chip pancake (which was gigantic), another had their loco moco, and I had their salmon benedict. We left room for their lilikoi cheesecake which we devoured. The food was good. The service even better. Totally appreciated the servers. Looking forward to returning. read more

Daughters thought this place was great! I liked it- it was ok for me, decent breakfast spot, food prices, great service! Been wanting to try this place but they're always busy during the weekends so I'm happy we came on a weekday. We got seated fast, food came quick, cozy spot! Don't think I would come on a weekend. But if I'm in the area during a weekday I might stop by again. read more
