Dispensary Review Reveal: Rise, Bloomfield NJ - Where's the Compassion? I don't usually post like this, but I believe transparency helps others make informed decisions--especially when it comes to their health, wellness, and money. Rise Bloomfield was one of the first medical dispensaries I visited in Northern NJ. Naturally, I expected that early presence in the community to come with warmth, product knowledge, and at the very least--basic customer care. Sadly, my recent experience reminded me just how transactional and cold some dispensaries can feel. After spending a considerable amount of money on infused pre-rolls (which, by the way, didn't burn properly--not one of them), I returned to Rise with proof, hoping for a reasonable resolution. I wasn't asking for the world--just a simple store credit or exchange. Instead, I was met with a wall of resistance: three staff members jumping in to shut me down, all repeating the same line--"We don't do that. No dispensary does." It wasn't what they said as much as how they said it. No empathy. No curiosity about the issue. No attempt to make it right. It felt like I was being scolded for speaking up. Rise, I'm not here to bash. I'm here to be honest: * The environment is cold * The staff feels scripted and disengaged * There's little to no product education * And the reward system and pricing don't offer much value Cannabis is supposed to be healing. Bait and switch. I searched the website and went straight to the store. The 1/2 ounce of flower went up $20 and the edibles were not availble in the 5 minutes it took to drive there. This place is a scam and they draw you in with fake prices and figure you'll just buy because you already made the trip. Never again. DO NOT BELEIVE THE PRICES THEY SHOW ONLINE. Reminds me of the day pot was illegal and you got into a standoff with a dealer on the street. read more

All of the bud at these corporate places tastes like grow chemicals. That horrible cardboard taste. Before legalization, weed never tasted like that, probably because it was grown in soil. Sometimes they will offer products that taste cleaner, like Savvy and Binske - and then they stop carrying them. Employees, who always claim to be so helpful at these places, are never able to steer me clear of these issues, so it's trial and error. I'd rather a dispensary carry three kinds of quality flower than have to choose from a large array of bad tasting bud. read more

The store is bright and spacious. They have their own parking lot, which is helpful. They are well stocked with a large variety of products. The workers are very friendly and helpful. It tends to be crowded, but the workers keep the line moving. I have no complaints about Rise. read more

The products are a bit pricey. However, I guess they are on par with other surrounding dispensaries in the area. The service was great - very attentive employees as soon as you walk in the door. I like that wherever you turn there's someone knowledgeable there to help and/or answer any questions you may have. I was glad to catch a sale on some items - I do not know how often that takes place, but they should keep it up! It definitely sways me there opposed to other competitive places (many options), so yeah, keep those sales going, Rise! Also, there's supposedly a points system, let's ramp that up, too! I'd go again, not without still doing my due diligence in price comparison, though. Overall, it was a good first experience at this location. read more

As far as cannabis dispensaries goes this is one of the better ones in north Jersey. There's plenty of parking and the store is actually quite spacious and well setup. They have screens to order in store if you choose so or of course you can place an order online which is more convenient imo. Overall I find the actual products and the prices to be the main issues. There are a few brands that dominate the current market and to be honest they have been cutting corners with products since the launch of Jersey dispensaries. The sales are really underwhelming sometimes and they'll have products that really don't do well or are several months old on sale. My main gripe right this moment has been the concentrate selection; The prices are ridiculous ($110/G) for some rosin...is really mind blowing but it's on par with other dispensaries in NJ. I personally only ever stop by when there's a good sale, which is rare but I will say the overall quality of products is quite consistent. I'm just waiting for the day NJ turns the cannabis industry around and actually makes it worth while to shop at dispensaries because they way I see it the prices are negligently selected and the products are no where near worth the price point for the quality and process of harvesting and extracting cannabis. We've yet to see any hash products and there's very few rosin (solventless) products on shelves currently which I hope to see change in the future. read more

To any of you reading this who may be engaged in the illegal act of selling cannabis, fear not. The dispensary experience combined with astronomical prices means you should be able to sustain a living despite your legal competition. Never was this more apparent than in my visit to shit show dispensary RISE. Upon arrival you're greeted by a parking lot attendant who tells you that you can't park but you can drive around the block. Once you park you wait on line to get in. So you're at about the 40 minute mark to get in and wait on another long ass line. Sorry but not worth the 2+ hours of my life to buy way way way over priced weed. Left and called my friend. Stopped by yesterday with my mom since I wanted to be able to have a consultation for her. The parking situation was wonky. Normally you can park in the lot with ease but when I went it was blocked off. I finally found street parking after circling for a while. The line moved very quickly, really only waited for a minute or two outside. Upon entrance they scan your ID and they give you a small little welcome tutorial if it's your first time. I had to ask for a small consultation and while our guide was super nice and friendly, he didn't seem incredibly knowledgeable. I asked for something specific and they didn't have much stock or anything. I understand they just opened up and they sell out quick but quantity they had was underwhelming. I've been to dispensaries in multiple states and never experienced this. My mom left with some lozenges that aren't bad, they're slightly working for what she needs them for. I probably won't come back to this location, might give the one in Paramus a try. Definitely going to shop around a bit next time. read more

My partner and I have gone to RISE twice. The place itself is gorgeous it looks like a modern urgent care it's beautiful clean and aesthetic. They have parking which is wonderful and the inside is super modern with electronics you can use to place orders and a ton of helpful workers/attendants guiding you through your entire experience. On both our visits we purchased pre-rolls and both where lovely smooth and rolled very well. They only accept cash, the atm they have onsite has a very expensive fee of 8$ so take out cash at a atm before hand. read more

This was my 3rd dispensary that I have visited in my life. It was a completed different layout than I have experienced in Colorado and Michigan -- I believe that is due to state legislature. They have ordering screens that you order from (they do have plenty of screens to order from so there was no line). I would have preferred to be able to see the product that I was purchasing before ordering it, but that was not an option. In any case - our Bud-tenders Tiffany and Xavier were awesome. Very knowledgable about their product and completely freindly and welcoming. We also got a cute bag that if you bring back, they give you some money off your total #GoGreen! read more

I've been going to Rise literally since day 1 of legal recreational sales. They're convenient as they're in my town not far from my home. Generally it's been a good experience. However, today I ordered a five pack of Butterstuff Pre-rolls from Ozone. It came in a lovely package with separate tubes for each. However, while there were supposed to be five pre-rolls, there were only four. When I called the dispensary to let them know and see what they could do for me, they said there was literally nothing they could or would do for me. The pleasant man told me that they'd heard of boxes being completely empty. While I will likely continue to go, I will now open every box I get from them in the store in order to verify the count. I would recommend anybody doing business with Rise Bloomfield to do the same. read more

2nd time we've been here and not disappointed. Personally I don't like using the screens to order, I prefer speaking to a person who knows what they are talking about. At this visit a woman named Janette actually came out from behind her counter and helped us out getting our order straight at the screens. She was a big help, and to her Mgr who didn't like the idea of their employee coming out and actually helping a potential customer, remember what you're doing, running a retail store. Believe it or not a "service", what Janette did was what all of your employees should do, take care of your customers. RISE Bloomfield is wonderful. Staff is so knowledgeable, and very welcoming. Had a great experience there this past Sunday. Mac helped us and she was amazing. So friendly, helpful, and answered every question we had. She was very knowledgeable and gave suggestions to us, which was great. It's def an experience. Parking is a little weird because sometimes the security guard will tell you there's no spaces but there are spaces available. Once you come in you're greeted by the misfits from high school the ones that never really fit in jk No seriously it seems that way .
