My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant on our way to Étretat. It was 2PM and we…read morewere behind schedule so we decided to stop at the very next restaurant we saw. The place was packed. The waitress that greeted us spoke little English, but she was kind and patient as she explained the menu. We were able to understand enough to order a full three-course menu. She also seemed to be the only waitress for the entire restaurant so hats off to her. We had no idea what to expect, but the food cleared our expectation by a kilometer. We had already been in France for three days, but our quest to find that jaw dropping restaurant remained incomplete - that is, until we took the first bite of our appetizer here. This restaurant embodies French cuisine. Sophisticated presentation, delicious palette, romantic setting. For appetizer, my boyfriend got "la crème brulée aux asperges vertes et copeaux de parmesan" (vegetable crème brulée) and I got l'entremêlé de saumon frais mariné à l'aneth et macédoine de légumes fraiche" (a salmon dish). Both were great. If you want something warm, I'd go with the crème brulée and if you want something cold, I'd go with the salmon. For main course, my boyfriend got "le suprême de volaille aux saveurs de Normandie" (chicken) and I got "le dos de merlu patesotto au chorizo" (fish). Both were exceptionally delicious. You could tell the fish was really fresh! For dessert, we got "la palette de glaces et sorbets au coulis de fruits rouges" (ice cream/sorbet) and "l'ile flottante au pralin et sa crème anglaise" (some sort of meringue dessert). The ice cream included apple sorbet, mandarin orange sorbet, and vanilla ice cream. My favorite was the apple sorbet! The meringue dessert had a caramel drizzle and was in a pool of deliciously sweet (but not too sweet) cream. As we left, we grabbed a business card. We saw the word "sur réservation" on the card. A quick google search indicated the restaurant was reservations only. We felt both apologetic and grateful, because we would have never wanted to intrude, but we're extremely happy to know that we were welcomed regardless.
