Always greeted warmly by all the friendly staff, our white linen covered table waiting for us. Masterfully crafted drinks promptly served. The lovely, helpful waitress, Kaitie helped with our ordering off the Main and Specials menus. We started with the Antipasti Misti, delectable bite-sized morsels of cheese, meats, and bruschetta covered toasted bread. Yum! Just the thing to get the taste buds happy! It's always difficult to select an Entree because everything is, Oh So Good! Tonight, 2 had the specially prepared pounded Pork Chop with Marsala Mushroom Sauce (OMG!), Chicken Martini sauteed in Lemon White Wine Sauce, and an order of al dente Pasta with Crumbled Sausage, Broccoli Rabe and Roasted Garlic. So yesterday was my 52 birthday and I had been looking forward to my Birthday dinner for days. I had been to Risotto a few time and my favorite dish is risotto:) Yesterday was a comedy of errors. You know, those nights when a series of things just happened to go wrong. This is the first time I have ever experienced this here. A forgotten appetizer, then my dish was not completely cooked so I asked for that appetizer while I thought they were fixing my dish... well my server thought I cancelled my dish.... You get the idea. We all have these nights and I just had a week where I made a series of mistakes so I totally got it. I stayed put because dammit I wanted that Risotto! It was amazing. Everything I could have hoped for. I had the seabass special and wow! At this point my husband and I were laughing because we really thought is was funny. We could tell that Kevin and the staff felt terrible. So time for the check and I assumed the might comp my cappuccino or something. Kevin would NOT LET US PAY. I mean we don't drink so our bill was just food, but still! I have never experienced that level of ownership. The man got on his knees at our table and said please forgive us and would not let us pay I always loved that place, but now we are customers for life!!!! The food here is amazing! Locating the restaurant may present a slight challenge. However, after parking and entering, we had an amazing time. The manager warmly welcomed us, and the entire staff was exceptionally kind. The servers were attentive, sometimes refilling water even when it wasn't necessary, but it didn't distract us from our good time haha. The only factors preventing a perfect rating are the oversight in fulfilling my request for a birthday serenade for my partner and the rather challenging parking situation on-site. My girlfriend originally found this restaurant through an Instagram ad several years ago. I've since dined here a handful of times over the last few years and always walk away having had a delicious, quality meal. Risotto is one of my favorite meals (and one of my favorite meals to cook). I've had more disappointing risottos out at restaurants than I've had good ones. This restaurant hits the mark always, with well cooked, flavorful risotto, served hot. They really up the ante with their presentation - don't sleep on the table side cacio pepe! This can be served as an entree, or you can get creative and split it as an appetizer for the table. We went in for the valentines dinner and their menu was different. They did not have the cacio Pepe on the cheese wheel which was a little disappointing. We ordered the lobster pasta which was amazing but the steak Rissoto was average. The steak was cooked well to medium rare but under seasoned. Great Italian restaurant. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. We started with the eggplant rollatini. There were of two them, which was just enough for an appetizer. There was a touch too much cheese for me, but the eggplant was delicious. If you go, you have to try the cacio e pepe. It's made tableside in a wheel of romano cheese. This would have been one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had, but I think it should be served with a thinner pasta like a spaghetti or linguini. However, it was still outstanding and perfectly made. My wife also had the osso buco risotto. It was really osso buco with a side of risotto. My wife has been wanting to try this place for some time. We finally got around to making our way there. We were promptly greeted by the friendly staff and quickly seated. Menu's with specials were brought right to us. The space itself is a tad tight, but cozy, it got fairly loud when the conversation around us got going. I had a bite of her entree and it was very good. Both came with house made ribbon pasta that was cooked perfectly. The lamb ragu was rich and very flavorful. Both dishes were very filling and left no room for dessert. A few decaf cappuccino's finished off the meal. I would certainly come back and explore the menu further. Stellar birthday dinner last night start to finish. Shared fried calamari and baked clams. Show stopper with "Fire" for table side cacio d pepe which was awesome. A large cheese wheel is heated up and cognac is poured in so there are flames from the wheel, then the pasta is added and tossed around. The plate is finished off with a poached egg and basil pesto oil. It was superb. A Pork shank over saffron pea risotto was out of this world, spaghetti & clams was full of fresh steamed clams. Ended with a spectacular display of "Ice" with tiramisu. A stemware glass with dry ice lays behind the dessert and the waiter poured water into the glass and pouf a lot of smoke. A really fun dinner that offered quality food with big portions. The cappuccino's were some of the largest cups I've seen and very tasty with a nice barrister swirl. I highly recommend for a good meal and to impress your friends. The prices are very reasonable compared to other restaurants with lesser quality/quantity. BTW they have an extensive wine list served by glass or bottle. I like the pour and how they detailed the notes and bouquet of wines. read more

They had cut Christmas decorations inside the restaurant. Now to the food.... We started with the calamari and it was so good. We couldn't stop picking at it. The fresh bread to start was warm and was amazing. We also had the meat and cheese plate. This was good but the prosciutto was super fatty. For entree we had their table side cacio e Pepe. Fabulous experience at Risotto earlier this evening! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and am surprised there are any negative reviews to be honest. Perhaps the only downside is the prices are a bit high I do have to say but it is well worth the cost. Their glasses of wine are on the more expensive side as well as some of their dishes. The inside décor is fairly straight forward and modern, nothing spectacular but very clean and comfortable. I had the best Risotto I have ever had in my life by far-it was cooked to PERFECTION which I know is difficult for Risotto, not too hard and not to soft with the perfect amount of grated cheese on top in a wonderful broth. I got the Risotto with mixed vegetables and the vegetables were cooked perfectly as well. I opted to add Grilled Chicken to the top of the Risotto too which was a very generous amount of chicken also cooked perfectly, I practically licked my plate. For appetizer a friend of mine and I shared the Bruschetta which was tasty with yummy crispy bread. We also got a side of Broccoli Rabe with our dinners which had the perfect amount of garlic and oil and was cooked very well, not too stringy and very tasty. My friend had the Mushroom Risotto with the Osso Bucco which she said was fantastic-the meat fell off the bone and was cooked wonderfully. The waiter told us that every morning for over 3 hours they braise the ribs to prepare for the dinner service. Our waiter was so polite and friendly and attentive to all our needs, making sure to fill our water glasses and check-in on our dinner during the meal. You can tell it is a family run establishment and they take pride in their food and their service. We went late on a Tuesday evening so it was fairly quiet inside which afforded us great attention from the waiter since they weren't busy. We cannot wait to go back again to try some other Risotto's and their other dishes as well-what a great experience-I suggest you give it a try if you like Risotto as they have over five different varieties to choose from depending on your taste. We had the table side cacio e pepe as an appetizer for 2 and it did not disappoint. I had the pork chop as an entree and it fed me the next day as well. It was a solid chop. I came for my birthday and after ordering dessert I saw the staff gradually congregate near my table and my greatest nightmare came true, the dreaded happy birthday song, loud and in front of the entire restaurant. The dessert platter, with literal fireworks, was so nice of them. My favorite thing about the restaurant, as a curmudgeonly 40 something was the on-site parking because parking in Westchester restaurants can be a pain at times. It's very rare nowadays that one dines at a new place & it exceeds all your expectations across the board. Such is the case this past Sunday evening at Risotto in Thornwood. I'd been getting various notices (since before Covid) about Risotto via social media; some of which piqued my interest. I was intrigued by these posts & filed them away for just the right special occasion.This became our 38th wedding anniversary. Suburban restaurants can often be hit or miss & we always seem to be on the lookout for good places to dine at in Westchester. Finding great ones can be a bit like searching for the holy grail. Risotto rises right up there in our top 5 spots in the county we have dined at over the years. The place itself is relatively small, charming, & unpretentious. Luckily it was not mobbed and quiet for our early Sunday evening seating. The 2 folks who greeted us at the front of the house (whose name's escape me) couldn't have been more gracious & accommodating, which immediately put us at ease. Having perused the menu & armed with a strategic game plan before we arrived, we decided to share both an appetizer; eggplant rollatini & a main course; steak risotto with Gorgonzola, pears & walnuts. The steak risotto (which was out of this world) was not on the menu that night but because we asked for it, they were gracious enough to accommodate us. Wow like who does that!!! We paired this with a nice bottle of Gavi (bowing to my wife's preference instead of a supertuscan) The food was very fresh, well presented & absolutely delicious. The wine surprisingly held its own against this lineup. Truth be told if we knew how great the food was, we would have squeezed in another course. We topped off our 2 courses by sharing crème brûlée & cappuccino. The house made desert was scrumptious. While the cappuccino was served in the largest cup I've ever seen! The best part of the desert course was it was presented on a chocolate inscribed tray with a cup of "volcanic" smoking dry ice. Very friendly staff said if we ordered before kitchen closed we were welcome to stay as long as we wanted. They kept their word and let us have a leisurely meal and did not rush us out. I had never heard of Risotto before this but I'm excited to have found a nice Italian restaurant! I'm definitely coming back and ordering from them again for nice occasions. We got the Prezzo Fisso To go Set menu, which is $25 for 3 courses. It's a great deal and we had enough left overs for another meal afterwards. Appetizers: We ordered the Caesar Salad and Meatballs. The caesar salad was pretty solid, nothing special but it really hit the spot. The meatballs were super tender and well cooked. They melted in your mouth. Delicious! They were also pretty big in size, I probably was basically full afterwards. Primo: We ordered the Fresh cavatelli and Risotto Milanese. The eggplant wasn't our favorite. The risotto was delicious. It had a hint of seafood flavor and the saffron was a nice. Secondi: We ordered the Chicken parmigiana and Chicken francese. The Chicken francese was alright. Didn't realize we were in time for the last half hour of happy hour and got a few small plates and happy hour drinks before dinner! We had our family together at Risotto for Thanksgiving and it was delicious! We had eggplant rollatini and clams oreganata for our apps--loved them! We shared great wine with our dinner: chicken, special whole fish, the table side cacio e pepe (so fun and so tasty) and even some traditional turkey for the day. Last night was our third time at Risotto and each time we are more wow'd than the previous! We drive almost an hour from NJ for their signature tableside cheese wheel pasta. It is that good! We've brought our family here and everyone has the same reaction. Amazing! Everytime we've been here there have been more and more people. Last night the place was packed! Kevin can not be any more generous or hospitable. We've only been their 3 times but get treated like family who've been coming there for years. Their attention to detail is astonishing. Everything they do the effort gets turned up to 11. Beyond all that, their food is amazing! Admittedly we've never ordered a different entree then the cacio pepe because... why would you? However as apps go, their meatballs are amazing, light, and airy and their red sauce is the perfect consistency and superior flavor. If we ever decide to order something other than the cacio pepe I'll update this review, but more than likely we never will! read more

It was prepared in a giant cheese wheel, and also very good too. We just finished our anniversary meal here. My husband, two year old toddler and myself were seated warmly and quickly at a table. They seated our son at a high chair, which was great. Every person that worked there was so attentive. My family doesn't eat pork and we misunderstood the appetizer we chose. Once we got our order and noticed salami in it, we just quietly put it on a separate plate. The staff noticed and were gracious enough to replace our order with no problem. They were so kind. They even explained the other non-pork entrees they had available. Our toddler was getting a bit cranky and never once did the staff look annoyed. They were sooo nice! The ambiance is chill and relaxed. The music wasn't too loud. They checked with us often to make sure we were comfortable. The food was delicious, aesthetically pleasing and fresh. A waiter walked over in slow motion and zero energy. Menu was slim but I was excited to see Brunch on the menu. I chose the egg tacos. My husband the chicken risotto. Barely any chicken- just rice (that not risotto. My eggs were grey and dark and so unappealing to the eye when served. you would think the chef had more pride in his cooking. A 10 yr old good have made better egg tacos and more appetizing. I realize it's a new owner and now that I know and I've tried. First and last time customer.
