After 24+ hours of traveling from the U.S. to Italy, Lo Chalet was a lifesaver. Our group of 11 landed in Rome in late morning and rented cars to drive south. After a couple hours of the GPS taking us through winding mountain roads (note to other travelers: do NOT use the GPS that your rental company provides), we finally arrived in Gaeta, starving and tired.
It was 2:30pm in the afternoon, when many Italian stores/restaurants are closed, but La Gaeta graciously seated our large party. The customer service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I ordered a pasta dish not knowing exactly what it was (my Italian isn't very good), and ended up enjoying a pasta dish with swordfish and zucchini.
On top of the great services, Lo Chalet is right on the water and has a great view and atmosphere. The fish was clearly caught that day. It was such a refreshing start to our vacation and really set the tone for our Italy trip! read more
