The decor is elegant, service an A+.... the food is heaven! We had the pork filet with potatoes... it was like butter and almost melted in your mouth. Very tasty. I had the gnocchi with a Sagratino red wine sauce that was delicious. I liked the small size gnocchi, a nice meal portion and balance of sauce. We had wine by the glass and frizzante water. They brought an appetizer for us to try before our meal that was a mix of creamy ricotta cheese, a stripe of sauce and crunchy topping that made the perfect blend. The entire visit was so enjoyable we will be coming back again and again Seating indoors or outside on the patio The owner came by our table and told us his wife is the chef. What a wonder Restaurante they have. Grazie Mille Re Tartu

The last time I visted they had finished their outdoor patio dining area, which is a must for eating dinner and watching the sunset. When we had called ahead to make a reservation, we mentioned that I have celiacs and were curious about what the gluten free options were and by the time we arrived for dinner, the owner's wife had made homemade gluten free pasta special for me! Completely blown away. As usual, the food was incredible, as were the truffles. Musts from Re Tartu are fondue with truffles and the scrambled eggs with truffles... I crave both dishes all the way from Seattle.

We stopped here for a quick lunch with our friends who have vacation residence in Amelia. For a Sunday, it was quiet but there was a larger family group with young children as well as a table with 2 older couples. We were seated in the old 'cuccina' which has a large open fireplace so the room was nicely warmed (considering the much colder weather outside. There is still the old stone ovens and prep area including the original water well (grate over the top but I could not see to the very bottom - very deep! We ordered relatively quickly as we were in a timeframe to leave for Firenze. 3 of us had pasta and 1 the steak, which was served with roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes as well as a local spinach.. All meals were quite well presented, very tasty and enjoyed by all of us. We had the last bottle of local wine which was very nice. An espresso before we left and then it was time to hit the road. This place would be absolutely beautiful in the summer, as the views from the al fresco area outside look directly over the valley below. The elevation of Amelia is high and so offers a great vantage point with stunning views. If you are in the area or even just visiting, it's a great little place to try out.. It's new - and some folks on TA have them a rough review - however, everyone has to start somewhere right? Our friends to live here (vacation home) really enjoy it and so did we..

Great food, great service, and a beautiful view. A great location with a scenic view of the valley…read morebelow.

After trying every restaurant in town ... this is the best! ...and ONLY restaurant in town…read more.. We ordered: - Carbonara di Rosy con Tartufo Nero Estivo - Trofie Cacio, Pepe e Tartufo Nero - Pappardelle al Ragu di Cinghiale e Crema di Porcini - Tagliolini al Tartufo Nero Estivo - Bocconicini di Agnello al forno con Crema di Porcini e Olive nere - Tournedos di Filetto di Maiale con crema al Tartufo - Bocconicini di Pollo al Tartufo Nero Estivo su lettino di Lattuga - Profiterols al Cioccolato e Crema Chantilly The restaurant is quaint and quiet when we arrived. In fact we were the first ones to have lunch today. Primi: The pastas were delicious. However, I couldn't taste the tartufo in the carbonara. Perhaps it was because the pancetta over powered the taste. The best pasta we ordered by far was the Cacio e Pepe. Secondi: all the meats were very tender. You can really taste the truffles in the pork tenderloin, but may be a touch too salty. The portions are quite large so sharing may be an option. Dolce: Delicious Profiterols. A perfect amount of dark chocolate and creme sweetness to complete our very full meal. Overall, it was a very tranquil lunch and my friends and I had a wonderful time. The owner was attentive and gave us enough time to enjoy our meals. If we pass by Collevalenza we will surely stop here for a bite.

Simply, we sat for near a half-hour before getting menuis (my wife and mine didn't match). Another couple came in and sat at the table next to ours about 20 minutes aft6er we did and ordered, were served, ate and left before we got our main courses. It took nearly an hour to be asked what we wanted to eat. Granted, they were busy, but the answers are simple == either take some of the tables out or hire a waiter who has the slightest concept of what the task entails. Avoid this place. There is another restaurant about a mile down the road with efficient wait staff, an enormous list of very local wines, good food, and prices far less than the Torre Sangiovanni. I believe of the 50 or so diners, we were the only non-locals. That should tell you somellthing.

It's very close to the main piazza in Todi and we were lucky enough to stumble in right as they opened. We were given a lovely patio table overlooking some rolling hills a beyond picturesque view of the Italian countryside. To start, we shared the smoked salmon carpaccio (served on a bed of lettuce with with balsamic vinegar and grana). I never expected the smoked salmon to be so good in Italy. I just don't tie the two together in my mind! Honestly though, everywhere we ate salmon it was perfect. Recommended. For my main I IMMENSELY enjoyed the stewed duck with lentils. Think cassoulet-style duck, cooked bone-in, in a thick savory lentil broth. It was made even tastier with the addition of the rosemary roasted-potatoes the server recommended as the side. What a comforting and oh-so-filling dish! I could maybe eat this for every meal for the rest of my life. Maybe. Bottom line, only in Italy can you just be so lucky as to stumble into a Michelin-starred restaurant with views like these. We were super fortunate and so pleasantly surprised!
