We then shared the risotto with pesto, the crab ravioli and their signature dish, tagliatelle with truffles and guanciale. All were delicious, especially the tagliatelle. Portions were adequate and filling. We ended the meal with the white cream and chocolate sauce and the salted caramel with chocolate. The white cream is like panna cotta without the gelatin. It was light and creamy. I suspect it had some marscapone. The salted caramel was like a rich chocolate cake and was served warm. What a lovely meal. For a Sunday, it was quiet but there was a larger family group with young children as well as a table with 2 older couples. We were seated in the old 'cuccina' which has a large open fireplace so the room was nicely warmed (considering the much colder weather outside. There is still the old stone ovens and prep area including the original water well (grate over the top but I could not see to the very bottom - very deep! We ordered relatively quickly as we were in a timeframe to leave for Firenze. 3 of us had pasta and 1 the steak, which was served with roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes as well as a local spinach.. All meals were quite well presented, very tasty and enjoyed by all of us. We had the last bottle of local wine which was very nice. An espresso before we left and then it was time to hit the road. This place would be absolutely beautiful in the summer, as the views from the al fresco area outside look directly over the valley below. The elevation of Amelia is high and so offers a great vantage point with stunning views. If you are in the area or even just visiting, it's a great little place to try out.. I CANNOT emphasize how much I love this place…read more Fiorefiore is the in-house restaurant for Roccafiore's Wine Resort. My partner and I came a few times during our stay. Here are only a few of the reasons this place is great: - It was incredibly easy to get a table. We would always be able to walk in and sit down. No reservation. Though I'm guessing May is their slower time. - The staff overachieves for sure. Shout out to Beatrice for being so attentive. Double shout out to Alessio the sommelier who carefully explained wines to us and answered all of our questions. - The food is indescribable. All dishes are seasonal and local to the area. And very well-priced. Every single dish knocked it out of the park. - The ambiance is so lovely. Cool art, beautiful dishes and glassware, and lots of windows where you can look out and see the panoramas. The only downside is that it is so far removed. You need a car to get there. But it is 100% with the trip. And once you arrive, there is easy parking! Next time I am in Umbria, I will absolutely make it a point to stop by again.

Think cassoulet-style duck, cooked bone-in, in a thick savory lentil broth. It was made even tastier with the addition of the rosemary roasted-potatoes the server recommended as the side. What a comforting and oh-so-filling dish! I could maybe eat this for every meal for the rest of my life. Maybe.
