Not as good as it used to be. Some good Amish products direct from Lancaster County are usually your best bet there now. The produce used to be much better but now average. At the deli if you don't mind taking your chances with Boars Head good luck, We find much better deli options in the area. Last time we were in there a couple items we were going to get had to be put back as they were weeks and months past the expiration dates. It took me some time to write this review because I don't like to do things like this, but I can't let go of what happened to me this past week while visiting Ritter's to purchase a few groceries. I stopped by after work on Tuesday to purchase four items. I passed Smokin Joe's, and Weis in my travels and could have easily stopped at either location, but I love Ritter's and always supported them until now. I arrived at 4:30 PM. One other customer was in the store at the deli counter, so I decided to select my other items and get my lunch meat last. As I walked the aisle furthest from the front door, I noticed the lights in the display case were out, like the store was closing, which I thought was odd because, on Google, it clearly stated they are open until 6 pm. Walking from where I was in the store to the deli, I noticed the cashier looking at me. I smiled, but she didn't say a word and instead "mean-mugged "me. She did that not once, not twice, but three times before I checked out. I could not imagine what this woman was thinking, but the experience of being stared down like I stole someone's firstborn was perplexing, to say the least. Upon arrival at the deli counter, the young lady who was there when I walked into the store was still there, so I stood near her, waiting my turn. At this point, it could not have been any more than 4:35 pm. The older woman who works the deli counter had her back to us and looked as though she was in the process of using the slicer, so I checked out a few items to the right of the deli while waiting my turn. Finally, without a word, the employee pivoted and simply pointed out to the young woman the spot on the counter where she had already cut and left the deli meat. The young lady, who clearly had not seen her lunch meat until then, was annoyed, grabbed it, and walked away without saying a word. It had occurred to me then that if the deli meat had been sitting there all the while, then what was the employee doing back there as she continued to ignore both of us? Anyway, not wanting to jump to conclusions, I stood there thinking she would address me momentarily and take my order, but she didn't. She left me standing there with her back to me as she continued to do something to the slicer. After a few more minutes, I was getting annoyed. Finally, she turned to me and stared at me. Didn't say one word, just mean- mugged me the same way the cashier did. Not one word. Her behavior was so bizarre. I finally said to her that I wanted to order lunch meat. She then replied in a very curt tone that the store closes at 5 pm and that she was cleaning back there, so the deli was closed! Now I was so angry, I told her that it says online that they were open until 6 pm. She said during the winter they close at 5 pm. I said, "Okay, but it's not 5 pm either." This extremely passive-aggressive woman quickly cut my deli meat because she knew I was right. I then approached the cashier to pay, and she handled my purchases gruffly. She even dropped my chips, and there was an awkward interaction of me trying to get them from her before they turned into crumbs. Upset, insulted, and extremely angry, I couldn't wait to get out of there. The funny thing is, as I was leaving the store, other customers were showing up, so I presumed they got the same unpleasant treatment as me because clearly we were a HUGE imposition to these two employees. The behavior of these two employees was horrible! I'm upset because I have shopped at Ritter's for years, but I can't enter that store again with a clear conscience. To whoever bought Ritters recently, you should know that these two employees have no place in customer service or in your store if you want to succeed. And to those employees, shame on you for treating a paying customer, or anyone for that matter, so poorly. May karma show up to you on swift wings. Awesome Farm Stand. They also have sausage and pot pies for sale. They have an Ice cream stand outside. So many delicious homemade jellies and pickles plus assorted cheeses. I'm so glad I found this place. It's like a homemade market. Definitely coming here again. read more

Wow, such a really nice place! Have a lot of the necessities....milk,cheese,vegetables,jams and jellies, deserts. They also sell wood carving items and homemade wood items and signs. Very clean and very well stocked. Super friendly staff! Definitely worth a trip or stop in if driving by... Will be my new go to place while in the area. Been coming here since it opened many years ago as a tiny little farmstand with my grandma. Their donuts are the best, and their pies are delicious. I've noticed though their donuts are now veryyyyy small and not covered in cinnomen-sugar as much as they used to be. read more

This place has great jarred goods, but I expected a little more in the way of produce. Maybe it's the season (early Spring.) I got some produce, but most of it was imported. We received an Apple Crumb Cake from Ritter's Farm Markets and it's very good! It's one of the best we've ever had.

They have a LOT of organic grocery options which I really appreciate. That goes a long way for me and I'll always support a local business who takes consideration for a more health conscious customer. From spices, broths, condiments to ice cream in their freezer. I love their corn it's always sweet and good color compared to a lot of other farms. I don't know what they do but it's working!! I will say their prices are a little steep. I purchased an Apple pie, 8 ears of corn and 2 rather large honeycrisp apples and paid $28. I was a little shocked. I love to support local whenever I can but that's crazy IMO. Maybe I was charged extra by mistake I'm not entirely sure. read more

Wonderful produce, great service and it's always good to support your local farmers! I've come twice now, when I'm in-town visiting a friend and I've purchased everything from their peaches (oh, so good), blueberries (also good), farmers eggs, pumpkins (yes roasted seeds!), jams and well, even their dog food treats. Let's just say each visit was more expensive than the last, but it's worth the trip and everything I've purchased from this market has been excellent. read more

Came out here for a week expecting to find nothing good to eat. But this place is remarkable. Whether I care or not is still up in the air but I love that THEY care about their "no spray" policy. I was shocked to find succulent sweet corn in this area, especially given the lack of pesticides. And I'm in love with their raw milk. The baked goods are ridiculously good--namely the salted caramel apple roll. And the apple cider is probably some of the best I've had. Hell, even the homemade BBQ sauce I bought is awesome. Ritter's used to be our go to for fresh produce, some organic options available. It was quick & convenient, with GF staple items, in an area that could be seen as a food desert. Unfortunately, their product line has changed. It appears to have moved from a plant based, wholesome line to a sugar based, sweets & treats type environment. Jams, jellies, relishes, marmalade's, jelly beans, and many candy store type items available. Pies, cakes, & cookies galore - which I hear are delicious. Their deli carries Boar's Head products, convenient as you head out on the lake. They carried local herbs, which we loved but often were not stored properly. By the time we arrived, they were limp & wilted. I guess they have to cater to the demand, sugar & fat culture. We wish them well. Came here over the weekend with my infant baby. My husband and I are both frontline workers, so finding the time to get to a store is nearly impossible. Prior to this quarantine time, I would come here quit often --- I will never go back. Two women workers ganged up o nome and told me I would have to leave the store unless my baby put a mask on. I informed them she is 11 months old and only children 2 and over are required to wear masks in public. The woman said it is a "law" and I "will not be served and must leave" unless she wears a mask. Of course they encouraged me to buy their own handmade kids masks (that were sold out). They were so rude and did not want to listen to my factual knowledge of the Pensilvania Department of health recommendations INFANTS ARE AT RISK OF SUFFOCATING AND SHOULD NOT BE WEARING MASKS. Shame on those women and all the uneducated staff at Ritter's. Although I will miss that tomato wine, my family will never be stepping foot in there again. read more

I love this place! The staff is always incredibly nice and helpful, there is a ton of local produce which is always delicious, and the prices are cheaper than you would find at a grocery store. The plants are beautiful and I bought an oregano one from them that did very well! Their homemade cider donuts and pies are awesome too, even though I normally don't like those things. They have grass-fed beef and local bacon in the cooler, and they even carry raw milk and goat milk, but I've never tried it. I live about 12 miles away, but will gladly make the trip every time to get my fruits and veggies here. read more

Decent selection...we always get the corn and local blueberries. I'm convinced that not everything is local, but, whatever, the stuff is fresh and reasonably priced...not cheap, but reasonable. I love Ritter's. I live almost in the middle between the one in Mount Cobb and the one in Hamlin. They have the best fresh corn and there is always plenty during corn season. The blueberries and peaches are great too and the apple cider can't be beat. I don't buy the pies because I like to bake when I'm in the mood for one, but they look delicious too. read more
