Rituals is like the older, more sophisticated sister of the Body Shop.
I remember in the 1990s, the Body Shop was THE place to buy gifts. Friends' birthdays, christmas, the person who had everything? The answer was always the Body Shop with its lovely baskets of fruity lotions, creams, soaps and cosmetics. But then we grew up. Fruity scents became a thing of the past, the "good old 90s", and Rituals took their place.
Rituals scents are sophisticated concoctions of slightly sweet scents mixed with rich, herbal fragrances that sound like fine dining inventions you'd see on the menu of a molecular gastronomy restaurant: Mandarin and Yuzu foam or Rice Milk and Cherry Blossom cream. Some of my favorites include Indian Rose and Sweet Almond Oil, as well as Rosemary and Refreshing Eucalyptus.
Prices are a little bit on the high side, but the products are high quality. Their shower gels and lotions are very concentrated so you need only a small amount. They do a lot of special deals as well, and they always have nicely priced gift boxes for both men and women that take the hassle out of shopping for gifts.
They also do a number of spa treatments at some (or all?) of their stores, such as manicures. I haven't had a chance to try any yet, but I got a free manicure with my purchase the other day, so I might go soon! They will usually give you some samples of other products too. read more
