Crystal is a fantastic server. Portions were HUGE. Had to take a lot of foid home because of the portion size. Enjoyed the vegan burger which seemed like mostly beets and black beans. Didnt mind that it fell apart while i ate it, because that's what homemade vegan burgers usually do. But dont order this messy item on a date. I held the sauce. They let me sub a HUGE side salad for the fries. Enjoyed the vanilla ice cream a lot but not the apple tart. The tart was 90 or 95% cinnamon bun and i could hardly find apples. Fruit tarts are usually more fruit than crust; thats what i expected. Apple cinnamon bun eould be a better description. Beautiful ambience indoors. Lots of parking behind the restaurant at 4 PM on a Friday.

The food was excellent (minus a mix up with sides). The smoked fish dip was good but adding the jalapeños made it great. The staff were friendly and we were seated right away on the outside patio. It was a perfect night for outside dining

To begin the service was amazing from the greeting we received at the door. We told the waitress we had a show to go and she timed everything appropriately Every dish was delicious. I had a salad with lobster on it and my husband had the shrimp lobster deal. The spaghetti was Ted and the sauce tasty..

Had an amazing brunch catching up with friends. The rooftop views are excellent and our server Devin was awesome. She was quick, thorough and checked on us at good frequencies. We only had drinks upstairs but they were lovely. I had the Manifestation and it was simply refreshing. Went downstairs and had A LOT of brunch lol I started off with the shrimp and grits. It was creamy and warm and brought a huge smile to my face. Shrimp were cooked nicely and they were super plump. Next I tried the lobster Benedict and that was amazingly delicious as well. I ordered a lobster Louie salad to go and it held up nicely. The combination of the two dressings definitely has this on my repeat salad go-to list.

A group of friends and I ate here last night before going to the T-Pain concert as River and Post has some of the best views and vibes in downtown Jax. Our server Owen was so cute and amazing! She really set the tone with her big smile and personality. I ordered an espresso martini that was strong but so tasty. For my dinner, I got the seared filet mignon medium with mashed potatoes, and asparagus with the bone marrow butter. The steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender. I didn't need steak sauce with this as it just melted in your mouth. The mashed potatoes were seasoned and the Bordelaise sauce that was on top was a nice red wine reduction sauce that was rich and smooth. Everything was so good here last night! Although the weather wasn't the best, we still had to go up to the rooftop and see the view. Love this spot for brunch and day drinking but now, I'll have to add dinner to that now.

I'm glad that River & Post exists. The rooftop is a visual delight and the bartenders are always attentive and friendly. They make a proper spicy margarita! Downstairs, there is a ceviche du jour that has consisted of shrimp exclusively on each of my visits. I'm determined to catch a variation. It's served with plantain chips and is visually delightful. Their fried shrimp are fresh and crispy-juicy.

River and Post is one of those places in Jacksonville that you just have to try if you're ever in the area. It's an amazing two-story venue that has the full service restaurant on bottom and a rooftop bar with an abbreviated menu on top. The food and atmosphere are amazing and you definitely feel like you are at one of the most in demand Restaurants in town. During my last visit, I had the shrimp and grits and it was delicious. The thing I loved most is that they didn't skip you on the shrimp! They were large and flavorful. I also added a few biscuits just to try, but to be honest, I wasn't a big fan of those. For me this place is a four out of five and you would be hard pressed to have a bad experience here.

Went for brunch and had a great time. Ordered the sangria and another drink that I can't recall right now but it came with a blackberry garnish. My husband loved it so much he got a second drink. The food menu was definitely unique with menu pairings I haven't seen before. I got the chicken and ginger waffles with relish. I wasn't sure of how the flavors would or together but I still wanted to try. I'd give it a 7.5/10. The waffles had the slightest hint of ginger and was served with a mint infused syrup. The bacon on my husband's bread pudding French toast tasted delightful. The French toast was perfectly moist with and fluffy.

I'm in town for a friends birthday and she chose this for brunch. Overall, I would come back and try some of the other menu items. Ambiance: great bar, good length seating, and accommodations for large crowds. The servers were all extremely welcoming as soon as we arrived Drinks: we ordered several different alcoholic brunch items- Mimosas, sangrias, and a mixed drink. They were flat, same drinks looked and tasted different and consistency is important to me Food: I had the lobster Benedict which had amazing lobster portions- it needed a little seasoning but the elements were there. I skimmed a friends lemon ricotta pancakes and that was recommended by the waiter- it was so delicious and I would go back for More of that.

My wife and I came here on date night and had an amazing experience. We were kind of confused about the whole rooftop part, thinking it was drinks only. So we sat at the bar in the restaurant part and had two very friendly bartenders. It seemed as if all their food was homemade or made in house.. it was so damn delicious! After eating we headed upstairs to check out the rooftop. (you can bring your drinks from the restaurant to the rooftop) Once we got up there the view was amazing! We also found out the rooftop does serve food and it's a different type of menu.. different appetizers and different entrees. We will definitely be going back here again and next time going to the rooftop to eat!

Everything' is amazing $3 Mimosas Bread Pudding to die for Lemon Ricotta Pancakes reminded me of Sicily and their sweet lemon curd. Eggs Benedict made perfect Fish Tacos so crunchy and delicious R &P even has a roof top bar with live music This is where you can bring a date or hang out with your girlfriends. It truly is special and has ample parking. Best service ever.

ROOFTOP BAR REVIEW / LOCAL-ISH* REVIEW: River & Post offers both a ground level restaurant and a rooftop bar overlooking the St. Johns River, a great location in the Avondale historic district. And good news, the building has its own parking lot! You can find some street parking, but it was very easy to park in the lot behind the building. At a first glance though, it feels like you're parking at an apartment. I visited with my mom and younger sister. We opted for the rooftop bar which is first come, first serve. As a mother-daughter group, we were pleased to see a diverse group of age ranges among the other guests. It makes it clear, all are welcome. The views were gorgeous. This would be a great place to bring friends as they had large booths. We sat at a 4-top that was perfect for us. And who can resist the aesthetic charm of a plant wall with a neon sign? The rooftop menu is different than the ground-level restaurant, but there was plenty to choose from. We ordered the pulled pork nachos which were tasty. We had never had cucumber on nachos, but we thought it added a fresh crunch! We also got a pizza which smelled so amazing that we dug right in and I forgot to take a photo... it was around a $20 pizza and between the 3 of us, we were able to take home leftovers. Our favorite was definitely the Nuts and Berries which may have been a seasonal drink. It was a dessert cocktail and it was deliciously sweet. Prices ranged $13+ for the cocktails which I think is typical of a trendy location. I look forward to visiting again the next time I'm in Jacksonville! *By Local-Ish, I do not reside in Jacksonville. But I visit frequently due to friends and family that live there.

Had to come on here and shoutout River & Post because they have consistently been one of my favorite dinner spots to take guests! Literally off of River and Post in Riverside, this restaurant is not only great for a rooftop view (and pre-dinner cocktail) but has a broad dinner menu that will appeal to everyone. I always, yes always, start out at the rooftop lounge/bar. While the drinks are fantastic, I'd stay away from the appetizers (cheese plate was not impressive to us). After you've enjoyed the view and when you're ready for food, head downstairs to grab a table in the restaurant. Both inside and outside offer plenty of tables, and those of us who are cold bodied do not need to worry... there are heat lamps! This visit I went very basic with the R&P burger with fries. I'm sure most everyone in the Scoop has tried plenty of burger, but when I tell you this was the best cooked medium burger I have EVER had served to me, I am not lying. We were shocked as how perfect it came out. Cooked to a perfect medium and complimented with the best style of salted fries (house fries). My only regret is that I did not take a photo of the burger patty for you all to see. And side note, you do need to try these fries because they were seasoned so well and balanced out the burger just as this combination should. I honestly feel like this burger is a hidden gem because all of the other food is fantastic as well, but you have to give it a try! River & Post Riverside, Jax, FL R&P Burger with House Fries

Looking for a place to get a late-night drink, dessert, or light bite? Look no more...here it is!…read more Awesome find! Upfront, the St. Johns Provision Lounge should not be confused with the St. Johns Provision Co., which is a restaurant. They are in separate places within the Doubletree hotel: https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/jaxjrdt-doubletree-jacksonville-riverfront/dining/ I went with a group of ladies on the River Taxi Sunset & City Lights tour (and no, that is not affiliated with this place). When we were done everyone wanted something...a drink, a dessert, a cup of coffee, a light bite, whatever. But there isn't much in this area...so we wandered into the Doubletree Hotel to ask what was around and VIOLA...we stumbled upon this place located in the lobby! This is a bar with some larger high-top tables. The menu is limited, as it normally is for a bar, but suitable for a late-night "anything". Our waiter, Hunter, was a one-man show and quite accommodating. Upfront Hunter informed us of what they were out of since it was so late...we understood and took what we could get! We were happy just to find a place to sit, relax, get something wet (a drink of some sort), and enjoy social time with friends. The bar started to fill up with others "looking" for something open and what a great crowd it turned out to be. No one knew each other but we laughed, talked, exchanged "where-froms", etc. What fun! It is nice to know this place exists! The vibe is pretty chill and groovy! I plan to go back during the day when they have more available on the menu. I'm just so happy I now know of this place. Woot! Hunter...Thank you for just being you! Note: There is a paid parking lot beside the hotel.

I'll let the photos from other reviews do the talking, but if you enjoy a good backstory, ask about the history of the space. My mission for the night was simple: end the evening with a great gin cocktail. I started with the Donna Bella from the menu. It was well made, but I thought the bitters were a little too forward for my taste. Next, I asked for an off-menu modification: a Water Lily for Teresa, but made with Roku Gin. It was a strong contender--aromatic, balanced, and beautifully floral. If you're a fan of a French 75, this is a fun cocktail to explore. It's less citrus-forward and leans into a floral profile with a character that's hard to compare to anything else. For the final round, I went with bartender's choice. Mick asked a few questions about my flavor preferences and absolutely nailed it. They crafted a cocktail with Roku gin, snap pea cordial, aloe liqueur, egg white, lemon simple, mint, and citrus that was easily the highlight of the night. Fresh, layered, and memorable, it's a drink that deserves a permanent spot on the menu....Mission accomplished. If you're willing to wander beyond the barbershop business front and you consider yourself a spirit explorer, Volstead is well worth the visit. Go for a round...or two. If you're local, this could easily become your staple spot. For what it is, strong craft cocktail bar option. Bartenders choice is the way to go.

The house band is pretty good, a little bit on the young side, but they seem to get the job done. OK. After the house being played a set, they had a sit in sessions with various musicians, which is always nice. The atmosphere is subtle and quiet at least for a club. Location is great, and the staff seemed friendly. It's good to have a place in Jacksonville with an environment like this and a place where you can go and listen to jazz/blues. I wish there was more like this, maybe with a little bit of older, jazz, musicians and more people who appreciate jazz as it didn't seem like the audience was 100% jazz lovers, but that doesn't detract too much especially since there's not a lot of places in Jacksonville that do what they're doing here.
