This store is adorable! Lots of cute items for sale and a fun coffee menu. They are celebrating 10 years in business and it's easy to see why. The staff at our hotel front desk recommended we stop in here and we are so glad they did. The employees were kind and helpful. I tried the Hoosier Brew with a slight bit of hesitation because I'd never had corn in coffee, but it felt quintessentially Indiana. It was delicious!! read more

I absolutely love this small business in Evansville! They have a wonderful curated assortment of local gifts: jewelry, soap, leather goods, books, kids toys, clothing, decor and more! When in Evansville, you absolutely must come browse all these local goods. It's the perfect place to get a gift for anyone on your list. I am only visiting for the day and this was the first stop I made in this town, walking in I was greeted very warmly and kindly, I didn't stay but the dining area was very clean and fresh, it looked like there were quite a few good spots to set up for work or just sit. Completely random stop - but saw the sign for a River city coffee on the sidewalk and made the stop. I had a dirty chi that was good, the pull in the espresso was just right and it had a little spice without someone overdoing it. The store is amazingly cute with a different variety of things from local soaps to funny shirts. It's a good little place as you are passing through to get a few things specific to Evansville. I've been into River City Coffee & Goods several times now since moving to EVV and I'm thankful for this local establishment. This is a revised review with some more details since my initial visits! You'll find a variety of regionally-made jewelry and other goods, cards, kitchy gifts, knick knacks, plus EVV shirts and swag, local flowers (replenished weekly), and of course -- coffee!! Prices on items vary, but there are price points on something for everyone A few years ago we decided to keep fresh flowers in the house as a "NY resolution" -- we've continued to do that pretty regularly either from grocery/ market trips or from our local florists and farmers markets when we lived in Indy so I was so happy to learn that Timberview Flower Farm replenishes arrangements weekly! I've loved picking out arrangements from the cooler. For Valentine's Day, I got my bf a snake plant + card as part of their preorder -- so great! I've enjoyed shopping for gifts here and the chai tea latte was the bomb. They also have baked goods, but I haven't tried those (yet)! I look forward to more visits here. Staff is friendly/ helpful, behind a barrier with COVID precautions being followed and masked. Hand sanitizer is available and there are arrows on the floor to attempt to flow traffic one way around the register. read more

Stopped by to do some studying and reading. The place is clean and neat with local goods and drinks. I had the lavender vanilla chai and it was delicious. The chocolate chip cookie was also chock full of chocolate chips and delicious, especially warmed up in the microwave. There is ample seating, and the staff are very warm and welcoming. I love the location off this shop, it's right off Main Street and close to the riverfront. I ordered a latte to go, but I must say this location has a ton of seating and was clean. We were looking forward to an after dinner coffee and chose River City Coffee because of the 5 star review. We were disappointed from the get go. The young lady taken our order seemed a little aggravated that she had to wait on us and never made eye contact or smiled at all. I needed some sweetener and cream for my coffee and asked a gentleman behind the counter about it. I understand that due to Covid they are not allowed to keep the items out for customers but again, he seemed put out that I asked. We wouldn't recommend even though the coffee was "ok". read more

I love working on homework here! The staff is always friendly and they make really good iced coffee and vanilla lattes. The outdoor seating in the back of the store is a great addition. Truly a treasure in Evansville! This extremely friendly coffee spot in Evansville is a must go for any local or simply a passer by in the Evansville area. The owners are constantly improving the already aesthetically pleasing and incredibly inviting atmosphere of River City Coffee. For someone such as myself local business is quite important to me. River City Coffee takes the motto "Buy Local" to the most pleasant of extremes. Filling the shop with many local merchants and artists products. Giving an avenue to many local entrepreneurs that they would otherwise not have. Have I mentioned the coffee? When you go (not if) do yourself a favor and enjoy an "Ameri-cola" Coffee and soda? Yeah that's right and it is DELICIOUS. I've yet to have a beverage or experience at River City Coffee that was less than wonderful. All in all, originality and comfort oozes from this incredibly comfortable coffee shop in the heart of downtown Evansville. read more

Chill vibes, funny staff, and a great place to sit and sip some coffee. I have been here a few times and it is a cool environment. The pastries always look good. Typically there are a few records on sale. My favorite thing is their custom greeting cards. They are unique, well designed, and are often funny. Their decor is lofty with lounging areas for those who work with their computers and a place to relax in general sipping on expresó and teas. They also support on showcasing their goodies and local products within tri-state or just Evansville region of individual sellers . I moved to Evansville at the start of 2018, I happened across River City the first week I was in town and have been hooked ever since. I'm there 5+ times per week. The coffee is some of the best in town, the staff makes you feel like family and there are some fun, uniquely curated products that have served as perfect gift options. I love the friendliness and the atmosphere of the shop and love the products they sell. Although this is a great place to go they don't have the best coffee. The coffee beans are burnt giving the coffee a bitter burnt taste. That is my only problem. They do have great muffins and cookies but if you're looking for great coffee this isn't the best place for you. read more

Visited this gem of a coffee shop today! Awesome coffee! I ordered a cappuccino, that was made to a frothy perfection. I was also able to try some of the brewed coffee they had ready to go. Cute shop, however I just wanted a cup of coffee, only had two kinds already brewed.... wasn't a huge fan. However, the service and guy that worked the bar was wonderful and knowledgeable on everything. It's a bit more expensive than I would have thought for a large coffee. read more

I am not from Evansville, but I have a lot of family who lives there. Whenever I come to visit, I always swing by River City Coffee! I make sure to always try something different and I cannot seem to pick a favorite, because they are always exactly what I need at the time. Their latte's, no matter the flavor, always seems to be the perfect ratio. Their over-pours are made to precise perfection and their BLISSFUL ROSE CHAI LATTE is to die for. The staff is always super friendly, courteous and genuinely cares about striking up a conversation. They are also located in a great location in the heart of Evansville. I have loved this shop for a long time for both its drinks and fun gift items unique to Evansville. The employees are friendly and are great with remembering regulars. I enjoy spending time meeting others there for business as well. However, one of their staff members who seems to always be there is incredibly rude. Not just to customers, but also to some of the staff members. He makes customers uncomfortable (making fun of religion; if you like sports, he makes jokes about being unintelligent; if you make small talk, sometimes he just simply ignores you). I know a handful of people who no longer hold meetings there in case he is working. Over the years I have heard him insult other young staff members, and once overheard him brag about how many employees he has made cry. I still enjoy River City, the other employees, and their drinks, but it is hard going there when he is around... he makes sure of it. read more

One of my favorite local retail shops and coffee shops all under one roof. Lots a cool handmade items from greeting cards to Evansville swag. As for the coffee shop, it puts any Starbucks to shame. The shop has a simple menu of expertly made drinks. I honestly like everything on the menu. I usually go in and tell them to surprise me with whatever they want. It's always good! read more

Such a cool place! Chill atmosphere, great coffee! They have some really neat stuff that you can't find anywhere else in Evansville, supporting the local artisans. Owners are very sweet and helpful, and did a great job renovating the space. read more

What can you say, "meh" , the atmosphere is strange, too quiet, and honestly the whole experience was strange. Would rather get coffee at a gas stations vs here. Gas stations are friendlier. read more
