Puncturing an internal PVC plumbing pipe, illegally wrapping it in black duct tape, and immediately hiding it behind the new siding is not a 'punch-list' item - it is active fraudulent concealment. The 'Fraudulent' Financing: We authorized the payment because they claimed to follow actively concealed the duct-taped plumbing. Inducing a customer to authorize a loan by hiding severe damage is the legal definition of fraudulent concealment. Contradictory Public Statements & The BBB Complaint: JP Exteriors is using public platforms to feign cooperation. On our active BBB complaint, they claim they are waiting for our independent inspection report before taking action. However, their own written record proves they inspected the property themselves on June 11th and issued a superficial patching offer on June 22nd. The very next day, they explicitly stated in writing they were not willing to expand their scope to a full replacement, formally refusing to cure the hidden defects before our third-party inspection was even conducted on June 24th. The 42-page independent inspection report, which we received on June 29, definitively confirms that the widespread, concealed code violations and structural deficiencies cannot be resolved through superficial patching. The report details systemic failures, including improperly installed weather-resistant barriers, missing flashings, overdriven fasteners, damaged boards, unsealed wall penetrations, and an internal PVC plumbing pipe that was punctured by a fastener and actively concealed with black duct tape. The Manufacturer's Involvement: James Hardie is indeed involved, to the extent that the manufacturer offered to provide free replacement materials to JP Exteriors so they could execute a proper rework. Daniel ran the job and was fantastic as well. He had great insights, let me nag him about every possible question I could come up with, was flexible if I had any changes of heart about this or that, extremely easy to work with. All of his subs were top notch, which I can say as a business owner in the construction field myself is extremely rare. Plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tile work, all were fantastic. He's surrounded himself with great people that get the job done right the first time. They didn't bat an eyelash at the art deco tile or the smart valves or any other unusual items I sent their way, they knocked it out with ease. And lastly Koren worked with me on any project details/paperwork that I needed. His crew came out and replaced the roof and vents in one day. His other crew came to replace all the gutters and downspouts. They even hung a new gutter/spout by the front door entrance and told me it would be no charge. Alex also personally replaced our hail-damaged screens. Now for the icing on the cake. Because we chose impact resistant shingles we are eligible for a significant reduction in our homeowners insurance. Alex took care of all the paperwork and communicated directly with our insurance company to make that happen. THAT is customer service and blew me away when he told me he would do that.
