Too much $ four no privacy, very narrow sites, lots of road noise all night long. Lots of rules/legalese packet of paper to sign off on.

We stayed in the Rushing Waters Treehouse at River Falls at the Gorge and had a fun visit overall. The cabin is cute, rustic, and feels fairly new. One of the unique features is that the back deck has large tree trunks coming through the floor and roof. They add to the treehouse atmosphere, although they aren't actual live trees and do sway, so don't plan on hanging a camping hammock from them. One thing to know before booking is that there's a short hike down to the cabin from the parking area, about 1-2 minutes on a downward slope trail with rocks. We packed light, so it wasn't an issue, but it could be an unpleasant surprise for elderly guests or anyone bringing heavy luggage. The treehouse cabin next door, River Pines, has a shorter walk, and the other regular cabins have parking at the cabin. The back deck overlooks the river as well as a few long-term RV sites. There is a path behind the cabin leading toward the river, but the waterfront areas directly behind the cabin are occupied by the leased RV sites. To access the river, walk to the right toward the tubing entrance, or continue past the playground and bathhouse to the main riverfront common area, which is also a convenient tubing exit point. There's parking near the common area, making it easy to bring coolers, chairs, floats, fishing supplies and other gear for an afternoon by the water. The tubing was the main event and very relaxing. The website listing is somewhat vague, but the cabin does include linens (sheets and bath towels), kitchen basics (dishes, utensils, cookware, dish wash basics), a refrigerator, small oven/stove, microwave, toaster, broom and charcoal grill. Bring your own pool towels and shower essentials. A few downsides: there is no fire pit, only 1 parking spot, and the main bedroom mattress has poor support and dips in the middle. Some arcade machines were broken or took quarters without working. The biggest drawback was the value. Our stay came out to more than $600 for two nights after the cleaning fee. The $95 cleaning fee felt steep considering guests are asked to wash and put away dishes, leave the cabin tidy, and take out trash. This price would be worth it if it had designated river access directly behind the unit. The campground is largely RV residential. Overall, it's a unique and enjoyable place to stay, especially if you're visiting nearby Tallulah Gorge State Park. We enjoyed our stay as a one time experience. The front office staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our friends stayed in the honey bear cabin, which was about a 10 min walk from Rushing Waters. Although not as charming or spacious as Rushing Waters, we liked their screened porch, extra bedroom and easy access as you can park right in front of it. Plus, it has a firepit. read more

This place is gorgeous.. we had the best time and went with a large group of all ages from 9-60. Yes some sites are tight and the bathrooms and showers are meh but if you want mother nature at her finest.. who cares about that stuff?!? The restrooms and showers were clean. The water was hot and it was fine. The pool was clean, and yes, we bumped into snakes BUT...our grandkids were living. Their best life and could have cared less... we all had the best time and the staff are wonderful and it's so peaceful and gorgeous there. I can't wait to go back with my snake grabber, of course if you are in need of a posh designer restroom, I highly recommend camping on the gulf.. that's where all the no fun is. Enjoy. Lots of renovations and now there are full hookup sites on both sides of the campground! Near the B1 site at the grassy area overlooking the bend in the river, they have these really cute wooden swings. A swing for two in the middle and a swing for one person on either side. It's a great spot to watch all the tubers or just enjoy the sound of the river on the rocks with a book. Other changes - they said that there is not someone working after hours, so check in may be a little different if you come in late. We never had a problem or needed anything, so it didn't affect us at all. Looked like a campground host was still on hand and had firewood available for purchase. I recently had the opportunity to attend a fantastic outdoor concert alongside the river at River Fall Resort in Lakmont Georgia this past weekend. I have been coming here for years and have had many great memories made here with my family, combined with the camping experience and/or staying in a cabin, the experience has always exceeded all expectations as the staff there has always planned different events for all age groups each time. The staff are amazing and are always available. The location of the concert was simply breathtaking. Set against the backdrop of a flowing river, the stage was perfectly positioned to encapsulate the beauty of nature. The sound quality was exceptional, and the acoustics were surprisingly great considering the open-air setup. Overall, this outdoor concert by the river and camping experience was truly unforgettable. The combination of incredible music, breathtaking scenery, and the chance to immerse oneself in nature made for an extraordinary weekend. I would highly recommend River Falls to anyone who appreciates the great outdoors, and the joy of creating lasting memories. read more

The staff were very friendly at check in. We stayed at site b-06 along the river from 5/13-5-16. No other campers were next to us from site b-1 to b-39 from 5/13-5/14 anyway. Bath house was near. It could use some up dating, but was clean and stocked. The river was flowing good and made for some peaceful sleeping conditions. Tried fishing for a bit and didn't get a bite. The river sites are on flat ground and there are sites that are on the side of the mountain and some on top of the mountain. Very steep hill to get your rig up. I would stay here again. read more

Amazing location basically felt like I was at the Tallulah State Park Gorge. It was surrounded by super tall bushy trees right next to the river I loved waking up and falling asleep to the river sounds. We brought our own tubes and had a super fun time floating down the river and lying on the rocks to tan. The only downside is that the campsites are very close together so if you have a hammock you may have to share a tree or you prefer a very quiet/silent/isolated campsite I would recommend choosing a site on the very end of the loop. The campsite had the cleanest bathrooms/bath house I have ever seen and I am a frequent camper! There was also a food truck open till 8pm that had a lot of BBQ options and amazing homemade lemonade. There was also an arcade, pool table, and a pool. You could also purchase firewood there, fishing gear, and tubes if you don't have your own. I am definitely going to come back! read more

This park is old, very tired, and in need of serious upgrading. While they appear to be upgrading sites along the river, interior sites are not level with very little gravel and are mostly mud. Sites are also so close together that you trip over your neighbor's sewer line when exiting your camper and can't extend your awning. Ground plumbing was installed above the frost line, so every time ground freezes you're without water. Roads are narrow, mostly dirt, and what pavement exists is broken and almost nonexistent.  Road noise from highway is constant, including big rig air brakes as they come across the bridge. Very large pine tree ripped out at the roots and came down overnight across empty campsites while we were there. Had it been peak season, campers would have been crushed. No Wi-Fi at all. Sandy checked us in and was very nice, but the rest have serious attitude and go out of their way to be rude and unhelpful. Owners clearly don't care about anything, but income. The ONLY thing this park has going for it is that it's right on the river. Could not get out of this place fast enough.  Keep driving. read more

I will be the first to admit that I was apprehensive about booking. I had been scouring the internet for reviews, and this place had been recommended to me on a Facebook group. Most of the negative reviews on camp review sites were either old (seemingly old management) or and what seemed to be one off guests, most of whom seem to have their own individual, underlying issues. I decided as a deciding factor, I would call in and see what kind of vibe I got. After all, I'm responsible for booking our first ever family road trip. Luckily, I called in and got Tori on the phone. She was clearly doing something else when she answered, but once she realized I was looking into visiting, she dropped everything and made me feel like I was booking a room in her house. She was interested in my family breakdown so she could help find the perfect spot... and she did a damn good job. I spent a good 20 minutes on the phone while she worked us into a spot. We were only there one night, and she put us in B14. It was right across from the camp host, so firewood was easy to come by. It was also directly across from the bathhouse. We had a 30 amp in our 30' rental RV, but luckily we had a adapter. The place was empty as it is mid week in off season, which was perfect. While I loved the place, I'm not sure I would have the same experience over 50/75% occupancy. It was great to throw the raft in the river and let the kids enjoy themselves without worry. The river wasn't very deep, and even provided some small rock slides. The playground was about 5 sites down and also perfect to let the kids run to. We wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back. If not this week, on our next trip to the mountains. Absolutely beautiful location and views! We rented the Morning Star RV (A23) for 5 nights (6/21 - 6/24). I can't say enough about how perfect this RV and location is. I think it might be the best in the whole campground. This campground feels very secluded even though it is close to a lot of things to do. We arrived on a Thursday and it was pretty quiet. It started filling up on Friday afternoon as people came in for the weekend. We started having power issues - the power to our RV would just go off. It turns out that the breaker was being tripped at the main breaker box for the section we were in. The people who run the campground were great. They came out every time the power tripped and finally showed me where the breaker was. We finally lost power for good overnight on Sunday night. It was explained to me that a few weeks previously someone with an older camper with faulty wiring came into this section, plugged in and caused serious problems with the wiring in this section. They immediately started the process to upgrade the power grid for this whole section. We just happened to be there just before that was completed. It is scheduled for completion this week. I could see evidence of the upgrade process and verified that with the electrician who came out on Monday to try and fix our power loss. BTW, it seemed to only affect our campsite - the other campers around us did not lose power. The power issues, although an inconvenience, really didn't keep us from enjoying our time. We tubed the river right by our campsite, enjoyed their nice pool and had a great time. The people here are so nice and did everything in their power to make sure our stay was good. Monday was my wife's birthday and when they couldn't get power back on at our RV, they upgraded us, at no extra charge, to an amazing TREEHOUSE! This was an over the top experience! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, scenic, relaxing experience! read more

We love to camp here on the river. This is our 3rd time here,both swimming pools needed a good cleaning, brown film all around the sides. Bathrooms need an update, the experience was all around good, kids enjoyed getting in the river, except for when a snake decided to swim near and slither up on a rock, so BEWARE! I would recommend staying here, but I am going to speak to staff about pools needing cleaned. read more

We have camped at River Falls several times in the past. We love the location next to the Tallulah River. We have camped in both the A and B sections but, beware, the A section has extremely loud traffic noise. Our grandchildren loved playing in the river next to our campsite and we enjoyed the scenery all around the campground. Our last visit was three years ago until this month. I believe there are new owners now and we were pleased to see some minor updates. However, there were some major updates that need to be done. Parking for our campsite was a muddy mess and when I asked if we could have some gravel there the lady at the desk kind of snorted and said, "Yeah, I'll pass that along to the owner" lIke it was a joke. The bath houses in the B section are really in need of updating. They were bad three years ago but are even worse now - you don't want anything to touch the floor. Just because you're camping doesn't mean you don't want a decent place to clean up. With the high rates charged, you expect to have a nicer surroundings. All in all, it appears than this lovely area could be a great campground if some of the income went back into keeping the place updated. read more

This is a beautiful campground. I think we had the worst site but still loved it. The sites with sewage hookup are kinda close. A6 is at an angle with A7. So walking out your door your stepping out to your neighbors sewage hookup. We just put a chair in front. But your backyard view is incredible. The staff are most accommodating and sweet. I must have called 10xs with questions of local needs like laundry etc. Not 1x did they make me feel like I was bothering them. The campground is huge with a variety of lodging options. Almost every site has river views. We are definitely coming back here. It's the total package when it comes to camping. read more

The camp site they rented us was too small for our RV. We rented over the phone and trusted management to give us an adequate site. Their water and sewer connections were on the site adjacent to ours (not even on our site). When we explained this to management, they refused to refund or credit our stay. read more

We booked an event at River Falls at the Gorge before the campground even opened with the entire "B" loop. We had an amazing time this weekend and truly the campground couldn't have been more accommodating. The sites were level and the bathrooms clean. We are already booked again for next year! Please note: this campground is under new ownership / management and Tori and Teri did a fantastic job. If you've read negative reviews from years past... this is NOT the same owner. They've spent alot of money in upfit and it's a really great place to camp. read more

We never got to stay at the Falls at River Gorge Campground. Our plans unexpectedly changed three months prior to our trip to this campground. I emailed the campground to cancel our reservation and requested a refund for the deposit I paid. I was told by Les, a staff member of the campground, that I would not be refunded due to their no refund policy. I can understand this type of policy for "last minute" or "week of" cancellations but, certainly not cancellations three months in advance. They offered me a "voucher" for a future stay in lieu of a refund. I live in a different state so, a future stay at this campground in the next year is not likely. If you are an RV'er, your plans sometimes change unexpectedly. We book many campgrounds each month and we have NEVER encountered a cancellation policy such as this. I cannot verify what a stay would have been like at this campground, as we had to cancel our reservation. That said, if you value your money, I would find a campground that has a decent and fair cancellation policy. Read the fine print...lesson learned! read more

The river is what makes this park bearable. Dump stations are not at all correctly installed. 2 of the 3 were closed this past weekend, the third had no hydrant to flush tanks. The stations are all on wrong side of camper when exiting. If you needed to use it, you had to find some way to turn around to dump, then turn around again to exit. One of the desk employees treated us rudely, because entry code was not given by spouse right after we setup and needed to go out. No easy entry if you leave and try to gain access back inside if someone is checking in, have to wait behind any camper checking in since no other lane is available. Not very good design. Camp needs some upgrades, getting old. Lots of rotten tables and rundown look of the bath houses and facilities. read more

We stayed in a spot right on the river. It has been raining heavily just before we arrived. The gravel road was packed gravel and we didn't drag any hitches or chains, especially for the recent rains. The site was damp but we leveled quickly with just enough gravel and grass on the site. The sites are 90degrees to the road but the road is very wide in most parts of area B. Areas A and C would require more precise backing in ability, I think. But there are some pull thru sites in A. The facilities were clean, well lit, and even heated which was nice for the chilly, after dark run to the restroom. The outdoor pool was open but freezing. So we were glad the indoor pool was also open and HEATED!!! The hours were nice too. There is the prettiest walk/drive going along the river. It's a beautiful walk and shallow enough for kids to hop rocks and catch fish if they like minnow and frog catching. The adults were catching actual eating size fish in a couple of spots. This is about a mile from the Tallulah Gorge State Park. It was a holiday weekend and every sit was full, but it didn't seem like too many people were there to enjoy the space. The store bought playground was missing a swing and a little sad, but the rest of the grounds made up for it. They even had a horseshoe pit and shoes just out of child reach. Parking is typically a problem everywhere on holidays, but they have a nice gated lot near the entrance for second cars. We always worry about confederate flags Flying at private parks, and we only saw one. This is less than some state parks we have stayed at. Our neighbors on one side were super friendly. The camp host was timely in the am campsite trash pickup which was nice. Next time we'll stay here and hike the Gorge. Highly recommend this park. read more

Back in the summer, we booked a cabin for this fall, but unfortunately we are not able to attend our stay with trying times that COVID has put on our family. We really wanted to stay here, but we couldn't make it work. I gave more than a weeks notice that we wouldn't be able to attend, yet they are keeping our 1/2 down deposit unless we were to reschedule within 3 months. That's a lot of money that we are "out" and this place keeps for not providing any service. I'd definitely look somewhere else.... read more

We never got to stay at the campground because our motor home broke down before we got there, so it is hard to rate the campground. However, we did go to the campground to visit my sister. If it had not been raining every day that week and if the site had been gravel like the website said it was, it may have been good for us. I will say the owners and staff were so willing to help us when we were in our broke down state. We had reservations for 5 nights and we did cancel at the last minute. We would have appreciated a two day refund. We understood it was a holiday time and their policy was three days paid on holiday cancellations. The other issue was the name says resort and this is a far cry from a resort. It was a beautiful setting and the owners were super nice. read more

My husband I stayed in one of their tiny cabins (Mt. Laurel) for 3 nights in November. It's a small, studio cabin with a full kitchen, dining table, couch, coffee table, recliner, bed, full bath, and a small loft if additional room is needed for sleeping. It was very clean and cozy. The kitchen came with everything you might need, including a coffee maker. The cabin is up the hillside from the river, but you can hear the river from the cabin. Being that it was off season for camping, the campground was fairly empty, but looks like the type of place that is likely very busy during the warmer months. Lots of camp sites right along the river, various chairs, hammocks, and such along the river for relaxing. Staff were pleasant. Over all a very nice experience. If we're ever in the area again, we'd definitely return here. read more

My family and I just stayed at River Falls at the Gorge and could not have asked for a more enjoyable vacation. We stayed in a camper on the beautiful Tallulah River. The camper had everything we needed so all we had to bring was clothes and food. It was camping at its finest without all the fuss. River Falls is clean, well run, and has a friendly helpful staff. We made reservations to stay here starting Tuesday July 4th thru 8th. When we got there the sites seemed really unkept and the rain did not help. The website said they have a gravel pad on the site, but there was not one to be found on ours at all. The site was muddy and wet the whole time there. The men's bathroom that was the farthest away from the office had water standing in the floor so you could not even use the toilet without standing in water. The showers were another issue with the heads being where you could not adjust them due to the poor plumbing work done in them. Let me just say the bathroom was an insult to camping and anyone who would come into this bathroom. We left after 2 days because we were tired of the mud. This campground could be real nice, but they need to do some work on the sites and the bathhouse. The owner and staff were very friendly. read more

We enjoyed everything about this campground except for the price. We tent camped during the week so fortunately we didn't have people right beside us. If it was busy and all the sites were occupied, it would have been WAY too close to each other. Many of the sites were sunny which isn't an issue in a camper, but we were in tents. Upon arrival, they let us change our site once we saw how much sun was on the site we originally picked out. It's great having the river right there and our kids enjoyed playing in it while we hung out at camp. We also took rafts and they floated down it one day. The pools are comfortable. The air conditioned bath houses made me give this place the additional star. This makes a huge difference! Overall, for the price, for a tent, it isn't the best. I'm just glad they accepted tents because we're finding it harder to find places that do. read more

Very Expensive! Defiantly not worth the money. We had unexpected plans come up and had to cancel our reservations. They do no give refunds FYI. They also have a 2 or 3 night minimum depending on the time of year you will get conflicting stories from the front desk. Staff is unfriendly. We were still able to visit some friends that were camping there. Campsites are VERY SMALL. Seems like you walk out into your neighbors campsite (some awnings hang over the neighbors water and power hookups, yes they are that close). The staff came and made us move to the upper parking lot and said you can only have 1 car per campsite. They tried to say the vehicles did not check in. All the vehicles DID check in. They stated it was because of safety concerns. They did not check very well. I would recommend you look at other places in the area that are almost half the price a night. Lake Rabun Campground is great! Moccasin Creek is well worth the money. read more
