I'm picky and have a hard time liking my haircut... Stephanie does a great job... somehow she gets it perfect...everytime.

Purchased a Bloomspot certificate and was able to schedule for a Saturday without a problem. I was was scheduled with Stefani and had the first appointment of the day. I had a really positive experience with the salon itself and with Stefani. She took a long time talking to me about my hair and what I wanted before she cut it. I thought I needed more layers but she told me I should really go with more of a blunt cut which surprised me. She gave me a really great cut that added balance and definition. I usually wear it curly so when she blow-dried it straight I was not sure how it was going to look curly but after I washed it the next day it looked great. read more

Casey has cut and colored my hair for many years, and I have always been thrilled with his work. I get compliments on my hair and hair color everywhere I go. I moved away from Houston almost 4 years ago, and still travel to Houston every 5-6 weeks for Casey to do my head. He is worth it ! Shyn has a really cool, relaxed vibe. There is nothing bad I can say about Shyn. The atmosphere is wonderful. I've had my hair cut and colored and my makeup done by Casey. What a fabulous experience! I found this salon though Groupon ($55.00 for $75.00 haircut, blow dry and style). I called to schedule my appointment earlier this morning and chose Kip (cause what a cute name!) and he was awesome. I even got to come in about an hour earlier than my appointment. Everyone was very friendly and my cut looks great! I showed Kip a photo of what I was kinda going for- a light, fresh shoulder length 'do and he nailed it. Yay! I peeked around and all the other clients looked great too. There was a bridal party getting their hair done (probably about six or more of them) and they all looked gorgeous. So, go, go, GO! You'll be happy and if price is an issue look around for coupons. They do a good job and that makes it worth it. read more

I went to Stefani at Shyn Salon this week and was very pleased with the atmosphere in the salon, Stefani's expertise, and the cut and color. The products they use are wonderful and left my hair feeling so much healthier. The cut is very complimentary and Stefani really listened and considered all of my concerns with my hair. One of my tests is how the cut holds up after the first wash, and it still looks great! The only caveat is, of course, the high cost, but I suppose that's par for the course for a good salon in Houston. read more

Shyn salon (Casey in particuliar) is the ONLY place I would trust to go if you want your color, cut or makeup to look perfect. In the past I went to a specific stylist and it was OK- once I started going to Casey I received TONS of compliments and I feel so pretty after I leave the salon! Everyone there is friendly- from Jonathan at the front desk to all the other hairstylists in there, I always feel right at home and I know that I'll be taken care of from root to end (get it? ha!). Another perk: I just went to Casey this past weekend to get my makeup done for a party and he did an AMAZING job. He really understands a woman's face and I felt fabulous all night. I usually walk out of any other place looking like a totally different person and washing my face completely to start over, and I didn't touch a thing that he did. I love Shyn Salon. Casey and his staff are professional yet warm and welcoming. The products are top notch. I had my make up done for my wedding and have never had so many compliments. My hair always looks amazing after I leave the salon as well as when I style it at home. I can't say enough great things about the salon. They always say you get what you pay for but here you get what you pay for and more. Casey's hair cuts are amazing. I have fine hair and he cuts it in a way it looks voluminous and thick. I gave two stars because the cuts can be nice, but the prices are very high and Casey is very unreliable. If I'm going to spend that much money, the stylist should show up, or call to reschedule if something else comes up. Happened more than once. Very unprofessional. I won't be going back. read more

I love love love Shyn Salon! I have had my hair and makeup done by both Casey and Stefani. Every time I have left the salon I feel invigorated and amazing. They really take the time to listen to what I want and am trying to achieve and weigh in with their expert opinions so that the end result is a haircut that is just what I had vision aesthetically and so that it functions well with my lifestyle and daily routine. I receive so many compliments on my hair after I leave the salon. It's been three or four months since my last appointment and people are still complimenting my hair. So here's the thing about Shyne. The colorists are skilled. My highlights were subtle but cute. However, after paying about $200 for partial highlights, they won't blowdry your hair for you. Yes, they charge EXTRA for a blowdry when you get your hair colored at this otherwise high-end seeming hair salon. It seems so strange, so Hair Cuttery, which is not what you'd expect from a $200 partial highlight. read more

First of all, I am a very very particular blonde. I have long blonde hair (white blonde not orange) that is thick and has taken me 2 years to get healthy like this. I recently moved from another state and needed to find a hairdresser that does good blonde hair. I read many reviews and did a lot of research, my previous hairdresser uses davines so that is how I narrow my search. The reviews looked great about shyn and thought I should try it out. I went in for my consult and Katarina told me she could do what I was asking for. She spent a lot of time on my hair, and I had a HORRIBLE outcome. First of all my hair was fried, a good hairdresser should know how long to have the dye and toner on for. Since going back to my home hairdresser, she told me I lost about half of my hair from falling out because she fried it so bad! Second after sitting in the chair for 3 hours I still had roots :( I told her look there are roots still and she said " ya it looks good" I'm like "WHAT" seriously I still don't get it. I went into a salon to make my roots go away and I left with them. I get that good healthy blonde hair is very hard to accomplish, but tell me before you make me sit for that long and make me pay. Third it is extremely extremly expensive ($350) for just a color (foils -1 color not 2).No haircut! I will never be going back to shyn all that came out of it was a $350 dollar bill, half my hair gone and roots. In regard to the other adds about blondes. I am sure yours is amazing for you. But if you want the white blonde done by foils, no roots and have healthy hair it is not going to happen. Just a warning to any of you doing your research read more

Cara has given me some of my favorite haircuts. I always get a haircut from her when I'm in Houston (unfortunately I live in Denver now). I'm probably a hard person for a hair stylus/barber, since I never really know what to do with my hair. And it's pretty thin, so you can easily see if any mistakes were made during the haircut. I had an appointment with Stefani for partial highlights and a cut for the first time today, and she did a fabulous job! In fact, I would honestly say that she is the best stylist I've ever visited. Before she began, she carefully and thoughtfully considered the best approach to styling my hair, and she was terrific about talking me through her plans and thoroughly explaining each step of the process. By the end of my appointment, I was convinced that Stefani truly is an exceptional stylist. My hair looks 100% better than it did when I arrived, and I so appreciate the time and thought she put into every detail of the process. I recently had my hair cut by Casey and I love it! My stylist was out of town and I needed a birthday cut ASAP. I had heard about Shyn from a friend and decided to give them a try. As a black woman this was a major for me because I don't like switching stylist after you develop a relationship with them and they know every nuance of your hair. However, my experience was great. Casey was friendly, very attentive to detail and the cut was fabulous (I have been getting tons of complements). I love Shyn Salon, and having been having my hair cut and highlighted by Katarina for the last couple of years. Finding an appointment is not complicated (Jonathan at the front is very helpful and quick to respond to my back and forth emails), and zipping in and out of this salon is simple (major plus over some of the high traffic upscale salons in Houston. Katarina is one of the best listeners I've found in a hair stylist and is very conscientious of her work and absolutely does not rush. She never over layers my fine hair, as other stylists always try to do for added volume (has the opposite effect!) The cuts I have received are always great, the highlights are very natural and brighten the look, and her blow outs are super! I love this laid back salon and would recommend Katarina to everyone! read more

I have loved every haircut I have gotten at Shyn Salon! My hair literally falls into place every day. It is a little pricey, but I have had to get fewer haircuts because my cuts have grown out really well. To me it is worth the cost because I don't have to do anything to my hair - even with Houston humidity! read more
