The congregation was in Holy Huddle mode and we were the visiting team. I definitely did not feel welcomed here at all. By way of example most other churches will actually walk you to the kids program so you don't get lost and also so they can have someone at the drop off point kinda help your child get acclimated. Here they just tell you which way to go. And of course we got lost. When we eventually got to the kids building we told the adult at the front my kid was a first time visitor and they just said she was in the right place. And that's it. Not even a smile. No hi welcome. I seriously thought about just leaving at that point but I figure since we drove all the way here we'd give them a try. As I left the kid building, the kiddo was just sitting there by herself. And When I picked her up I saw the girls small group she was in had formed a circle of seats with the teacher, but my kid's chair was the only one outside the circle. I asked her what happened and she said they didn't make room for her. It's one thing if you do that kind of stuff to an adult. Another if you do it to a kid. Based on this experience alone I would not entrust my kid to this place again. While I did like the senior pastor's sermon, this church is a hard pass for us. I actually heard someone from this church at my workplace say they're not looking to grow the membership as they got more than they can handle. I actually couldn't believe they said that at first. But now I witnessed this attitude myself at the church. The Frozen Chosen. At the sermon today they said they're big on missions. A bit ironic actually because back at the home church it's like the Great Omission. They should work on their home game first. Get back to the basics and get their house in order before focusing energy on sending folks out of their flock to the rest of the world to do missions. After visiting this church it makes me not want to look anymore. Or at least take a break from looking. I can see why non-Christians would be turned off from Christianity with experiences like we had here. Maybe I'll try again someday. After the bad after taste from this place has dissipated. But that may be a while.

That said, it can be a bit frustrating at times, especially on special occasions, because attendance fills up quickly. I've driven a long distance only to find the church at capacity, with some guests having to remain outside. They make you completely comfortable, and they make you feel like you've know them for years. There are many small groups and if you have kids we have a bag that is given to the kids to keep them entertained during service. From there, other members approached me and made a simple effort to get to know me, which went a long way! Pastor Lacey is one of a kind. I've heard a saying, "A shepherd should smell like sheep," and he really embodies it. He is deeply involved, and in the few months I've known him, he has had a major impact on me. It's wonderful to have a pastor who is not only available but just a text away.

Glory to God first, but Pastor Adam Brock, and Jeff Williams are the main reason we keep continuing to come. We also have included Focus Group class after 9:30 service from 11am-12:15pm because of how awesome our group is. Full of devout, polite, and loving people who only want to guide you on your path in an appropriate manner. Wednesday nights we have also gone to multiple bible studies, and focus groups as well around 6-7pm each week(not active during summer time) We love this church! I have to include also how dedicated they are in their children's ministry. Our daughter is a bit shy, and she has only had good experiences ever since coming with us to service, and the 3 hour children's service from 9:30am-12:30pm. My own son, 17, is autistic and really enjoys the gatherings. There are easily 100 people here tonight. Significant growth from our first time attending whey there might have been 30. Love it! Every one is served dinner and desert.
