It was such a stressful experience getting the damage mitigated, and I was left with just a husk of a bathroom. I reached out to multiple contractors before stumbling upon J & B Woodworks, and they were the only company that was able to clearly communicate, provide an estimate in a timely fashion, and ultimately get everything that I needed done completed. I was working under a budget due to this being an insurance claim, and Javier was able to make it all happen well within that budget. I can safely say that both bathrooms look better than they did before the water damage ever happened. I can not recommend J & B Woodworks enough for whatever project you may have.

We had serious water damage in our 1890's house. Javier first repaired the first floor water damage…read moreand then rebuilt the second-floor balcony where the leak originated. He did a meticulous job, even coming in on Saturdays to complete the project. He gave a fair estimate which he kept to, and did the whole repair without cutting corners. He did the whole project with quality which we are very happy about. When he needed to replace lath and plaster, he brought in his specialist Carlos, who did an excellent job with the plastering. The 1890's house did not faze him, even when thousands of carpenter ants showed up in the damaged portion. He was very creative in replacing the old wood and then building and expanding the deck. We now have new, sturdy balcony/deck off our bedroom on the second floor. We will use his company again in the near future to repair some other parts of our home. He communicated well with us and kept us abreast of all the issues at all times. His personality is warm, engaging and he is very reliable. We highly recommend him for projects, especially those which require courage to tackle and creativity to see through. We feel fortunate that we found Javier on YELP! Doug and Heljä

Truly impressed and grateful for the craftsmanship and originality of the custom piece Graham…read morecreated. I was looking for a unique home office installation that could function as a workspace while also housing my library of music, photo albums, and books. I also had some specific wish list items such as a "hiding" bourbon nook. While the functionality of the piece was crucial, I would dare to say the aesthetic was even more important to me. My hope was that the space would be so inviting and inspiring that even after I'd hang up ye ole' work hat, that I'd still want to linger in the room to unwind with a good book, some good tunes (and maybe a tumbler of good bourbon too...). I've dropped in some photos of the finished product as well as my original crappy doodle of what I was looking for and will try to upload a few photos once I get everything settled. Graham and his small but mighty team were amazing to work with from start to finish. Graham was highly collaborative and offered phenomenal suggestions. My favorite was his suggestion to situate the bookshelves above the desk at an angle. This provided more of an ample workspace and also added to the artistic flare of the piece. I plan on hanging up a canvas print in between the bookshelves, so the orientation of the shelves will also guide the eye to the print. Because Willson Woodworking is pretty much a one person show, it took a few months from when I gave the green light to when the finished product was installed. However, Graham and team were upfront from the beginning about how many projects were queued up prior to mine. It is beyond worth it to have a one-of-a-kind piece that is of the highest quality rather than something that is mass produced and can be found in every other home. One other note on value: I did reach out to two other contractors about the project before deciding on Willson Woodworking. One was a local handyman, and one was a closet solutions company. All three quotes came in at roughly the same price. I think this speaks volumes about just how reasonable Willson Woodworking was in terms of pricing. This was definitely an investment regardless of which contractor I chose, but there was no comparison between the three in terms of the finished product. Shout out to Kevin, who professionally painted the shelves (regent blue). Like Graham, Kevin was kind enough to stop by my house and talk through thoughts on color choices. Plus, he helped Graham install the finished product! Another shout out to Raychel, who coordinated the administrative components of the project. Full disclosure: I'll be posting this same review on other platforms as I want to be sure to champion this local vendor!

Oh my goodness. These people are horrible. I hired the to install tile. The first week, they…read moresent a person , 1 person despite saying it would be a "crew". The man did not bring proper tools, kept saying he would, never did, and I ended up buying the tool to try and expedite. Owner never tried to provide tools needed and blamed the guy he hired. Week one was spent taking up 200 sq ft of old floor but not all the motar. Power said he had aa crew down with prior job. Could start Monday. I would have all three. I had 3 guys half a day. Ended up one guy, everyone else gone. Poor communication. One day I am told "tomorrow, final demo and dry fitting cement board. Didn't happen. There was another day of demo and some incorrect dry fitting. This is the point at which I said no more. What really sent me over the edge was they turned my water off on Wednesday and I advised multiple times I had an appointment and needed to leave by 230. The owner was supposed to come back before I.Left and turned the water back on. He texted me at two twenty seven and said he was about twenty minutes away. I was so mad and I had to go, so I did if they were. Said he'd come back that night later from Bloomington. I guess and turn the water back on, but I said, forget it. I tried to do it myself, and I couldn't, so I spent a night without water. It is so disrespectful, in my opinion to tell somebody. You will be there before they leave. But then don't be there, and they end up having a night without any water. I had new flooring company come out who said as they looked in the bathroom that they had broken my plumbing pipe. Now I have to have that replaced and have a drywall person in to fix that. I asked for a refund of the unspent.Amount I had paid up front. The owner is giving me the run. Around and now he won't respond at all. I have a lot of texts that show everything i'm saying, if anybody wants to see them. The owner told me that I have very unrealistic expectations. That could be true. But when the new flooring guys told me what it would take to fix the problems this company caused, it's less time than these guys already spent here. One of the workers for this company also told me that the they have been working on a job in Champaign for a month and a half, and they're nowhere near done. That's unverified by me. But now I have to sue this guy to get my money back. Also to get money for the plumbing that they damaged. And the drywall repair, which is another three hundred and fifty dollars. Beware. The values you read on their website which say what they are committed to are absolutely untrue, as it relates to my experience with them.
