VA had been a life altering…read moreexperience for me, but I had not planned to send my children due to the expense and wanting to keep them at home. However, my son went to VA his junior year after, thanks to Covid, spending far more time in isolation with his mother and looking at screens than any any 16 year old boy should have to. VA has been a fantastic experience for him socially, emotionally, academically, and physically. He participated in soccer, which he had never played before, and really enjoyed it. He played on the hockey team, and while he has played on southern house teams for many years, he was one of the least experienced -- and his discomfort there was probably the only negative experience. This spring he participated in climbing and really loved it. He also missed a lot of school due to the flu, mono, and a death in the family. Teachers were very supportive and, while still holding him accountable, helped him to get caught up. He recently returned home and is already looking forward to fall and all of the opportunities that the fall will bring. As a parent, I have enjoyed being involved with the VA Parent Association, and as a graduate, being involved with the very active alumni associaition.

Mt review for the Hogan Sports Center a couple of years ago was a four-star and I wrote about how…read morethe dated equipment and weights in the upstairs weight room ran against the best efficiency of the place. Well, thanks to the donations of two clients of the Hogan Sports Center who defrayed the cost of renovations, the Hogan Sports Center gym is now brand new, with new equipment, new machines, new weights, and a totally new outlook. In addition, the student athletes who frequently were trying to do their team workouts while half the town was at the weight room, they now have their own varsity gym, located in what was one of the racketball courts downstairs, where they can drop weights without shaking the building. The staff is absolutely awesome. The offerings are also amazing, olympic size pool, yoga, Peloton, indoor running track, you name it. One totally complete facility.

I have always heard about how horrible this guy is, but always bought stuff there anyway because I…read morenever seen it for myself. Actually I did once when I came in for a transfer and he was hostile and belligerent, but he calmed down when he realized he was wrong, so I chalked it up to a bad day, and never told anybody about it. I have always defended this guy because the countless times I have been in there bought stuff, he's always been ok. I figured the customers who hate that place just had sensitivity issues, but I just experienced the obnoxious clown this guy actually is. I always just bought things from him, never asked him for 'help' with anything. I own so many pistols, I can even accurately guess how many, but never owned a Glock. A friend of mine who is a Glock fanatic since the first G17 came into America, finally wore me down last year and I bought the .22, a G44. I really liked it, so I got the G19. That has been flawless, so I just bought a G30. Something is wrong with it. Every case either hits me in the face, or flies straight up and lands on the gun, my hand or my arms (300 rounds so far). There is no limp-waisting going on. Even when I uncomfortably lock in (hold the gun rock solid), nothing changes. All the same ammo flies 8' out of my Springfield XD45. I called Glock, and they told me to see a certified armorer. I called the black ops shop guy, because he's listed as a Glock armorer. He was even more hostile than I experienced with the transfer above. First he mocked my proficiency, the after I stated my proficiency (even understated it), he said "Then you should be able to fix it yourself" in the same belligerent manner. My 50 years of handgun proficiency tells me there is something wrong with the gun and should have it looked at by someone more familiar with a Glock. Nothing mechanically or visually looks wrong, so as any intelligent human being I knew to take it to an expert instead of randomly buy parts until, or if, its fixed. All this guy would say was "Nothing in my Glock Armorer training says anything about hitting in face with cases". Is he some type of moron or just a straight up a**hole? I give him the symptom of the problem and he mocks me with a comment so lame I stared wondering if he was gaslighting me. I'm done with this guy. No time for his BS.

Paul is an amazing guy, a great hang, and instantly puts our nerves at ease while pushing us to improve and conquer our fears on the slopes. My wife (who recently started skiing) has improved to a confident blues skier under Paul's instruction! We would recommend Paul to anyone.

The most rewarding day of ski instructions my family has had by far. Paul was amazing. He talked…read morewith us days before the lesson so he had a feel for our needs, and even if he hadn't he was able to quickly diagnose the needs of all our children who were all at very different levels. Wether fine tuning a good skiier or starting from scratch Paul taught our kids so well, and in a way just right for them, and in a way in which they enjoyed (a first after lessons in many other places). Would certainly use Paul and suggest him to others!
