This is our go to park in the Natchez area. We go several times a year, and always stay here. It's only minutes from anything you want to do in Natchez, and has a great view we enjoy very much. It's a clean park with nice amenities. The television options have improved though we generally use our dish. The only thing I wish were better is their WiFi. It's painfully slow so I generally just end up using my data. We love it there and look forward to our next visit!

Well manicured lawn and RV sites

Very nice RV park conveniently located on Mississippi River in Vidalia LA directly across from historic Natchez MS. Extremely courteous and helpful staff. Nice concrete and brick paved walking/cycling path as well as many amenities. Lots to do here. Will be staying here often! Highly recommended!

In case of emergency this clearly indicates to call the local law enforcement agencies.

BUYER BEWARE!!! The good: Clean facility, pool and hot tub Some, but not all staff are friendly and competent. Jessica has exceptional customer service skills. The bad: Hot tub is not hot and you must ask that it be turned on. Dry and dusty for most of the stay. Dust covered everything. Park does not irrigate or water the grass. Avoid grass due to painful stickers. For primitive spots it appears that they are seasonal and staff offers inconsistent information. Arrived day after big October balloon festival, after dark, and were told by long time campers to go to far south end of park. Upon arrival extremely poor and dirty conditions of restrooms and shower rooms. These are city owned facilities and poorly maintained with spiders, roaches, black mold, etc. Was told that the facilities were being shut down for the season and all power cut and locked. Moved to the front closer to other campers, toilets, and club house. *Thank you*. The ugly: Some personal hygiene items stolen during the night, others were dumped in the garbage. Saw several un-registered guests access restrooms and clubhouse facilities contrary to posted signage. Had to listen to loud noise from river and levee traffic as well as sounds from plant at south end of park. This was constant and made sleeping difficult. One night a burglary alarm sounded all night long at the plant. A 911 dispatcher relayed that they were trying to locate the owner to turn off the alarm. Another lost night of sleep due to the alarm. When Hurricaine Patricia aftermath brought in torrential rains that caused flash flood warnings and road closures, as well as rained us out of our tent, we sought shelter - as posted and indicated by staff - in the laundry facility. We called the numbers posted to ask for any help such as Red Cross, storm shelters, churches, fire or police stations that could offer assistance during the height of the pounding wind and rain as we were told by day staff that we COULD NOT use the laundry / storm shelter. In essence, although we had already pre-paid, we had to remove everything from the facility placing it outside in the pounding rain. Several attempts to discover the protocol and make sense of the inconsistency met with extreme aggression and hostility by staff and then by local law enforcement who indicated that there was nothing they could do to help. Bottom line: if you are a traveling motorcycle or bicycle tourist avoid this location at all costs. They appear to cater only to RVers and have little business sense or business protocols in place for natural disasters and how to accommodate someone who is not in an RV. Besides the obvious humanitarian lines that were crossed during the real and present danger of flash floods and impassable roads, there was an obvious lack of a plan, inconsistent and hostile execution of the "owners" demands. That is just bad business. It is clear that this is a small town and perhaps, as some have suggested, it relies too heavily on Natchez for services. But with the fact that extreme weather events will continue and increase in the future, EVERY small town, business, public servant and civic leader should be on the same page and have an EMS plan codified. Otherwise: BUYER BEWARE!!!

Very friendly folks and well kept campground. They have, concrete, gravel and grass sites with full hookups. Our site was long enough for our 21' camper and two trucks. The grounds are well kept and manicured. We didn't use the pool but it looked really nice and inviting. It was extremely hot so we didn't sit outside much. We can't wait to comeback in the fall so we can enjoy the cooler weather.

Great spot to enjoy Natchez. Park and all the facilities were clean. No issues with hook-ups. All the spots south of the office are pull-through and have concrete pads. The spots on the north side are gravel and require back in, but offer more shade. I enjoyed watching the barges on the river. The walking path is great. On one of the evenings I could hear a rumble from the gravel plant south of the park, but could hear nothing from inside the camper. I wouldn't go for a late night walk through the neighborhood on the other side of the levy, but the park was constantly patrolled.

This park is a hidden gem. Staff was super friendly and park was beautiful. Spacious, concrete RV spots and it's located right on the river

Lovely property! Gravel parking lot to park in, and Brenda will offer to help carry you/your stuff…read moredown to the campsites. There was also an unloading spot that you could drive your car down to and she also let us borrow a wagon to haul our stuff from the car for the campsite. The campsites are close by each other so it can get loud when it's really full, but I didn't mind that - I almost felt like we had neighbors lol but if you are wanting something more private, please keep that in mind. There was a flushable toilet with a running sink and a small mirror. There's also a pavilion with some picnic tables and lights at night if you wanna play cards there. There was a porter potty near the campsites so that was another option for the bathroom aside from the flushable toilet that was just a little bit of a walk closer to the parking lot. Multiple water/dishwashing stations with big sinks (huge plus!) Firewood was five dollars a bundle and we ran through four in one night! (Bundles are kinda small.) We did have an electric campsite, which was just one outlet (it did have an extension cord attached to it, so if I would've known this, I would've brought some lights to hang up.) The fire pit is pretty big and it comes with a cooking grate. There is also lots of trees to hang up hammocks on. The tent pad was pretty big but I did ask for a campsite that could fit 3 tents - I saw some that were a lot smaller so you will just have to let her know what you want. We had site #8 - I would stay there again. We paid $98 for an electrical campsite for two nights with four people and four bundles of firewood. Not too bad. We didn't have too much of a problem with bugs, but I would definitely bring some bug spray next time. We did have some fire ants next to the fire, but they didn't get in our food. We also saw a good bit of spiders but you're in the woods so what do you expect lol. You're also only 15-20 minutes away from some great hiking trails! We went to Clarke Creek in Mississippi. There's another closer to the campsite I believe. Anyways, i'd come back here!

I love this place. Always nice to take a long walk to clear your mind, be around nature, or…read moreexercise.

&tldr; For campground, pick sites 22-49; AVOID sites 1-22…read more We recently booked 2 nights in Site 8, not knowing any better. Unlike most parks, signs here direct you to go straight to your site if you already have a reservation. There's no gate, nor place to check-in; the "office" is at the far end of the road past both campgrounds. Speaking of which: the road in has signs directing you to Campground A or Campground B; but those names aren't used in the reservation system. It turns out that Campground A is Sites 1-22, and Campground B is sites 22-49; we found out later that A is the "old" campground and B is the "new". Campground A is a nightmare. Our first problem was with the dump station, which is on the side of a narrow one-way road; problem being that it's just a tube sticking out of the ground ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE of the road. Our rig, like most out there, has the dump port on the DRIVER'S side; not sure WHAT the designers were thinking here. And the dump "station" has no water to available for rinsing/flushing either. After pulling into Site 8, we made the mistake of hooking up our filter+ hose to the spigot there and filling our fresh water tank, without CHECKING the water quality first. It wasn't until we went to fill our water bottles from the spigot afterwards that we realized the water coming out of it rotated through shades of white, tan, and brown - no matter how long you let the water run to try to "flush" the line first. Thinking it might just be our faucet, we tried the one in Site 7 too - with the same result. Attached photo is of the "cleanest" water we could get from the spigot after running it through our Camcorder water filter. The water coming out of the bathroom faucets seemed cleaner, but the stains on the porcelain implied that there were still contaminants in the water that were just hard to see. The showers were small stalls with shower curtains; no private changing area. Water was hot, with good water pressure though. The 30 Amp outlet at the site was also well abused - and looked to be of questionable safety. The next morning, we went to Campground B to see if things were better there. Much. We found an unoccupied site, and tested the water spigot: nice clean water. 30 Amp outlet was intact. Two shower stalls in the bathhouse: one with a private changing area, and one large enough to change in. The dump station on the way out of Campground B is standard / nice: dump hole on driver's side, with a threaded spigot (and cutoff hose available) for rinsing/flushing. We went to the office and switched to Site 30, no questions asked (the lady in the office was really nice). Campground B is near the water, and really quite pleasant. The only "ding" is that the washer and dryer in the bathhouse were both tagged"out of order". (Unfortunately, our Camco water filter was so badly fouled by the water in Campground A - continued to intermittently belch brown colored water, despite repeated flushing - that we had to replace it.)

Everyone we met there working or camping were friendly. As you looked around the park you could almost sense what it was like in its glory days. There was a well planned swimming hole (though now a huge tree lay in it), there are cute gazebos sprinkled throughout the park and a great trail that circled the lake. We floated around in our kayaks and Boots even was able to fish. I spent a day cleaning a walkway/trail that was so covered with years of debris that it was slippery and dangerous. The lack of attention to this (and SO many parks across the country) is sad. And we are so close to losing these gorgeous spots due to lack of attention. An added bonus was that the little towns nearby had everything we needed for some camper repairs and such.

If you love he outdoors, solitude and dirt roads, the Clear Springs Recreation area is the place…read morefor you. Most people who visit this part of the Homochitto National Forest do so for either camping or lakefront activities. The lake here is typical of Mississippi lakes which is to say that it is beautiful, filled with fish and if you really want, you can swim in it. Surrounding the lake there are several picnic tables, shelters and permanently mounted charcoal grills. The lake has an area sectioned off for swimming, but let me warn you, this is no swimming pool. While I haven't personally swam in this lake, I have swam in many like it. Feel a little nibble while you're swimming? That's not your girlfriend, that's a perch. If you think that will freak you out, don't swim here. All of the stuff I just wrote about is great, but it is not why I visited here. My visit was a result of a guy at work telling me all about the dirt roads that run throughout the forest. Since it was a holiday weekend I couldn't get a map to find the roads so I just set out exploring. If dirt roads are what you are interested in, this is the section of the park to find them. Right before you come to the area to pay your fee there will be a gravel road toward your left. Do yourself a favor and follow it. The roads that traverse this park offer an amazing journey. There are actually several different roads, many of which my GPS picked up. The roads were labeled with numbers, but the main one was listed as Wagon Wheel Road on my GPS. Since the roads are gravel even a car can pass easily, but a truck or 4x4 would allow you to do what I did. Along the gravel roads there are many smaller dirt roads. I believe they are all part of the national forest road system, but they are not labeled. They are also more difficult to traverse and some even required high ground clearance and four wheel drive. I spent hours exploring this forest. During that time I never saw any other people. It was very peaceful. So why would anyone want to drive through a great expanse of forest on a dirt road? If you have to ask, this is probably not the place for you. If you enjoy this sort of thing, this is a great place to get away from it all.

We tent camped by the lake, but there are primitive sites way off the beaten track. It is a large forest with 20+ miles of trails. They were well marked along the trail itself but hard to find when you are crossing over the fire roads and connectors. We spent half the day on the trails and would have kept going if we would have brought more supplies. We only found the Richardson Trail worth biking and the pine smell and rolling hills were well worth all the energy we exerted. The Mill Road is a nice hike, just very rooty. Tally's is closed at the camping entrance, but we had to take it to connect to the Richardson for biking- it is also rooty. Highly recommend this spot! Note You can't make camping reservations early and RVs are not allowed.
