She informed me as well that they are full and stay full, so it helps to email her every so often to remind her we are still wanting to be on the list. In no way did she imply this was anything other than to just let her know we haven't gone elsewhere. She said she can go down her list calling 15 families before she finds someone who is actually ready to start. I can't imagine how many emails she gets like this since I've heard of some families waiting an entire year for a spot. Shelli took me on an hour long tour discussing each classroom, the teachers, methods, etc. She was very gracious and friendly and all the children were greeting her and some even asked her for hugs. This led me to believe Shelli is out in the classes, not sitting behind a desk all day. I actually got teary when I saw all the activities these kids were enjoying. This is NOT a daycare. It is a school where the teachers, and Shelli take pride in their students. The walls are covered with pictures made by the children, pictures of the children gardening, playing dress up etc. and cubbies full of wellies (mandatory) so the kids can play in the outside garden and make mud pies. Teachers send pictures and progress reports home about what they are learning. This is absolutely a wonderful place and I think the reviews should reflect the school itself. I know three families whose children go here and I can't say enough good things about their experience here. I only wish my son could start here right away!

He threw a fit because they tried to force him to eat and he was not hungry. In the end we were told he would not be allowed to return. We were stunned by this. They are clearly not prepared to handle kids who get upset. This was a shock to us, we expected so much more from a Christian organization. As I said, my son enjoyed it and was very upset he was told he cannot go back and we were all very sad for him to feel unwanted.

When we mentioned that he now has good grades and should probably stop attending he was all upset and refused to do that because he loves getting alternatives way of doing math from the way he learns in class. Mr Vane is the heart of Mathnasium, he really makes math fun for kids with his different ways of teaching it and all his little "tricks" he teaches them. The fact that he is always present makes a very big difference on the tutors who know they can't goof off and need to do their best teaching. Nap is from about 11:30 to 2:30. My child only wears pull-ups to nap. I have come at both 4:00pm and 5:00pm to my child still in a pull up, at that point very full. I even caught we a teacher surprised I came early one day and hurrying to cover up that she had my child keep the pull up on. There is a quick turn over for caretakers and the children are faced with extremely inconsistent days. There is no true structure and very limited learning going on in this facility and I would advise any one looking into childcare to not chose Kindercare, or at least not this location. I would also like to note, I am not a normally dramatic mother, but I fear parents will chose this location without the true facts of this facility and therefore put their child in the wrong hands unknowingly. Please avoid this, there are so many other options for your child.

I was there for only 4 years until graduation. I was lucky enough to receive a full scholarship for tuition and living expenses ($60,000) to a highly rated Private liberal arts college in New York, so I believe I was somewhat prepared. However, I had an undiagnosed auditory processing and aphasia learning issue which in those days was just swept under the rug. I took advantage of my time at college then moved abroad so I am unsure whether I could say my education from Edison was great. It was public school sink or swim.
