I needed a place to wash our clothes while visiting Chicago. Downtown really didn't have any laundry mats and the dry cleaners was a bit pricey. Took an uber here and I was pleased with this establishment. The place was very clean, the owner was vacuuming the dryers and the restroom was clean. I felt safe there coming in super early on a Sunday at 6am. The lady there was very helpful. She helped suggest the amount of money for the dryer usage and followed up with me to make sure I was okay doing my laundry. I used a really large washer to wash my clothes: 9.25 a load and 75cents for dry everything. They had tv to watch sports or news and it started to get busy around 7 to 8am!! Washers were fine. Change machine worked. Our washing machine at home broke for a family of five so we had a lot of laundry to do while waiting for home repairs. The dryers did not work very well at all. We spent nearly as much time and money on the dryers as the washers. Very frustrating. We left with several loads of damp clothes after 48 minutes in the dryers. Only two of the six dryers we used dried our clothes sufficiently. Haven't had to use a laundromat in years, but washer is out and need to use one in the meantime. They have all sizes of washers here; the smallest one is a "Double Loader" for $4.00, which, incidentally, holds a smaller load than my apartment-sized front loader. Laundromat itself is dated but appears relatively clean on the surface. Went here at 6:30 Saturday morning, only 2 other people here. Parking lot is a plus. Also, there is a disclaimer on their change machine that states that it gives out a mix of quarters and non-refundable tokens that are usable only at this laundromat. The laundry machines at my daughter's apartment are out of commission so we came here to do a big batch of laundry. This facility is large and clean with on-site management. Plenty of parking (adjacent to a Jewel Osco). All machines seem to be in working order and change machine on-site. We were one of about 4 other customers -- not crowded at all but it was early on a Wednesday morning. The only drawback might be the limited number of chairs to sit in while you wait, but since it wasn't crowded, this was not an issue for us. They never honor the closing time. Just change your hours if your employees are always going to leave early so customers can plan accordingly! Instead of not knowing when you actually close! My stuff has been locked up overnight 3 times since they closed well before the posted closing time: one time at least 45 minutes early, another time 30 minutes early, another 15 minutes early. No posted sign or note saying if there was an emergency or something, which would be totally understandable. And sometimes I just needed to dry a load if I use my friend's washer and when I've come in around "last wash" time, I've been refused service. I work nights so late evening hours are the only time I'm able to do this here. And I really wanted to like them because they are super close to my place, have parking, etc. despite being a little on the expensive side. ​ read more

Been coming here for a few months now because it is much faster than doing laundry at my apartment. It's also much more cost effective because the washers and dryers are way larger than a standard in-home w/d. Prices here are pretty reasonable for how many loads you can do at once and the machines are pretty clean. Only complaint I have about the place is that it could've a bit more updated, but that's really it. I can't speak on the drop off laundry service but there are people in and out of here all the time for it so I imagine it's pretty good. read more

It pains me to knock this place down a star, considering the serious crapfest that other laundromats provide. But can't we strive for better? Why this is going from fandom to A-OKdom: --Increasing numbers of "out of service" signs on the dryers and large washers. After a while you realize that the first out-of-order machine you saw several visits ago didn't repaired, and the rest aren't getting repaired, and the ranks just keep falling... --Increasingly defective dryers. Not completely out of service, just functional enough for you to trust it with your load before discovering that it doesn't blow hot air, or the door doesn't really seal. That said, the ladies have been considerate enough to point out to me, before I added my quarter, that the dryer I had selected was going to disappoint me. Extremely kind, but frustrating when so many other options are out of order. See my earlier review for the positive things this location still has going for it. Despite the perpetually wet floor, it's tremendously less gross than other laundromats, and I continue to feel safe there. It's just not as great as it's been. read more

A long story of disappointment and disgust!!! I dropped off my Full/Queen size comforter at 12:30 pm. I asked how soon it could be finished. First, she tells me 1 hour, then she tells me 3 o'clock. When the receipt is printed, it says it will be done at 5 pm. The receipt also lists my comforter as "king XL". I go back inside to show that my comforter is a Full/Queen. She tells me that the price is the same no matter what. Not wanting to make a big deal, I just said ok and left. I go back at 6 pm, 1 hour AFTER the time it should be done. My comforter is hanging over a cart in the middle of the aisle way. There are 2 employees standing and giggling with each other and didn't even notice I was standing there. Another employee came over and pointed their attention to me. Finally, I point out my comforter and then see that it has 2 stains on it. They start brushing them off with their hands and tell me they are not stains, but probably just dust or something because of people walking by... EW! My comforter is supposed to be clean when I pick it up! I have brought items several times in the past and I don't even want to think about how my they were handled. Now since I have seen... I will NEVER return and I wouldn't recommend anyone leaving their things there either! read more

In the last year, my pup has had two accidents on her favorite bed. It's my fault for my letting my schedule get in the way of taking her out. Poor Maggie! The doggy bed is fairly large, so I had to find a washer and dryer that could handle the load. Luckily, Riverpoint is really close to me. The facility is clean with a lot of washers and dryers. The staff never said anything to me, but then again I was in a bit of hurry to get this not-so-fun task done. Overall, this place was OK. I mean, it's a laundromat. They are very quick to turn around the laundry. Everything is ALWAYS done perfectly, from the wash to the folding and packaging for pick up. I know they do pickup and drop off, too. A girl with a bad bleach job and a worse attitude told me I had to leave. They were closed. I told her I checked the website. She wasn't impressed. I pointed to the sign that said last wash at 9:30. She still didn't care. I pleaded that I rented a zipcar. Finally! A response-- it was "not her problem". This is where I go to wash my delicates and not-so-delicates. Oh who am I kidding, I throw it all into one of their big industrial washers for $4.25 (3 loads in one!). In a flash, I am ready to dry (25 cents for 10 minutes) and I am that much closer to ending the misery that is laundry. Extra bonuses include the fact that RCL stays open until 11PM (although it used to be 24 hours). Last loads at 9:30 PM and they mean it (I have seen offenders tossed out!). Another bonus is the fact that it's right next to Dominick's so while you wash you can multitask and pick up some groceries (or browse the magazine rack, whatever tickles your pickle). As noted, there is a drop-off service that is legit because while I do my drying, I see employees drying and folding constantly - they do a good job. I just have too many things I don't dry at all, pull out after 10 minutes, etc. to go the drop off route. Risky. read more

I have been doing my laundry here on and off for about 10 years. I have one washer and one dryer in my building so anytime I let my clothes pile high I would take it there to do. I always found the staff friendly and the place very clean. I started taking advantage of their drop off service about 3 years ago after having kids and found it impossible to go down to the basement with or without them. One day our laundry started piling up and my husband said "bag up all the dirty clothes I'll take it to the laundry-mat and wash them!" Well he brought all the clothes back, perfectly folded and very clean ... his secret ... he dropped it off and after that I was hooked! When we figured out the cost, it's actually not that much more than doing it myself. I'm not sure which employees the customers were referring to that had a bad experience with but the entire staff has always been very friendly to me from day one. Christina and Trinadad are the absolute best! There's a new owner, Alice, that bought it about a year ago. She's usually always there and is making sure customers are happy and taken care of. One day I picked up my laundry and I picked up the bag and I said to her, man this is heavy, I have to start working out. The next time I picked up my laundry it was in 2 bags so it wouldn't be so it wouldn't be so heavy for me to carry. The employees seem happier since her family took over as well. My last comment is I have washed my laundry there myself a few times last year and I didn't have any issues with the washers or dryers being broken. So, it's a laundromat. If you want to be at a spa, I suggest you go find one because this ain't it. I used to go do laundry with my mom as a kid and this is pretty much a standard place. Giant washers are $4.25 (three loads) and regular washers are $2.00. Dryers cost .25 for ten minutes, and they're huge so stuff dries fast. It's very clean inside but their washing machines leave your clothes sopping wet, so wet they they were heavy to even get them in the dryer. Of course that meant that I literally had to dry my clothes 5-6 cycles. Huge waist of time and money. How about spinning the clothes first?!! So about 25% of the machines at this place have an Out of Order sign on them. The machines that do "work" don't quite work well like they should. For example, you can select hot water on the top loaders like I did and upon checking the water by opening and touching it, the temp was cold. As far as cost, yes we know their rent is expensive based on the area, but compared to other laundromats I use, a quarter for the dryers there gets you 10 minutes vs 13 minutes at other places. If you want a free extra minute use dryer 28, btw. Even at high heat it took over 40 minutes to dry something that would take 26 minutes at my regular laundromat. No sink for you to apply stain remover on your soiled clothes, either. So if you need a sink, don't bother wasting your time here. Overall a very aggravating wash experience that took 2-3 hours vs my regular 1.5 hour. If I were management, I would remove the flyers requesting yelp reviews until they address all the issues they have. read more

I was a regular for 4 years. Overall, they did right by me: the employees I got to know on a first-name basis where very nice to me (special shout-out to Trini and Yolanda) and they offer the cheapest laundry drop-off in Lincoln Park at $1 x pound. My 2 star rating is due to what happened just before I moved away: the staff lost 2 pairs of jeans and the owner, Alice, went about it horribly... After patiently waiting a month to see if the jeans would turn up, I told the staff to notify the owner and have her call me to discuss compensation. Instead, I was merely told on the following visit that the owner had approved a $20 credit for the two pairs of lost jeans. That pissed me off. That didn't cut the loss and the fact that I didn't even get a call was insulting. This is what happened over the course of a week... * Got on the phone with her and loosely agreed on me going ahead and replacing one pair of jeans and bringing her the receipt. A pair of my jeans cost about $50 before shipping/tax + $20 credit = $70 ($30 loss overall) * Realized that one of the missing jeans was actually my fiancee's and cost $129 * I purchased her pair instead and dropped off the receipt * Got strong pushback, explained the new development and had to work her up to a combined $60 credit at the laundromat + a $40 prepaid visa card. * I wanted to get on with my life so I accepted * I moved away, left $20 unused credit at the laundromat and discovered that the $40 prepaid visa card was actually for $25.13 because she or someone she knows made two purchases on it before giving it to me. Unbelievable. Thanks Alice. Riverpoint is A-OK for the price/convenience/very nice and caring staff. I just hope you don't have to suffer the owner's horrible customer service if something happens. read more

This is a very clean facility. I always see the staff mopping and wiping down the machines between folding loads from the drop off service. I used to do drop off, but found it too expensive. The jewel is right next door so it's easy to drop off a load, do your grocery shopping, fold it up and go home. read more

Worst laundry I have been to. Came here to save time on the commute but it was a big mistake, as it took at least 3X the normal time to wash... You wonder why? Well, on one of the washers, they had to redo it since the machine refuses to use hot water. The drying? That took longer than if I would have dried the clothes with a hair dryer. Employees? Don't look happy to be there, and I don't blame them, neither was I. I'd suggest to drive a few minutes more to another laundromat, it might actually save you time and some quarters in the end. I would avoid this place if you can. It's clean, but there are not enough places to sit and wait for your laundry. Also, it says on Yelp they accept credit cards - they don't. I asked the lady at the counter about this and if they had an ATM/where the closest one was, she barely lifted her eyes from her magazine and was very short with me. Extremely rude customer service.I stood at the desk waiting for service for 10 minutes , then I approached the lady working there- she would not come to the service window until I approached her even though she was watching me standing there. This is one of the nicest laundromats I've been to. The place is very clean, the employees are constantly sweeping and cleaning. It is a little pricey, but consistent with prices elsewhere. The area doesn't seem unsafe to me, but at night the outside can seem a little creepy (it is next to an alley). I have been going here weekly for half a year and have had no issues with incorrect change from the machines or anything like that. They also have a service where they can clean and fold your laundry if you can afford it. The employees have always been very nice to me, and on occasion have even helped me fold my laundry! Some of the employees don't speak English very well, but that is pretty consistent with the other laundromats I've been to. read more

I really like this laundromat. My wife has tried several and after she found this place she insisted that I use this when I'm on laundry duty. There are a wide variety of washing machine sizes so I can pick a bigger machine when I have a heavy load. The owner Alice is usually on site and she is super friendly. She keeps everything clean.
