The school brought a love and desire for learning to our child. Our daughter was very shy and struggled to communicate with anyone she didn't associate with on a constant basis and she would cry and hide if she was made the center of attention. The school's natural environment is encouraging children to come out of their shells. It's been an amazing transformation to watch her grow in confidence and learn to love doing something even if people are watching. At our daughter's first parent/teacher meeting the director/primary teacher said "She may never want to get up in front of a group and talk or perform but we will give her tools to use to be able to do it." We watched our daughter dread getting up in front of other to now excited to show off what she enjoys. It's been a beautiful transformation. I've never seen an environment where so many children of all ages love one another so much. The older kids look out for the younger ones and set an example that is exemplary. I feel so at ease that my child is getting good influences from her peers. Her classmates are encouraging to one another and rally to help a classmate in need and cheer them on The teachers and staff truly care about what's best for your child to make sure they are getting what they need and are progressing in their curriculum. They put emphasis on the process of a task over just completing it, so our daughter feels pride doing the steps that lead to the completion of the task just as much as feeling the joy of finishing something. I love that our daughter will have the same teachers for multiple years, I feel this will be invaluable to her growth because they know her and know what her capabilities are. I also love that she gets plenty of one on one time with the teachers as well. Everyone is great at communication if you reach out to them or need something, which is amazing because there is a clear and open dialog for whatever your questions or needs may be. Overall we think its a wonderful school and as a parent you can be as involved as you want to be with the many special events the parent's put on for the children. Honest Review: This school is overcrowded, more than 4500…read morestudents and more than 60 portables. Expect walking and being late to class. The deans treat you miserably and teachers agree with it, they treat kids as if they were prisoners (I am not joking). They treat you in an aggressive way. NO SCHOOL SPIRIT. The principal and classes like SGA organized spirit weeks where it was suggested to dress in a certain way (e.g. White out). It was a complete success at the beginning of the year, but at the end of the year everyone was crazy to end the term and nobody paid attention to them because no one felt identified enough with the school Brand new principal, she seems cool and she is "trying" to get the school spirit back with pep rallies and supporting sports... She only supported the football team, which does not win a single game (it doesn't matter when you read this), and made the soccer and baseball teams (which had more level than the Football team) provide their own transportation to their away matches, when they provided 3 buses per away match for the football team. They even spent more money on a Pink out uniform, which they used it for one match. Also, the waterpolo team (back to back states champions) do not receive transportation either. Really strict with their rules, they once took my phone away because I was using it and I was not even in class. They were always taking away AirPods, even at lunch. They would give dress code to literally anything because it's "distractive", but they allow people to go with chains that look like dog leashes. I am a man, I was never affected by dress code but it is ridiculous how far they can go with it. Most of the teachers do not care at all about you, you can be out for 3 weeks and they do not even think or ask about you. I should mention there are a few that do, and they are incredible teachers that are actually interested in making a connection with you. The ladies from the Registrar Office and the Attendance Office will become your worst nightmare, they treat you horribly and do not help, they are not comprehensive at all and they are not gonna listen to you. About counselors, I was really lucky in having Ms. Williams as my counselor, she was amazing, she actually knew who I was and actually helped and cared about me. However, all of my friends were constantly complaining on their counselors because they were useless and did not help at all. Also, they almost expelled me because I have a business (outside of school) and students were usually my clients, and they viewed it as if I was making business inside of school, ridiculous. They couldn't get me out I was in another school in another state, the experience is totally different. People in this school do NOT like to be there, I can guarantee you that if you ask randomly whether they like LNHS they will either say no or that they are tired for the day. Be really careful when exiting the school, there are students that drive like complete maniacs. I almost got ran over because there was a guy that did not want to make the line and was going against traffic just to get out faster, I wrote down his plate and reported it. They did NOTHING about it and he kept doing it every single day. I should mention that if you are a latino, you are part of the 70% latino population that is at the school, you will eventually find a group that speaks the same language and share culture.

I gave it 4 stars, because I think their student record system should possibly include a copy of their student ID for clearer identification. I understand mistakes happen, however, through personal experience, it would help if staff (both permanent and temporary) had better accountability of students as far as who is who, especially when medical issues arise. The only other issue here is parking on even nights. It's not terrible, but sometimes, I wonder how the parents of over 1000 students are supposed to all fit their vehicles in that small little parking area? That is all... other than that, great school!

No matter if I have had to go in to pick my child up early or go in for a meeting with the counselors they have always been polite and easy to work with. The children are issued school laptops to do their work on which I think is great to get them ready for using computers in college and every day life. The school grounds are nice and well maintained. I consider it an excellent school and plan on my younger two children attending there as well
