Went to lunch with my boss and he chose this restaurant because it was close to USF. The restaurant itself is fairly simple, with about 10 tables, a counter to order and pay at, a fountain soda machine (they are Pepsi people) and bathrooms to the right as you walk in. We got there at 12:30 and it was empty, but quite a few people came in for pick-up orders. The place was clean and while I didn't use the restrooms, my boss did and everything was in order. They have the entire menu above the counter, but also provide a paper m The menu is just what the name suggests: seafood and chicken, although they do have a burger and a Philly steak sandwich on the menu. I ordered the #10 Oysters & Shrimp. The man taking our orders asked if I wanted them fried regular or crispy. First time anyone has asked me that. I ordered crispy, with fries and hushpuppies. They serve everything in styrofoam to-go containers and while the place is not fancy, the food was great! My oysters were yummy and the shrimp were well seasoned. Fries were good and the hushpuppies were very good. I only ate half of my meal and took the rest home for dinner. My boss ordered the #6 fish (tilapia) and he really enjoyed it. So I ordered takeout for hubby and dad (no cooking!). They had a few lunch specials and hubby got the basa fried fish and fries combo, while I ordered a #7 fish & shrimp for dad. I thought the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food that was served. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other combos. read more

The service was GREAT! I am the sole researcher for all good eats/things to do wherever we go and Riverside did not disappoint. Our extended family members enjoyed the food and service. People came in and out picking up orders, but we chose to sit down. The restaurant is clean and the food was fresh and hot. Food was very tasty and had generous portions. I had the shrimp poboy and my wife had the fish sub sandwich. She added $1 for the upgrade to catfish. With soda, bill came to $31. Service at the register was quick and thorough. How ever, you will have to wait since they make your food only after you order it, which is good. My food came in hot and smoking ! Ambiance Was okay, there were about 10 tables but most orders were take out. It was a clean place, parking was sufficient. Love it. Second Riverside I know closer to me. At least this location well plan with nicer interior. Table is well place and room for dining. We start with the conch fritters. Good value and enough conch meat. Fritter fried correctly. The second dish is the blackened 15 shrimp blackened shrimp a la carte. The shrimp is big. Good blackened seasoning. The last dish is the 15 fried shrimp. I like the coating. Overall is good seafood place. The combo plate is affordable. Value for the seafood also good. read more

I ordered the fish platter with 3 filets of grouper. I went to pick it up and I assume the owner was at the counter. Very hectic and spasztic. Felt like I was being pushed out the door. I opened up the box in my car and there were two filets and the breading looked like cardboard. I went back in to inquire and he told me he gave me four filets and they were fried together. That was not the case. I tried this place because my Dad had brought it up. I would not recommend this location at all. Better fish at Wing Xpress. read more

Easily the best deal for a seafood boil that I've had in tampa. You can't even see all of the food in this picture. Underneath the crab is 1/2 lb of char grilled sausage, two hard boiled eggs, 10 jumbo shrimp and about a pound of boiled potatoes. The shrimp, and especially the crab were cooked perfectly. The crab pulled out of the shell in big pieces instead of having to dig it out. For $40 it's easily enough for two people and maybe three. The one thing I have a tiny complaint is that the seasoning was pretty bland but I just sprinkled more Old Bay on it and everything was fine. Ordered through Ubereats one night and the food is decent. The food is comparable to Salems or Wing Express. Overly salty fried dishes for a cheap price. My meal was okay but is this something I'd eat on a regular? No. Riverside seafood and chicken is considered drunk food. I got fried tilapia for my husband, fried catfish for me & shrimp and fries for my kids. The fish was great, but the shrimp were overcooked, the hush puppies taste like cake, it had so much sugar in them, no onion flavor or anything, just nasty. The rice was full of oil and undercooked, and the fries, lord did they even get cooked??? For the money I spent I'm highly disappointed. read more

I went to this restaurant on Tuesday, December 9th,2025 . I ordered a lunch of Grouper, french fries, black beans and rice. The food was ok, probably better than most of the places in the surrounding area. However, the staff took my debit card when I paid, and kept running it through over and over, claiming that my card wasn't working. That was a lie. Apparently , their machine was malfunctioning, and they claimed they could not process my order, They finally sent me next door to ring up the order on another machine. When I got home, there were 3 additional charges put on my card for 23.61, in addition to the actual charge of 23.61. I have tried for 4 days to get this resolved, and they kept telling me the manager would call me, which he never did. They then tried to get me to come in person, and I decided to let the bank handle it. For my own personal safety, I do not feel comfortable going there alone. This location is on Fletcher and 15th street in Tampa near USF. I would say to prospective customers, Beware. Don't let this happen to you, because they are not coming clean about this and reversing their bogus charges. I used to eat Riverside Seafood & Chicken when it was located in Zephyrhills. I loved it then and I still love it now since they moved to Tampa on Fletcher Ave. I think they have a little more options on meals. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi. It was with yellow rice, shrimp and Old Bay. Who knew those simple ingredients would be so great. The service was quick and precise. It was empty when I went during lunch time but I don't think it'll be too empty much longer. I think everyone should eat here if your craving for something fried and if you're it looking to spend a lot of money. I haven't had wings from here yet but that's next when I visit.
