I do love the Riverwinds community center it is a great place for families,sports music walking nice gym. The pool area is a great idea but there would be more people swimming if it LOOKED CLEANER. I know they have drained the pool a few times for maintenance but they need to take advantage of that and clean the sides and bottom of pool. I saw kids cleaning sides of pool and that was on bring your kid to work day. I wanted a scraper to clean the pool sides or bring my own.clean or paint bottom of pool when maintenance is being done. Seems like no one in management cares. and it's obvious it needs to be brought back to life. I still go in pool using water shoes. And cringe read more

Simply beautiful & HUGE complex of walking trails, sports fields, banquet rooms, the amphitheater and of course their restaurant. Today's visit was for SOBERSTOCK 2019. Joey's band - CLASSYFIED - played right before the featured act. Two other bands played prior. RW provided an incredible sound crew and their staff overall was amazing. We had a private room with their yummy food. The event was decently attended and celebrated and benefited sobriety. read more

I've had a membership at Riverwinds since moving into town here several years ago... This community offers plenty... A fitness gym that makes going to Bally's or LA Fitness useless, a huge competition pool with diving platforms, two slides, and a kids pool... Seniors classes for creating arts and crafts, basketbal, dodgeball, and wiffleball leagues, karate classes, rock climbing, fitness trainers.... the list inside goes on.. Outside there are several trails and walkways, wooded and alongside the Delaware River, Riverwinds Golf Course, a waterfront restaurant, and an amphitheatre where there are free concerts every Friday night during the summer... Overall a good place to relax or workout.. While it sounds like solely a fitness center, it offers much more than just fitness... read more

Went to this fabulous waterfront restaurant with near-panoramic views from almost every angle on Mother's Day with relatives and had a wonderful time here! The menu from appetizers to entrees to desserts contained some mouthwatering selections. I started with the Caprese tomato tower; very fresh and stacked with yellow and red tomatoes, slices of tender mozzarella cheese and fresh garden basil leaves...steak was tender and cooked to order...dessert was my fave: a peanut-butter and chocolate confection; a perfect pairing with a great cup of joe! The waitstaff is attentive, personable, and orders are dispatched in timely fashion so that one may enjoy each selection without the worry of being rushed into finishing before the next one arrives. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal at a restaurant with spectacular views, all relatively close to home. read more

We moved to the area last year. So we thought getting a discount on the gym would be a steal. It isn't terrible. But their lack of weight machines makes me want to find another gym when our contract is up. There have been a few times when I wanted to use a leg machine and someone was using it. Not a big deal- except for the person using it sat there for well over ten minutes lifting 10 lbs. Not to be rude but at a gym where there is only one of that machine you should try to not take forever at a peak time. The pool is ok- we joined mostly for this but only used it once or twice. The facility is clean. The roof leaks when it rains a lot- they always move equipment though. I actually think the grounds around the center is better than the gym itself- it just sucks when its cold because who likes to exercise outside when it's cold! The basketball courts are a cool plus too. Except we didn't realize they're often used for community events- not only basketball but wrestling and other things too. The rock climbing is cool too but I've never tried because I'm kind of embarrassed. I'm not sure if it's just for children and I'm kind of old. The thing I'm bummed the most about are the classes. All of the other gyms I've joined in the past had classes for free (including in your membership fee- which was close to what I'm paying now at Riverwinds- with the half off!). But at Riverwinds- they are a separate/extra charge and I'm definitely not paying more than I'm already paying. I've recently see some spots on the community Facebook page about the babysitting portion of the center. Something about once your child turns four you have to include them in your gym membership. I don't have children so I'm not sure- just passing on the info. The inside track is one of the best amenities I think. They have a pretty good amount of cardio equipment- even some in the catwalk of the gym so you don't have to be surround by people and you can watch basketball games or wrestling matches instead of TVs. Overall, it's an OK gym. I don't thnik I'll be continuing my membership when it's up though. I need more equipment/better access to equipment. I think it'd be helpful if they maybe had two of some of the popular machines. And they should not charge for classes. read more

I'm currently 3 weeks into a 6 week swim clinic hosted by ETA Coach at the RiverWinds Community Center Pool. So, my experience with this facility is somewhat limited to only what I encounter from the parking lot to the pool. That said, it's a decent pool. The lanes are a standard 25 meters, and the water is kept at a nice temperature. There are actually 2 pools - one laned pool, and another which is huge, and seems more for families and stuff. The other pool has a large slide (I am dying to go down it, but I'm not sure I'm allowed since I'm only there for swim clinic and not an actual member - LOL), and several whirlpools. The pool area itself is actually quite hot/humid, but the water, at least in the laned pool, is a good temperature. The locker room is on the cold side, especially coming out of the water, but it's large and very clean. There is a nice looking shower area, which I haven't used. The only thing I'd change about the pool is the fact that I think it is chlorine treated. I much prefer a saline treated pool. Also, I have to give some props to the staff. Two weeks ago I left my sunglasses in a locker after changing. The following week when I got there, I asked a woman at the front desk about their Lost and Found. She went in the back, and brought back 3 pairs of sunglasses, one of which was mine! I was thrilled not to have lost my only pair of sunglasses, which I've probably had for about 5 years - a record for me! I wish I could comment on the rest of the facility, because it really seems like it is great. The front area is huge, open and clean. It looks like there is an indoor track upstairs, which could be nice for doing speed workouts in when it's too hot in the summer or tracks are iced over in the winter. I also often walk by some basketball courts which usually have a game going on with young children. But as far as the pool itself goes, it's a quality pool for training. read more

Nice place for swimming but not for work out. Machines are dirty and carpet too. Trash and hair under some machines. I waited 5 months. I thought they clean everything but they didn't. I have to turn a blind eye when using machines. Disappointed. read more

This was our first time to the facility and it truly exceeded out expectations! The staff was wonderful, friendly and professional from beginning to end. The lifeguards were wonderful and somehow maintained their kool with 10 boys splish splashing in the pool, which can't be easy! Our 7 pizza's arrived to our party room piping hot and the cake was delicious. We look forward to throwing our next party here soon! read more

Front desk people are insanely rude. That alone should have kept me from signing a 12 month membership. On top of that, Riverwinds rents/leashes the pool space out to the local high school so there is almost NEVER a time to get a lap lane to yourself. Pretty weak. This is a sophisticated facility along the Delaware riverbank. If I lived in Paulsboro, I would definitely have a membership. Swimming, running track and even climbing. I love it! Surprised it is even here as the community is kind of a mix and match in the overall area. read more

New member to Riverwinds Community Center. Joined so my grandchildren would have a place to swim. We found the sliding board to be closed most of the time. Pool in need of repair. Today the children weren't allowed to use the blue boards to practice swimming as they have the last 10 times we were here!!! The rationale was they are used for swimming laps! Most people who are able to swim laps don't need boards!!! Ridiculous!!! Another example of management micromanaging!!! So children can't use the boards to practice swimming!!! Sounds like they want more money, like paying for swimming lessons so they can use the boards!!! I spent $750.00 for membership...what a waste of money!!! Lifeguards are nice, but very young. read more
