Get into the room and the view is brilliant but it's really old fashioned and looks like it hasn't been done up in 30 years, the bed was very comfortable but i had a sense that the sheets were not fresh, breakfast in the morning was 30 minutes late and cold, they managed to make a few mistakes with the order and some of the food could of been sitting around for a week . The customer service was helpful but not very fast. Overall I think it's somewhere which needs a bit of a spruce up and a more organisation. Would recommend only if you can get a very good deal and a room with a view, apart from that you could try looking at other hotel, The other half of our group had a room on the bottom floor which they could not change. Their shower leaked and flooded the bathroom, they woke up to an infestation of Woodside and spiders in their bed and the breakfast was totally wrong and made them sick. This was like a beautiful summer day following a cold, dark night. The building was built in the 1860s and carries much of its original charm while serving a new purpose. The only caution is that it's up the hill a bit. But this is Torquay; everything is uphill. We would love to come back yet again (we came once a couple years ago, and returned again for this visit).

The absolutely best part of staying here is the breakfast of fresh fruit and what they call a 'Full English' cooked breakfast. Yummy. Neil and Sally are such interesting innkeepers and couldn't have been more welcoming with their offering of tea and cakes. A very well run B&B, totally clean and very comfortable. We highly recommend that anyone visiting Devon stay at Torcroft.

We were in room number 1 that overlooked the parking lot. The room itself is small yet equipped with a double bed, night tables, wardrobe, desk and chair. There's not a lot of room to move around... especially in the bathroom. I should note, there's no lift so if you've got a bit of luggage, consider staying on the first floor (which is only two flights of stairs). I will say, I was surprised by the breakfast which was included with our room. I expected a continental breakfast, which there was (and a quite extensive one at that) but it also included a full hot breakfast too. So while we ordered our Full English we were invited to help ourselves to the buffet. The selection was fresh and with such a wide variety, there was definitely something for everyone. I'm only knocking it down half a star because, even through I did book a compact room, it was way smaller than I had anticipated, however, the room was clean and the dining room, sunroom and pool area absolutely beautiful. I would definitely stay here again... just in a bigger room. :) 4.5 stars.

Also us nonsmoking customers have to hold our breath as we quickly try to dash through all that stink. Apparently smokers don't know how to read the NO SMOKING signs and the employees do absolutely nothing to enforce what is a law in the area. SHAME ON PREMIER INN MANAGEMENT!!!!! Probably the worst meal I've ever eaten in my life was in the restaurant ... SWEET POTATO FETA LASAGNA. More than 3/4 of the dish was solid cheese; the spinach was mixed in with all that cheese, the topping was all cheese ... cheese, cheese, cheese. I was met at the door by the very friendly owner. She made me feel very welcome. She arranged to have my bill finalised and a receipt left on my bed and a taxi ordered in the morning to take me to the station early in the morning. Great service. The room was basic but clean and comfortable.great value for the £35 I paid for a good night sleep . Sadly I did not get to try the breakfast as I had to leave at 6:45 and breakfast did not start till 8:30. A little late for a business user. Would I stay again ? Most defiantly I will .

Cleanliness is of a good standard. Location is not so good if you have mobility problems as long walk into torquay town but we love it. We have had many happy times here.
