I met with three companies and they honestly were all very nice but Dan from The Gutter Company was…read morethe most informative. Their main installer was such a gentleman and the workers were beyond professional and courteous. They came up against an unforeseen issue but handled it right away and were very prompt in returning with a custom piece that had been needed to resolve the issue. (I have 100 year old Dutch colonial house that is not level so it can be challenging to make sure the water drains properly.) I installed the gutters prior to the rainy season starting. Now that the rain has started I am so happy I made the decision to install gutters. Though my house has been around for 100 years with no gutters I've had continuous water intrusion under the house creating mold issues and I've had to treat for Mold two different times. I really believe that this is going to greatly mitigate the moisture situation as I've already noticed a difference since having gutters. Wish I had done it sooner.

Because, according to his secretary's notes, the description of my job request didn't warrant him driving 7.5 miles to my home to give me an estimate, he thought he would make it clear to me that his company had a $500 minimum. In his arrogance, he thought he was doing us "both" a favor. In other words, I wasn't worth the 7.5 mile trip, until he explained that my job request "might" be to small. I had two other appraisals from reputable companies that quoted me at $1400 and $1200 for the job I needed. When I suggested that maybe the job was greater than he had assumed, he stated that it wasn't an assumption, merely a question. Daniel, your assumption came when you suggested your secretary understood the scope of the project, without having "viewed" the project. This is a learning experience for you Daniel. Your customer deserves the respect of a visit, because there are DOZENS of other companies willing to visit and possibly sell their customers what they need. Whether you question the job or not, visit your customer. They DESERVE that respect for choosing you and your company from among DOZENS of OTHER companies.
