I hired Pillars of Earth to do snow removal at my new house before I moved in, three times over…read moreabout a month. (I didn't move in right away because I was having renovations done.) They promised to take photos of their work, so I wouldn't even have to travel to the house to make sure it was good. The first time, I had forgotten to leave outdoor lights on, so they were unable to clear the stairs down to the basement door in the dark, but they came back and did that the next day. The photos were a little delayed, but when they arrived, showed that Pillars of Earth had done a wonderful job clearing the snow in all the areas I asked (sidewalk, pathways up to the door, the garage, around the side of the house). There was a little bit of ice in a couple places but enough clear path to walk on. This was confirmed when I went to the house a little later on. The second time, they did a great job again, absolutely no complaints, and they sent photos again. The third time, I gave them very little warning, as I wanted the paths to be clear in time for moving day. I didn't hear back until after they had already done the work, the day after I requested it. They had taken photos as usual, and they didn't even charge me, as a housewarming gift! So in short: Pillars of Earth does a great job of removing snow, receives payment by etransfer, works on pretty short notice (generally a couple days), and is happy to do special things like taking photos of their work. The person I booked with, Tony, communicates by email and text (but not phone, due to lack of hearing, which is fine by me), and is very pleasant and nice! I definitely recommend Pillars of Earth for snow removal, and I'll be looking into their winter plan where they come whenever needed for a monthly fee.

It's all around been great with only one hiccup. We spend a fair amount of time out of town and have a large driveway so we expect it cleaned for while we are home and away. For safety, ease of access and to make sure it looks like someone is home. The work is top notch and only once have we had an issue. The morning cleaning of snow was scheduled to start no earlier than 7 am and one morning they were doing it at 6:30. We let them know not to and ever since things have been great. Here's a breakdown of my experience: Customer Service: Dave was very helpful in answering my questions via DM. He was quick to respond and provided clear and helpful information. This part of the experience deserves the 3 stars. Ordering Process: Initially, I ordered a yard of rocks only. After some discussion, I decided to add dirt to my order. I messaged Dave to include the dirt in the delivery, and he responded with a thumbs up. I thought everything was set for a single delivery on Sunday between 10-2. Delivery Issues: On Sunday at 11 AM, I was asked if the delivery could be moved to the next day, to which I agreed. However, when the delivery arrived, the rocks were incorrect, and there was no dirt. I messaged Dave immediately, and he quickly arranged for the correct rocks to be delivered, which arrived around 1:15 in the afternoon. Unexpected Charges: When the delivery driver returned, I was shocked to find out I was expected to pay a second delivery fee of $90. The dirt cost $30, and the delivery fee was another $90, on top of the $90 delivery fee I had already paid for the rocks. At no point during our discussions did Dave indicate that there would be two separate deliveries and two fees. Communication Breakdown: When I asked Dave about this, he insisted that it was clear from our conversation. I asked him to show me where it was clear, and he replied by saying I was confused and that he had been clear. I expressed that this felt sneaky and like bad business practice. Following this exchange, I found myself blocked on messenger. Final Thoughts: Be aware and get all the costs upfront if you decide to use Big Binz Landscaping. This entire conversation about the additional fee happened after the dirt was already dumped in my yard, which was not cool. Dave, not cool.

Some guys came by after work to start the installation and they were super friendly and knowledgeable and made sure to be careful around my plants. I don't have to pay someone to water my lawn and garden anymore. Next home I have I'll definitely be calling them again!

Hopefully they act in a more professional and safe manner when they are at a work site and not as reckless as they are on the roads. If your employees are that stressed out and reckless on the roads, send them home to get some sleep.
