I had to visit this office twice within three weeks. The first time that I went they had no clue about how to register/title a boat purchased out of state. I had the title ... I had the bill of sale ... but that was not good enough. Come on ... it was a tiny 12' boat that cost me a couple of hundred dollars. Like I am going to commit grand theft for such a thing. But ... they said that if I completed paperwork that they needed ... same bill of sale but on their paperwork ... I could come back. The staff was very nice and tried to explain the process to me. So I left ... tracked down the original owners ... they signed the documents and returned them to me. Back I go. This time the same staff was a bit surly ... no smiles ... nothing. They wanted to deny me again ... until I produced the documents and repeated what they had told me last time. So without so much as a word they completed the registration/title. Curtly handed me my documents and said that I was done. Only later did I find that they had failed to give me a receipt. I was just happy to be done. GOOD (positive) THING about this facility ... no waiting! Other contracted MVD locations that I have been to in New Mexico are much more friendly and efficient. read more
