Burger!

So happy the Roadside is open again. First ate here in August 2002, and have enjoyed it for years. Good food for a good cause. Excellent burgers.

A small blueberry pancake and a side of bacon

Fresh bread, homespun cheddar cheese, various bags of salad greens, homemade bagels, nice breakfast and coffee in a beautiful space -- and great menu prices! So happy they have reopened!

Great service and a great mission! (See www.gouldfarm.org for deets). Today we were greeted by a helpful waitress who quickly took and filled our drink orders. For lunch I ordered the Roadside burger w greens and got the juiciest burger I've had in a while (guessing that's due to Farm raised, local beef)! Burger was served at a brioche bun made at the Farm's Harvest Barn--go local!! Bun and burger were excellent. Highly recommend the Roadside Cafe!

Had a very nice lunch today on our way to a Heritage Walk at Gould Farm. I had the Cubano sandwich. My partner had the quiche special. Both were good. Mine (on sourdough bread) was a bit greasier than necessary. Nice spicy mustard. Her quiche was quite fluffy. Service was fine and friendly. Nice, casual atmosphere. Liked the diverse lunchtime menu. Would definitely eat here again if we were in the area. Good value.

Great neighborhood place to eat. Great food. Try the pancakes, salads, and hamburgers. Take home baked goods and great dairy foods

Obviously issues with being able to choose, not cool, first food world problems. We started with the potato puck appetizer, good , it's fried potatoes and cheese , I mean, no brainer. A smidge pricey for the two disc, I know, but for 11$, it's not worth it ($3 each would, just saying) The main course, ah, so good, thank you staff at gb! My cheeseburger was delicious, pink, perfect. The char flavor, chef kiss! The fries, also top shelf. Totally on price. chicken and waffles, well this was my issue, this combo went so well together, I felt my burger was being overshadowed, which wouldn't have been justified. Great malt in that waffle. Crab po boy and chicken sandwich were also notable, but I didn't personally try them. I could see coming here strictly for breakfast or going half and half, being right Either way. Parking is street, good luck with that weather prevailing, but this part of main street is fun , so make a day/night/brunch/linner eats kinda of moment.

Listen, 5 stars for this trip is going to sound so bad, but just wait... Ill get there…read more I find this place on Yelp, Hubby and I were in town on vacation for a weekend to get away before I was to have a pretty big operation - so we just upped & ran away one weekend. It coincidentally happened to be prime leaf peeping weekend (which isnt why we went away) but it was Sunday am, we wanted to eat somewhere that wasnt Dunks, so I found this place on Yelp and it looked super cute, so we drove 30*ish minutes to get here. We arrive & Im thinking Oh No, this isnt going to be great, we get in line and are 3rd in line. Well 15 mins has passed and no one has even acknowledged the people in front of us or anyone... Now to set the scene for anyone who hasnt been here, its like walking into a time warp home. Its not like a restaurant, this is literally a home. There is stuff EVERYWHERE, its like a yard sale, dust, books, no 2 tables, place settings, mugs, plates or anything is the same on all the tables, and the woman who was working god bless her had to be easily 75... She was running the food, cleaning & clearing the tables and this place was packed. We ended up talking to the family in front of us in line (who were regulars and in their 90s) and they said they come every weekend, so the woman who works there pulls them out of line and seats them ahead of the people in front of them (they were ok with that) but they had told us how you can buy anything in the place, if you liked your table setting you can buy it. There was so much old rustic decor, the place is friggin adorable, but you can buy it all! I just continued to walk around the place & just investigate all the things. Well 45 mins later we were finally seated and magically a few more staff people arrived to help her out, the whole experience from waiting to be seated, to ordering to actually getting the food and check was easily 2+ hours. The food I expected to then be just meh, but it wasnt IT WAS GOOD, Craig the owner chef was literally in the kitchen ALONE... and lives up stairs too, but you could see him hustling around and just handling all of it. Salad at breakfast at first to me seemed so off, but OMG was it good. All the food was just fresh and really good! This was one of those super memorable experiences, the hubby wouldnt let me buy anything and that was ok, but if we are ever back in the area we are definitely stopping in again! Dont mind the wait (which Im told isnt normally that long - I think it was all the leaf peeping tourists)

On top of that, I asked twice for my plain black iced coffee, and it didn't show up until after I finished eating, which kind of defeated the purpose of ordering it. It genuinely felt like the staff was more focused on chatting with each other than taking care of customers. The vibe from the employees was also not great. When I mentioned I was vegetarian, I got a reaction that felt really judgmental and dismissive, which made me uncomfortable. When I asked for the Wi-Fi, I got hit with a snarky, "Do you not see the sign?" while they pointed at something completely hidden. The whole thing came off as really passive-aggressive. Overall, the service felt rude and unwelcoming, the food was cold, and the drink situation was just annoying. I left feeling like I had spent money just to be treated poorly. I've actually given this place a few chances, because I do like the aesthetics, but the food and service are just not good. The food is bland, and I don't feel like paying $20 for something that tastes like cardboard. ALSO I ordered a kale salad and the kale wasn't even massaged. It was just straight up kale dressing and a few pumpkin seeds. This was $17 by the way.

Most recently my husband and I split a turkey club crepe, French onion crepe and seasonal strawberry rhubarb crepe. All brilliant. 2 years ago when we came through we had the French toast breakfast crepe (which included eggs and bacon inside it) which I still think about because it was delicious, but so confusing that those flavors were so good together. The little salad given with the lunch crepes is appreciated too. This spot is usually pretty busy. You order at the counter, take a number and sit. They have a fridge of tap water carafes you can grab for your table and they will bring the kitchen items out to you. Sometimes there's an in shop singer. It's a nice space with flowers, art and local interest items as decor. The only uncomfortable moment is it bottlenecks a lot by the order counter and can be crowded there.
