My husband loves the shirts here. While I don't love the women's inventory, whenever my husband needs clothes or I need a gift for him, I can count on Roark for something that I know he'll like and I approve of. It's a blend of like upscale outdoorsman. Prices are inline with other brands selling quality clothing, and they are durable. I recently popped into this Berkeley location, and the shop layout for the men's clothing is great. I was in and out in like 5 minutes, which I made the joke that was the quickest shopping trip of all time. First visit and hubby scored a pair of traveling pants. He's on the slim side so finding active pants that don't balloon on him is rare. Wow! Breathable material, enough pockets to hold your wallet, keys, phone, and the zipper detailing on the side pockets is a bonus! Amazed at quality, the fit/cut, and overall style. Enough stretch for active movement - whether you're biking, climbing, or even eating! Cindy (or Sydney?) was super helpful and a joy to work with. The girl working the front desk needs a little more training on customer service. no greeting upon entering, and actually looking at me suspiciously. my girlfriend used the clearly market restroom. upon exiting, the rude service girl growls "that is only for employees" well then signage it as such. Bought their "Axeman" jacket just over a month ago and the sleeve started coming apart just reaching up over my head to get something down off the roof rack. Nevermind swinging an axe. I bought a Bison jacket wore it three times last one was camping with a fire. Needed to clean it. I followed directions on washing and the jacket ripped at the arm pit. I had the jacket for two months I have reached out to Roark and every time I called nothing., then sent email with pictures and I received mailer demon each email sent. I've been here multiple times and have always been impressed by the level of customer service offered by Liam. He's a super friendly guy who doesn't hesitate to answer any of your questions about the brand and selection in store. The past several times I've visited Roark, it's usually just Liam tending to the shop. Once you walk in, he immediately makes you feel welcomed and is very eager to help you out. The clothes are bit on the more expensive end but you're paying for the quality and aesthetic, which I think makes the selection reasonably priced. This review is long overdue! I've been a loyal customer for the past two years and always purchase from the Berkeley store whether in-person or over the phone. I've found the shirts to be the perfect length. Shirt length from other retail stores often shrink after a single wash therefore changes the length for all future wears. A lot of their clothes are pre-shrunk. Roark's clothing continues to be consistent in quality, size and length. I've purchased jackets, button up shirts, shirts, swim shorts, and 5" exercise shorts. The customer service is outstanding. The manager surely is doing something right in hiring people that are professional, knowledgeable, and caring. I believe the Berkeley location is the flagship store in the Bay Area, why they have the best selection. Items are always organized and neatly folded. Be on the look out ya'll for the special events this location often hosts. They are fun. read more

Roark is a great brand - I love the quality the look everything about it . The Berkeley location is very impressive ! I bought a hat at this store four years ago maybe five years ago-my favorite summer hat . It got destroyed accidently in the dryer. I looked everywhere on the Roark site, Amazon, Paragon, Poshmak, even Ebay but I couldnt find it anywhere. I decided to call the Berkeley store as my last resort . I spoke to a gentleman named Liam. I described the hat etc .. He asked me for my cell number and he pulled up the trancasction and identified the hat within minutes! He then searched everywhere and found a few lying around in the warehouse.Then with the help of his operations mangager they ordered me the hat! Two weeks later I had my hat back. A hoodie that I bought from there started getting holes near the pocket area, but after contacting customer support, I had a brand new replacement hoodie by the end of the week.
