This is as good as it gets when it comes to childcare in my opinion. Why? It's a childcare center…read morewith an at-home vibe. Our daughter has been at Holy Nativity since she was 12 weeks old & she is now 19 months. We just transferred to a new daycare closer to our new house, so I felt compelled to share my experience at Holy Nativity because we were very reluctant to leave! Brittany is the Director & is on point. She answers questions, she is professional, kind, and you'll often find her hands-on in each of the classrooms. The rapport she has with all of her teachers is evident in their tenure. Most of the teachers have been there 10+ years. In childcare, that is unheard of. I truly believe it's a testament to Brittany's leadership & the environment created at Holy Nativity. If you are looking for a great center for your kids, here are some reasons to put this daycare on your list of places to tour: -Reasonably Priced: We were paying $305/week for Infant care (5 days a week) at Holy Nativity. Closer to our new home, the prices are more like $350+/week. It's a great value. -Teachers are experienced typically carrying Bachelor's Degrees in Education/Elementary Ed/etc. -Teachers have been there a long time & LOVE their jobs. There's nothing worse than leaving you kids with someone who doesn't care. These women love your kids like their own & you feel how genuine that is. It was one of the most important things to me when choosing a center. -Extra-Curriculars: They go above and beyond to create fun experiences for the kids. In the summer, they have an agreement with the nearby YMCA for splash-pad access in the pre-school room, they rent bounce-houses for the kids, have special musical guests, chefs, etc. WOW! -Every holiday they celebrate & Christmas involves a Christmas show with Infant Room-Preschool represented. -It's a small center: 1 infant room, 1 toddler room, 1 pre-school room. You won't fee like a number here. -Professionalism: Brittany in the office is responsive, addresses concerns, and keeps the vibe at Holy Nativity so positive. I can't recommend this school enough. My daughter Birdie has started at a new daycare but she still says 'Amy' (her Toddler teacher's name) every day on the way there. I know she misses it. Do yourself a favor and put this one on your list to check out!

It was a really bad first daycare experience. They were not child-focused, family-compassionate,…read morecommunity-oriented or organized. They treated our family with very little regard. For a center that advertises working with each child based on their unique needs and welcoming communication with parents... They fell way short. Red flags started during the paperwork process: contracts stated different things than what they told us. This included a much higher daycare price and a large yearly fee they never told us about. No explanation was given for major inconsistencies. Our toddler had a hard time transitioning into this daycare, struggled more than other kids. Her demeanor changed drastically within days, and it concerned us. On day two, they shared that their strategies did not work on her. They had no other plans to support her. They asked us to pick her up hours early daily due to her crying. We agreed to do so. We never got access to teachers so we cannot speak about the teachers. Only access to the daycare head. We had to repeatedly, kindly ask for school info they sent other parents and didn't send us. We tried to ease our toddler's transition from home, wanted to help her understand what was happening and who her teachers are but couldn't because we didn't have basic info, not even teacher names. They eventually sent us some (not all) of the info, but seemed inconvenienced. We worked with what we had. They did not seem interested in learning much about our kiddo or taking a unique child-centered approach. They did a cry it out method, leaving her to stand alone at the door for hours by herself. Our child became somber and looked defeated. It broke our hearts. Getting dressed in the morning resulted in panic and crying. She became terrified of leaving the house, even to play. This was not normal. On Friday morning, I informed the school we would be a little late because she was having another tough morning. They did not care and would not take her after the 9:00am exact cut off. I found this to be unreasonable when they knew she was struggling and asked us to accommodate them picking up hours early daily. But they wouldn't accommodate even being minutes late. Corporate rules came before child needs. I messaged them that I was losing trust in their willingness to work with us to help my struggling child. The lead of the center called and claimed I called her and her staff "not human". The texts show that never happened. It was about having a human-centered, child-centered approach to my child, but she made it about herself. The conversation was not child-focused at all. She spoke down to us: accused me of expecting her to tend to me all day every day. Accused our family of expecting special treatment. Said she didn't have time for basic admin tasks even though that's her job. Gaslighted me: said she sent teacher names in the welcome packet. Acted like I was overly demanding for wanting info. We checked our emails, we never got a welcome packet. We were just a family new to daycare with a struggling child, wanting to know who her teachers were and other basic info, wanting to support our kiddo. It wasn't an unreasonable ask. It was info they already sent other parents but resisted sending us. She painted us as a demanding, difficult family instead. Our child did nothing wrong but the daycare lead suggested that we withdraw her. We took her up on this offer.  Our parent friends were shocked hearing our experience, never saw this in their daycares. A child social worker expert & friend said my child's reaction was concerning and should have been taken more seriously by the daycare. Don't know if they are understaffed or mismanaged. Don't know if she treats other families this way or if she just had something against us. She didn't even know us. We left after the first week. Though they did not care how this affected our child, we do. She has trauma-like symptoms now. We are undoing the harm with intention and care, she is slowly thriving again. We wish we paid attention to the red flags in the beginning. Stay away from here if you want a child-centered, family-friendly, compassionate, culturally-competent, noncorporate experience.

We…read morehave looked at more expensive options and less expensive options and are convinced that Primrose is the right place for our boys. I simply could not disagree more with the other reviewer. The education and development of my boys have been very impressive. The 4yr old was potty trained in just over 2 years. He can read, write and even speak limited Spanish at just over 4yrs. With the limited amount of time my wife and I have with him I firmly believe Primrose is to thank. This is despite some teacher turnover that occurred after a large competitor moved in down the street and actively attempted to recruit away their staff last year. Why did my sons development continue with little relative impact? The curriculum. It simply works. At this age it's the strong controls over what, when and how our children are taught that allows Primrose to be so successful at educating our children. That's not to takeaway from the excellent staff whom we do appreciate. In addition to the education there is also the social development. Our children are not only academically intelligent - they are also polite, caring, social and resilient. Their emotional development appears to be well beyond that of others their age. As I said earlier - with the limited amount of time we get to spend with our boys - I trust Primrose to help develop them into successful students and socially responsible children - and they haven't let me down.

The curriculum is the perfect mix of fundamentals, life skills and free play and it truly brings a warm feeling in my heart to see how much our child enjoys their time here. Leadership is open to parental feedback and questions and they actually act on feedback to ensure that the whole experience is seamless. The…read moreteachers and administrators are wonderful and there is no one I would trust more with caring for my child. Long review: My wife and I enrolled our child in the toddler program at the Gardner School ("TGS") after relocating to Minneapolis from Manhattan and having a lackluster experience with a lower cost corporate/chain daycare provider in Minneapolis. (In NYC, our child attended a large, national chain that provided OK care for an insanely high price.) The difference between TGS and the MSP chain daycare is night and day. At the old daycare, classrooms had a 7:1 student/teacher ratio, though they often would combine three different classrooms for morning activities. (While they technically were "in ratio," having 21 toddlers supervised by three adults was chaotic.) Children received almost no individualized attention and the facilities were messy and disorganized by the end of the day. Communication between the teachers/administrators and families was practically non-existent and we often had no idea who would be watching our child at any given time. Some of the teachers seemed to be overwhelmed or otherwise incapable of caring for the children. No efforts were made to formally introduce our child to classmates or my wife and I to the other parents. At the Gardner School, the ratios are much lower (5:1) and children receive an incredible amount of individual attention. The facilities are impressive and immaculate. Most important, the teachers are extremely professional and personally invested in the students. We get detailed updates on how our child is doing every day, including developmental milestones. The food is actually healthy (and not just carbs and sugar like the old daycare). The curriculum is important and not simply an afterthought. The teachers and administrators know all of the parents by name and are helpful, professional, organized, and friendly. We are greeted by name and with a smile when we come and go every day. Any changes or upcoming events are communicated clearly and in advance. Though the tuition is meaningfully higher than the other daycare, we have found that it is well worth the money. TGS has exceeded all of our expectations and we couldn't be happier with the care and service they provide.
