She is very well educated with her knowledge of how medications work in your body and with your brain. She also helped me understand why my brain misfires like it does which is why I struggle with my mental health. She listens to me and talks out next steps with me so I understand and know what to expect. She's straight forward and matter of fact. So if you're looking for someone to coddle you, she's not the one. She takes your mental health seriously. Her office manager Cat is also matter of fact and to the point. She's not one for small talk or pleasantries but she knows what she's doing and has a great response time to emails! This was one of the first things Dawn did, and then was able to lower my brother's medication, which is helping with tremors and weight gain, while keeping my brother's bipolar symptoms in check. She definitely knows her business and listens to all of our concerns. She is definitely giving my brother the optimal solution for his mental issues and providing full services including therapy during our sessions. Usually, psychiatrist just ask about whether the medications are working and then rush you out of the office. Not Dawn, she really cares about my brother's overall mental health and gives him strategies to manage daily life in addition to the medications.
