I love…read morehow you can show up 45 minutes before your scheduled flight departure time - certainly something you can't do at Pearson. Staff are friendly, the airport is quiet and peaceful, and there is never a line for security. Only complaints are that the cleanliness could be better, especially in the washrooms. Also, more direct flight options would be great to have. It would be great if we could avoid connecting through YYZ as much as possible (although I find that YYZ has gotten better in recent weeks compared to a few years ago). Someday... The PA system is also hard to understand and hear as the speakers are of rather low quality. That can lead to some misunderstandings or missed important announcements. Luggage can also take a long time to come out too. Other than that, YXU is a GREAT airport and is super convenient - but again, only when it works.

Easy security. Leave your shoes on…read more Pull your lap top and liquids out. Show your boarding pass, not your ID. Done. Terminal. Small and easy to navigate. Six gates, all with one universal waiting area. Smaller airplanes. Food. A food court before you go through security with a Tim hortons. A small cafe inside the terminal once you go through. Free wifi. Very few plugs though.

There's a tiny bar that's attached to a store but, it's really sad and depressing. Might want to think about getting a coffee shop (maybe a Starbucks) after security so people can at least take their coffee on the plane or those waiting on a layover can grab a bite and a coffee without the hassle of going through security again. It's a small airport, which is nice to get around in. Nothing is a far walk. The carts are horrible. Super rusty and there's barely any of them. There is one row of them and it's very hard to find, tucked away in a corner and not convenient at all. The seating area needs work. Very old, dumpy and dingy looking seats with no cup holders or power sources. Nowhere to sit with a laptop. Not a single restaurant, and Tim Horton's (the only place to grab a quick bite) closes at 5pm! Crazy. If you have any kind of layover, avoid this airport at all costs.
