Robert and his son do all our mechanical work they are quick and always do great work

The customer service here was phenomenal. They treated me with such kindness and honesty. I didn't have to wait long and the fixed my issue very quickly. We took a family road trip to SPI on Monday and got stuck at a rest area along the way about 90 miles out. I worried that the fuel pump had failed. We had to get towed in Monday evening to make our hotel reservation. So first thing Tuesday morning I had to find a shop that could look at my car and hopefully get her fixed ASAP. I looked up the only shop on SPI because they could tow me themselves and said they'd be able to look at it same day. I had also called Robert, but needed to go through another towing company. For this reason I was opting for the shop in town because Robert is a bit further across the bridge in Port Isabel. By the grace of God things with the other shop didn't work out due to a greedy hobbit like tow truck driver that couldn't wait a few extra minutes for my wife to bring me the keys so that he could tow my car to their shop because he had another call waiting. Mind you they had initially quoted me a later time and the driver called early to get the car sooner, I agreed, but had to scramble and help my wife with the kids first. I tried appealing to some sort of kindness or reasonableness, but the putz said we were at the hotel insinuating that for that reason we were fine there and again not knowing our plans or how long we'd be there for. This situation allowed me to see the difference between a shop that feels they have the monopoly and could care less about customers and a provider like Robert who's reasonable and who would get me up and running rapidly at a fair cost. I was able to get my car to Robert through Master towing (left a review as well) and Robert had the parts and car up and running and ready the next morning. Therefore, we were able to make the best of the rest of our time in SPI made it home safely and the car is running great. Although a frustrating situation, I'm happy for how things worked out and would recommend any visitors that finds themselves in a similar situation to take the extra couple miles over the bridge for peace of mind. So while on vacation in south padre in July, wife's cars AC starts blowing warm? I'm thinking maybe needs freon? Wife looks on google and and finds Robert's and they can get us in asap, im already planning on getting treated like a tourist but no...we get to the shop ,they diagnose and test my AC and find nothing wrong? Then tell me no charge ??? What??? Of course by this time my AC is freakin blowing cold like normal.. The moral of my story is: this business is legit! The owner and his son are both honest and knowledgeable and I would give them 10 stars if it was available, so if your ever around Padre or (actually it's Port Isabel)and need a mechanic that is trustworthy, you've found it here !! Awesome! Great service. Honest. I needed brakes. He told me the front pads only. The rear brakes are fine!

We were 10 hours from home and the check engine light came on. We pulled in and were greeted politely and they diagnosed our issue quickly.

Family owned and operated since day one...Robert is awesome great guy and his staff are all great and friendly. I'm just happy that the shop was open on July 4th... my breaks went out and I'm just grateful I didn't have to drive out of town to find a place opened on this day. read more

Robert is the most honest man in Port Isabel. I recently had car electrical problems and brought my car to him, keeping my fingers crossed. He could have charged me an arm and a leg, and i would have gladly paid. He fixed the car, and charged me nothing, saying he just flipped some switches and reset the relay. read more

My A/C Compressor clutch died on my Honda Odyssey on the way to South Padre. Robert and Xavier diagnosed the problem and installed a new compressor in less than a day. My ride back to Austin was nice and cool. They did great work. Xavier even gave me a ride back to my condo while my van was in the shop. Fair and honest. read more
