DONT use this painter....sloppy, paint spatters on furniture, outlets, poor spackle job, drips on one wall...very very disappointed and poor follow up. We hired Roberts Painting to stain the exterior of our home and paint the exterior trim. I cannot begin to tell you the runaround we got from the owner, William Roberts. He gave us a great quote on the work to be done which was to power wash the exterior, mask off windows, scrape where necessary, prime exterior, spray stain and follow behind with a roller for the 2nd coat. He had a little mantra:. "Trust the process". I wonder if the great quote was because he predetermined me as yet another victim he would scam and steal the money without doing the work! He required a nonrefundable 50% deposit. Made sense. Let's begin, shall we? Right from the onset, he made excuses why he would begin the work at a later date. Then the supplier didn't have the product. Mind you, it's been at least 3 months since he was given the 50% deposit. He finally sent over 2 workers to power wash. One was his son that at the time, was not an employee of his and another guy that didn't want to work. They did a light spray but so much loose stain remained. It hadn't been stained for 20 years and its cedar shake. I could flick the stain off with my finger. "Trust the process". I think it took weeks for him to send over 2 guys to begin. No scraping, no masking off windows, no shields to prevent over spray on our brand new black roof. Windows now have tons of over spray, the roof is a mess, and the sprayer broke. Can't get parts for a few days. These guys didn't have a clue. I had been in constant contact with William Roberts only to get excuse after excuse. It's go-time again! No primer. Hey, go figure! "But this is the TOP stain they have. It's BETTER than primer under stain and at no extra charge to me!". What a guy! Wait! Aren't they gonna scrape? What about the soffits? What about my gutters and downspouts? Did they know they were PAINTING MY LANDSCAPING??!! Did they think it was ok to slap the paint off their brushes on my landscaping rocks??!! Aww. Nice. They sprayed a little piece of the siding. It looked like ****. "Trust the process it's just the first coat". Mm hmmm. Constant contact continues with Mr William Roberts of Roberts Painting LLC in Davison Michigan. Finally, HE graced us with HIS presence at this job site and actually got enough done in one day to give me hope that it would be corrected and completed.. NOT!!! Just enough progress that he felt comfortable to ask for the remainder of the payment. And like a fish on a line, I bit and gave it to him and haven't seen him since. The work he DID do, was so sloppy, inferior and not even CLOSE.to industry standards. I can't warn you sternly enough to NOT HIRE THIS MAN OR HIS COMPANY!!! I took him to small claims court, he didn't show. He OBVIOUSLY knew the drill. I won of course. But in the long run, I lost because I didn't have the resources to chase him down, at MY EXPENSE, to get my money back when I won the case. That's a legal proceeding that needs to change! I won the case but he doesn't need to repay what he stole? There is much more I could say. Like it took him weeks to pick up their ladders and a paint roller. UGH! Do your research before you hire someone. Check yelp, Facebook, BBB before you sign on the dotted line. I didn't. It cost me THOUSANDS. This whole thing began at the end of June 2021-January 2022, when I gave up. So please do not risk hiring William Roberts or Roberts Painting LLC. read more
