    Worst Khinkali EVER

#abkhaziaisgeorgia Worst khinkali ever! Feozen and no taste at all Service better than food but still not great Deserves zero stars if I had the option

    Beef stroganoff

The whole experience was unpleasant. I came in around 230pm on a Saturday. The restaurant only had two tables. I ordered the beef stroganoff which comes with a soup and choice of 2 sides. I opted for the borcht soup as that's what I see what other reviewers are getting. The side of soup just tasted like boiled beets water with some cabbage and 1 potatoe. I assume there would be meat as well..but mine didn't have any. No flavor. For my sides, of the 3 available choices of rice, potatoes and vegetables. I requested veggies and potatoes and was told they didn't have any and they can do mashed potatoes instead. I said that was fine. 5 mins later the waitress said they don't have any mashed potatoes and if I was ok with double veggies. I wasn't thrilled and I didn't have much other options. I thought that was weird for them to not have 2 of 3 sides available. Not like I came late and they run out... The whole time while waiting I hear some coughing coming from the kitchen and I was a bit worried since no one wore mask and I heard they used the microwave pretty frequently. They had a few people come in to pick up to go orders. That shows me that the food is not fresh because it's just reheated food. After a bit my came out and it looks like hospital cafeteria food. The veggies are boiled with no seasoning. Bland. The beef stroganoff was decent. I sat by the front of the entrance. While eating I was put off by people smoking in front outside. A lot of the staff hangout in front and smoke. Every time the door open I get a whiff of cigarette smoke while eating and I do not like the smell. Halfway eating my meal I notice two dishes came out which looks a lot like the potatoes that I originally wanted. I asked for the check and inquired about the potatoes I saw and she said it was rice not potatoes. I know what I saw. Then another guy tried to show me the menu and i said yes, that's what I wanted. He said, but you ordered vegetables. I said, yeah cause I was told that's all yall had! (I didn't want rice). He said sorry and the girl acknowledged her mistake. At this point the whole experience was not great and paid $22 for a meal I did not enjoy. I quickly got out of there...

My favorite Russian restaurant. The parking is easy considering the location. The food is not very expensive compared to other Russian restaurants. The staff are super friendly. The atmosphere is formal as the decorations are super cute. I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. I will always come back. The price went up since the last time I came (10 months ago)

My wife and I love visiting this small but superb place on a regular basis to enjoy mouthwatering Russian food. We usually get a variety of things including Grilled Combo and Blinchiki. Really: Blinchiki is a must. I can never get enough of them. At the end of our little ceremony, we always enjoy Russian tea with preserved cherries. What you see on the picture are pelmeni (in the red plate) and blinchiki. The service is great; dishes are served hot from the heart. :) The owner is super friendly and always does his very best to make the dinner memorable with small but heart-warming talk.

    Great start!

    Do they serve black caviar?

https://robertsrussiancuisine.com/menu/ ... I only ate there once. Their menu is published online. I only see red caviar on their menu. I do not eat caviar. You would probably do best to call them and find out if they serve it.

Their arayes are a must -- it's basically like a lahmajun with two pieces pressed together, and it's insanely good. I usually go all in and order the tabbouleh, babaganoush, a pound of lula kebab, and shish kebab. Honestly, if you're with 2+ people (or even just really hungry), ordering by the pound with sides is way better value than getting individual plates. You get more variety and it just feels like the right way to eat here. Every now and then I'll switch it up and get the liver plate -- it comes with tons of greens and onions, and when you wrap everything in their fresh pita, it's incredible. Not an everyday order, but when you're in the mood for it, it hits. If you dine in, the indoor decor is super nice and really gives that authentic Mediterranean vibe. They also play a lot of 90s music, which somehow fits perfectly and adds to the whole experience. I've dined in plenty of times and the service is always solid -- staff is friendly and attentive. Just a heads up, food can take a little longer sometimes, but that's because they're always busy and everything is made fresh, so it's worth the wait. I've also done takeout here more times than I can count -- probably over 100 orders at this point -- which says everything. This is easily one of my go-to spots and I keep coming back for a reason.

I really like the carnival vibe on the exterior of the building and you will be surprised that the interior of the restaurant is nicer than you would expect. The location is a little out of the way and the parking lot always seems too full, but this is a great place to check out if you've never been here, highly recommend the chicken wrap sandwich, make sure you get it toasted!

We were immediately greeted by the owner who excels at friendly banter and salesmanship (not in a pushy way - he clearly loves what he does and wants people to enjoy good food, so he happily gave some recommendations). The chicken was incredibly moist and flavorful and I loved the added bonus of the onions that we could pull together into a wrap. I can't complain about the price either because between the 2 of us, we were satisfyingly full with just one order. Excellent spot for a casual lunch or takeout. TLDR: Hear me out, if you have any doubt about chicken being less superior to beef or other meat. TRY the chicken thigh here. It makes justice for chickens (I still need to try their beef or lamb tho) I was running errands in Glendale today and I was starving and looking for lunch spots around. Turns out Mini Kabob was 3 mins walk away, it was a no brainer, my feet just took me there. Didn't expect to go there, so didn't order ahead but I'm fine with waiting. After last time's magnificent chicken thigh, I was determined to try their other entrees. However, Armen said the chicken thigh is the best seller out of their entrees- well, time for a round 2 I guess? This time I'm eating the entree at the spot and I just gotta say- IT SLAPS!! I'm genuinely not a big fan of chicken, because when you can choose beef why chicken? But this chicken is so juicy, so tender, so heavenly. Yummy!! The garlic sauce is great but the hummus and the fresh lavash, h o l y - f. Last time it was already so good even as a leftover, and eating it right at the spot is just transcending. I also tried their Armenian pear soda, it's delicious and refreshing with the heat right now in summer. I left with my tummy happy and their service is always great, they get busy but still no attitude, no bs, gives the right recommendations. Even this is like a take out restaurant, it still surpasses most of the kabob restaurant. Without doubt I'm coming back again after their break, please be there. I love you mini kabob

When we first walked into the restaurant we thought we were the only patrons, then we found out the host just likes to seat people in the private booths which are separated from the main dining room by straw dividers. I read on the other reviews that they thought the server was not very nice, however my experience was the opposite - she provided helpful input when we asked for advices on the cuisine, and even recommended us to try the khinkali with sour cream which she provided and didn't have to. On to the food - we ordered the eggplant appetizer, it's similar to baba ghanouj but this one is a bit spicier and so yummy with the bread that came with it. We also ordered khinkali which is Georgian's version dumplings (we ordered the boiled version but there's also fried ones available). The skin is on the thicker side and was very chewy, the filling was well spiced with herbs, when you cut into it the juices come flowing out, yum! Our fav dish was the chimeruli which is baked hen drenched in a garlicky cream sauce that was more of a soup to me and i could not stop drinking it down! The hen was roasted so nicely with crispy skin, and along with the sauce just made the whole dish so hearty. Things are on the pricier side but I would still definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who's adventurous in trying different cuisines. It was interesting to note that they had two menus, one for Georgian foods, and the other for Armenian foods. Btw the restaurant charges a "non cash fee" for all non cash payments.

But it is without question the most important Armenian restaurant in the world. Armenians are simultaneously a diaspora people, a people of the book, and an old country people. Therefore, odd as it may seem, it is entirely appropriate that the most important Armenian restaurant in the world should not be located in Armenia at all, but should serve a diaspora community in a way that makes them feel connected to home, both interns of cuisine and in terms of communal warmth. Technically, this is more of a Lebanese restaurant than an Armenian restaurant, but that hardly matters. It's a place of celebration, merriment, laughter, and tears. In short, it is THE gathering place for Armenians in Southern California.
