    Worst Khinkali EVER

#abkhaziaisgeorgia Worst khinkali ever! Feozen and no taste at all Service better than food but still not great Deserves zero stars if I had the option

    Beef stroganoff

The whole experience was unpleasant. I came in around 230pm on a Saturday. The restaurant only had two tables. I ordered the beef stroganoff which comes with a soup and choice of 2 sides. I opted for the borcht soup as that's what I see what other reviewers are getting. The side of soup just tasted like boiled beets water with some cabbage and 1 potatoe. I assume there would be meat as well..but mine didn't have any. No flavor. For my sides, of the 3 available choices of rice, potatoes and vegetables. I requested veggies and potatoes and was told they didn't have any and they can do mashed potatoes instead. I said that was fine. 5 mins later the waitress said they don't have any mashed potatoes and if I was ok with double veggies. I wasn't thrilled and I didn't have much other options. I thought that was weird for them to not have 2 of 3 sides available. Not like I came late and they run out... The whole time while waiting I hear some coughing coming from the kitchen and I was a bit worried since no one wore mask and I heard they used the microwave pretty frequently. They had a few people come in to pick up to go orders. That shows me that the food is not fresh because it's just reheated food. After a bit my came out and it looks like hospital cafeteria food. The veggies are boiled with no seasoning. Bland. The beef stroganoff was decent. I sat by the front of the entrance. While eating I was put off by people smoking in front outside. A lot of the staff hangout in front and smoke. Every time the door open I get a whiff of cigarette smoke while eating and I do not like the smell. Halfway eating my meal I notice two dishes came out which looks a lot like the potatoes that I originally wanted. I asked for the check and inquired about the potatoes I saw and she said it was rice not potatoes. I know what I saw. Then another guy tried to show me the menu and i said yes, that's what I wanted. He said, but you ordered vegetables. I said, yeah cause I was told that's all yall had! (I didn't want rice). He said sorry and the girl acknowledged her mistake. At this point the whole experience was not great and paid $22 for a meal I did not enjoy. I quickly got out of there...

My favorite Russian restaurant. The parking is easy considering the location. The food is not very expensive compared to other Russian restaurants. The staff are super friendly. The atmosphere is formal as the decorations are super cute. I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. I will always come back. The price went up since the last time I came (10 months ago)

My wife and I love visiting this small but superb place on a regular basis to enjoy mouthwatering Russian food. We usually get a variety of things including Grilled Combo and Blinchiki. Really: Blinchiki is a must. I can never get enough of them. At the end of our little ceremony, we always enjoy Russian tea with preserved cherries. What you see on the picture are pelmeni (in the red plate) and blinchiki. The service is great; dishes are served hot from the heart. :) The owner is super friendly and always does his very best to make the dinner memorable with small but heart-warming talk.

    Great start!

The interior was quaint with lots of Russian decor elements. Service was also friendly. The menu is broad with lots of Russian options, and there is even a lunch combo/special option for weekdays from 11AM-3PM that comes with a side, small bowl of soup, and traditional kompot drink. We decided to order a lunch combo (chicken kotleti) as well as the Á la Kalinka dish. The chicken kotleti was basically a ground chicken meatball that was served with a sauce reminiscent of cocktail sauce. The rice was garnished with fresh dill. The Á la Kalinka beef stew was very flavorful with whole peppercorns, tomato, and bay leaves, and was unexpectedly spicy. I loved that it was served piping hot. Although the portion of beef in the stew was generous, some pieces were a bit tough. Both dishes came with pickled cabbage slaw. I really enjoyed the hot borscht soup, it even had a few chunks of beef inside (granted, I love beets). I really enjoyed the kompot drink, but was a little irked when there was a charge for the drink. Admittedly, we were served a full carafe of kompot, and the explanation I received was that the lunch combo only comes with a single small glass, but I would have appreciated being asked if I wanted to pay for a larger volume drink. I was also asked if I wanted bread, which cost $3.50. Again, I have nothing against charges for these things, but it would be better to be more transparent upfront that there will be charges instead of just adding it to the bill. Ultimately, food was a bit pricey but was very tasty and there isn't much Russian food around. I still had a nice overall meal experience.

I felt that the Beef Stroganoff was quite small for an entree and the price. The chicken dish did take a really long time to come out - we had to eat the beef stroganoff and pigmeni as they were getting cold. Was a bit awkward and I wish the staff paced the food out so that we all ate together.

They also always bring out some fresh Russian bread for FREE and they are super giving on the portion. The soup is a 10/10, reminds me of the Hong-Kong style borscht soup. Comforting, healthy, and hearty! The salad is by far the major reason I keep coming back. The dill, fresh tomato slices, salty onion, and cucumber with a little zest is so tasty and again super healthy! The pelmeni and tabaka are classics you can never go wrong with. The pelmeni also reminds me of Chinese pork dumplings and are absolutely delicious with their fresh sour cream dipping sauce. Cheese platter, salmon carpaccio, vinaigrette salad, wague beef, & bronzino. A manager or the owner came to our table with a plate of lamb chops, as a token of appreciation, that was very sweet-thank you! Everything was delicious, however, if you really hungry the portions are small, it won't satisfy you. We had a big lunch earlier, so we felt great with it. Another great touch was, they have a photographer that goes around the whole evening, and takes pictures of the guests. Within few minutes you get an offer of purchasing your pic in a nice frame for $20 (a fare price in my opinion). Even though we didn't need all 3 pics of us, we still purchased them all in support of the photographer's business. In all, yes it's pricey, and adds up quickly, but absolutely worth it! We will be back. I highly recommend this restaurant for a birthday celebration, or even if you just want a special evening with your significant one.
