Rocco's is my families Favorite Pizza place. There staff is Always Friendly, No long waits on delivery. ( Now if your ordering for a party or pizzas that take time expect to wait the time it takes to make your order right). Their Sauce is the best I've been able to find in the midwest. They don't short on the toppings, which we appreciate getting what we ordered. ( Nothing worse then ordering a pizza and you have only 2 toppings literally per slice you know what I'm talking about)! I don't know why I've been sleeping on trying this pizza place. While I gave them a 3, an argument could be made for rounding up to 4. The restaurant didn't appear especially clean. The staff were pleasant, though. Our takeout order was ready when we got there. While their website is antiquated and a bit clunky, the pizza was great! The crust was tasty and both chewy and crispy. Came across some coupons I received in the mail, thought I better use those up before they expire! Ordered a large pizza fry and a large 1/2 sausage, pepperoni, mushroom and 1/2 sausage and pepperoni. Picked it up right on time, checkout was quick and seamless, and order was ready. Gentleman helping me was very friendly and welcoming. Pizza was FANTASTIC! The pizza fries were outstanding- perfectly cheesy, golden, and garlicky. I love the sauce served with it... flavorful. The pizza was cooked to perfection as well. Everything was excellent. Small neighborhood family owned pizza shop that's been around for years. They offer pickup and delivery. Small waiting area with chairs, but no option to eat inside. They also have coupons on their pizza boxes available as well or on their website. Highly recommend! Was looking for some good food for cheap and wow a coupon email came in for Rocco's. What perfect timing. The email stated 2 large pizzas for $11.99. That is an awesome deal. I read and re-read the email several times to make sure it wasn't $11.99 each. Called up to order and my total was ~$24, hmmmmmm. Got to the store and asked them what gives, Everyone in the place played dumb and stated limit 3 and we don't write the emails. Distracted by this I left with my pizzas only to get home and realize that my pepperoni and sausage was a pepperoni and mushroom. Drove all the way back, grrrrr, and they swapped pizza's. Got home and have the cheese had slid off the pizza into the box. Grrrrrrr Can't recommend and won't go back. read more

I love Rocco's pizza!! I always order large pepperoni with extra cheese and sauce and it's to die for!!! They don't deliver in my area which is a shame!! but I'll definitely pick some up when I'm around their location. I'm still going to give them 5 because I have never had this happen till tonight but I decided to go outside my norm and order sausage and mushroom pizza and the bottom was soggy. I still ate it cause it has such good flavor but if you order anything like mushrooms on a pizza I would just suggest to mention that to them and maybe they can keep it in for a bit longer for you. Too bad because the pizza is decent. we called on 12-26 at 5:23 and were told one hour. 90 minutes later we called back and a rude woman (she refused to give her name) told us it Was on its way (we are 11 minutes apart) and when we asked to speak to a manager she hung up on us. 20 minutes later we called back and were given the Same story (on it's way). At that point we made grilled cheeses and soup. The pizza showed up at 715- almost two hours later, and we told the delivery guy no thanks, keep your pie. nobody ever followed up with us. as I said. I love this place! I will go out of my way to get Roccos, but this location is especially friendly. I love everything I've tried, especially the bourbon wings and the taco pizza (not on the online menu which is a bummer, you have to call to get it but it's totally worth the phone anxiety!) Other notables: takeout or delivery both great, tons of sauce on the wings, and awesome pizza fries. The pies are large and filling, and SQUARE slices - love! I didn't like my pizza. 3 stars is generous. Usually I go to Carbone's, but a lot of people said they liked this place so I tried it. The sausage was off-tasting to me. More like chunks of plain ground pork, but with an off flavor. Mushrooms tasted like a tin can. Yuck. Cheese was visible but didn't have much flavor. I'm going back to Carbone's, and I'm staying with Carbone's. They make pizza the way I like it, consistently. Rocco's pizza is a bit smaller, too. Just didn't taste good. Roccos is easily the best pizza pizza in the twin cities. What I mean by pizza pizza is not that highfalutin brick oven, arugula, fried egg, guancale blahblahblah. Don't get me wrong, I love that stuff but Roccos hits the spot as a great pizzeria place. I can remember my family (Grandparents, aunts, uncles and parents) getting Roccos pizzas for the past 20 years. My mom's family are westsiders who grew up on Smith Avenue. Roccos was a Friday night tradition for many years and I still drive from Merriam park to the west side for their pizza because there isn't quite anything like it near me. It is a great little building with a big open kitchen that just cranks out tons of pizzas. I feel like they have an intense neighborhood cult following because they always seem pretty busy. The guys working behind the counter and making the za are really nice and friendly as well. Consistency is the name of the game with them, their crust is not too thin or too thick, golden brown, and kind of a like a great bread soft but with some crispy goin on. The sausage has great spice and flavor! Every pizza I get is great and I know I can't count on it to be delicious. Tip: the pizza fries are insanely good-simple but garlicky, salty and cheesy!
