Beautiful furniture and a pleasant atmosphere when you walk in, but first impressions are not always accurate. I was greeted by a kind young man who talked through some the background of the store with me. However when the owner of the store, an older lady with a slight European accent, appeared, she was rather rude. My experience with her was similar to other reviewers of this particular Roche Bobois: aggressively told not to touch or look at the price in strident tones, watched like a hawk so that I felt extremely uncomfortable browsing, and made to feel unwelcome due to my younger age. Clearly she didn't feel the need to be polite since she didn't think I was a real customer, and thanks to her behavior, I certainly do not intend to become one. While the home furnishings are wonderful and I've become inspired by some of the designs I saw, I'd much rather give my business to another Roche Babois with better customer service. read more

I went in looking to furnish my new place. I walked into the place, it smelled like cigarette smoke. The lady is nowhere to be found, all you hear is someone on speakerphone. I sat on a chair to see how soft it was and she comes from the back, still on the phone, and says "sold". I look confused and she says "it's sold" and then walks back to the back room. If I could, I'd give zero stars. Don't buy from here unless you like the smell of cigarette smoke in all your brand new over priced furniture. read more

Went in to purchase a couch for my home in short north. Was having great service from the designer working there and had made progress in deciding what I wanted to buy. Then the manager rudely interrupted talking to him about work when I was the only customer in the store. After which she asked me to not sit on a couch and use the recliner. I got up and walked out it was so rude. The floor models should be there so you can get a sense of what you're purchasing. It was no wonder the store was empty. Beautiful furniture, a fusion of classic and modern design, incredibly helpful staff, and shipping options on almost everything. Two stories of 'wow' that certainly bests Crate & Barrel or Pottery Barn in terms of quality and customer service. High prices be damned, the salespeople were low pressure and knew when to talk and when to allow you to browse.....a rarity amongst high end furniture stores. I wish the store stayed open later during the gallery hop as I'd place their wares on par or better than most of the items at the gallery hop in terms of artistry and unique beauty. read more

Beautiful furniture, rude ownership. For a brand that prides itself on sustainable practices, this location's flagrant and chronic dumping of the store's freight packaging in private dumpsters along Pearl Alley serves up a heavy dose of brand disconnect. The owner is aggressive and unapologetic... even when its pointed out that the truckloads of dumped trash have her name and address on it. This outlet is such a disconnect with the rest of the Roche Bobois franchise -- it deserves a better agent to represent it in Columbus. read more

Gorgeous furniture, most of it in leather. But what would you expect with price tags upwards of $5,000. I didn't go upstairs and mostly downstairs are couches and chairs and one dining room table. Oh, and art, at prices comensurate. They ought to provide free valet parking. lol read more

Roche Bobois in Columbus is the "best" place to purchase furniture and accessories for your home if you are looking for beautiful European items. It is the ONLY place my husband and I will buy furniture at as what we bought 20+ years ago, we still love! Isabella has an unbelievable color sense. She knows how to read her customers and will only sell you pieces you will adore. Her style is AMAZING! She knows how to put a room together like no one else and it is timeless. Her creativity is beyond any decorator I have ever worked with! If you want your room to have that "wow" factor and not look like the boring large store look, this is definitely the place to go. What a delightful experience shopping in this luxurious short north boutique! I felt like I was in Paris when entering the recently remodeled store. The proprietor obviously knows her product and her expertise is greatly appreciated when trying to make a selection from all of the lovely pieces. The furniture is pricey but the quality is readily apparent. The furniture is like artwork and will be the centerpiece of the room. I only wish I could afford everything in the shop...even the wall panels! The store makes me want to drink champagne while I shop. read more

The owner is a sweet old lady that knows exactly when to help and is very good at answering any questions. There are tons of customization options to choose from so you can get exactly the piece you need for whatever space you are furnishing. This store is exactly what I was looking for and more! Beautiful pieces of furniture that would fit right in at any art museum, excellent staff ready to assist you in any way, and a newly renovated showroom that is a perfect environment for creativity and design create the perfect luxury furniture store that is Roche Bobois. Firstly, the furniture itself is astounding. All hand made and imported from Italy and France, it commands the attention of any viewer. Pieces ranging from a glass vase to entire sectionals and dining table line the entire showroom, all of which are very customizable. You may see a couch that you love but it is the wrong color leather or you would prefer in fabric. All of the products in the store can be manipulated whether it is material, size or add ons. I found the perfect sofa but wasn't in love with the color. I worked with the staff to picked from what seamed like 30 different colored leathers, ordered in online through the store, and received my dream couch in a few months. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I was immediately greeted at the door and was provided with assistance right from the start. They provide free interior design services and are very knowledgeable seeing as they are all interior designers or architects. I love my furniture and cannot wait to return to look for more. I highly recommend this store to anyone looking to bring beautiful, luvxury furniture to their space. read more

The furniture at Roche Bobois is, undoubtedly exquisite. If you've been searching for high end, contemporary European furniture, this may be among only a scant few places in Columbus that will have what you're looking for. I recently relocated to Columbus and have purchased furniture from Roche Bobois in other states so I am familiar both with the furniture and with the caliber of their customer service. I have no argument with the furniture. You get what you pay for - and the furniture is pricey. What I do have issue with is the level of customer service offered by the Columbus store. I suspect this review will be relegated to the "not currently recommended" reviews along with the 5 other reviews that have little good to say about customers' experiences. I did purchase from this store. It was singularly, the worst customer service I have ever received. In fact, the experience was so bad that I called the corporate offices in New York City to complain. This was not the first complaint they had received. In fact, in talking with my neighbors (Short North/Italian Village area), realtor, the developers of my condo building, and the architects, there was no one who had a good thing to say about the owner of the franchise. During the course of looking at the selection of items I was interested in, I was asked by Ms. Grayfer (the franchise owner), how much I wanted to spend. This struck me as not unlike a question I would get from a used car salesperson. When I informed her I would not discuss price, she began to harangue me to the degree that I informed her either the discussion stopped or I would leave. Since I was working with a sales associate, she walked away. At a time when even Value City offers delivery and set-up and every other furniture store in the area offers white glove delivery, the Columbus Roche Bobois does not. I was told to arrange for my own delivery and installation. Further, I was informed if anything was damaged in the process, the store would not be responsible. The delivery company Ms. Grayfer did end up recommending left hand prints all over my newly painted walls. Needless to say, my experience with other Roche Bobois stores was vastly different and this is when I called New York. They were similarly flummoxed at the level of concern about their product and the lack of customer service. As much as I love the furniture, all I can say is 'buyer beware.' Frankly, if I was coveting another piece of the Roche Bobois line, I would go anywhere other than Columbus to buy the furniture. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Purchased a $12,000 sofa which came damaged on the bottom when it was delivered. The owner's solution??? Use tape and no one will see it. She did nothing to rectify the situation except blame the delivery company and in the process accused me of lying. My advice? Steer clear of this overpriced poor quality store. read more

I am not exaggerating as I write this: Upon visiting the Roche Bobois showroom I was met with the most discourteous, unwelcoming treatment that I have ever received from any establishment. I am referring specifically to an older woman with an Eastern European accent although I am uncertain whether this individual is the owner or an employee. When I began to examine a glass vase I was instructed by this individual not to touch the piece. I could certainly understand her caution since the vase was fragile and so her request was not met with any qualms. However, my boyfriend and I were forbade from touching any furniture at all despite the fact that there were other patrons who were reclined on various pieces of furniture nearby, including someone with a pet dog in the store. I can not fathom the reason for such inappropriate treatment; perhaps it was due to our age, as my boyfriend and I are in our twenties. We were respectful of the establishment and the merchandise just as the other patrons were so I certainly feel the discrimination which we received was unnecessary and uncouth. The discrepancy in this employee's treatment of my party versus other customers was incredibly offensive. I could hardly believe the hostility we were met with and I am still in disbelief as I write this review. All of the businesses on Short North provided us with truly exceptional, warm service during our visit so I was appalled at the inhospitable behavior at this store. We will never set foot in this establishment again in anticipation of treatment as we experienced during our first visit. The store and merchandise are beautiful but I was confounded by the crass behavior of this individual in a high-end establishment where I expect employees should be as classy as the location in which they work. I hope that future clientele will be treated with etiquette and respect instead of such base treatment as we received. read more
