We started at Trafalgar Square, through Royal London (seeing the beginning and up close changing of the guard) then to St. James Park, on to Downing Street, Big Ben and so many other great historical locations. There is no cost for the tour, and the guides work solely on tips, but there was no pressure at all to do so. We tipped 20 pounds and it was worth every penny. You can tell Andrew loves what he does, and likes meeting new people. It was so good we went back for the 6:30 pm London's Ghostly Haunts Walk, but were 7 minutes late and missed it. She was very personable and we saw so much during our time together. I did the tour on a Saturday at 10:00 am. Tour began outside Green Park Station. It was easy to find the tour guide. This tour is 6 hours and I saw sites in Westminster, City of London, and additional sights. There is a lunch break halfway through the tour. The tour ends outside the Tower of London. To name a few, we saw Buckingham Palace, The Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, 10 Downing St., Churchill War Rooms, Trafalgar Square. We didn't go inside the places, just the outside of it. Though there was no changing of the palace guards on Saturday due to preparations for the coronation and Easter, we were able to see changing of the horse guard. Sinead knew exactly where to stand to have the best view. Sinead also has YouTube videos so definitely check out her channel if you are traveling to London. Free tours by foot are pay what you like tours. I highly recommend this tour if you want to get an overview of London's history and see iconic sites.

When I saw this tour, I thought of how fun it sounded to march along beside the guards. And it did…read morenot disappoint. Our tour guide, Alex, helped make the tour fun and very educational. It was great to listen to his commentary and also to march along beside them as they made their way to Buckingham Palace. We were able to see them from a few different spots and then we hung out at Buckingham Palace to take photos for a while before heading down to where the guards return after they're done. We would not have known about their return trip if it weren't for the information we got from Alex. It really was a great experience!

I visited the Historic Dockyard in Chatham during the summer of 2008. Given that there was so much…read moreto see, it was worth the money. The huge car park outside, means it will be very unlikely that you will ever struggle to find a car parking space. There are three main attractions in the dockyard - the HMS Cavalier (a naval destroyer), HMS Ocelot (an submarine) and HMS Gannet (an old royal naval part steam/sale ship). If you want to tour the HMS Ocelot you may have to wait until there is a tour available as only limited numbers of people can safely fit aboard the submarine at any one time. The 80 acre site also offers a number of other exhibitions - Royal Naval Auxiliary Service Museum, the Royal Nation Lifeboat Association historic lifeboat collection and the Kent Police Museum. The site also houses the Museum of the Royal Dockyard, and the Ropery which still commercially makes rope today. An informative tour is available in the Ropery which is included in the admission price - if you volunteer you even get to help make bit of your own rope. You are booked on this tour when you purchase your tickets. If you are in the area, this is a pretty good attraction, although it doesn't really compare to the historic dockyard in portsmouth.

My sister's into punk and ska and I'm an indie rock girl but both our tastes were accommodated as bands and musicians from all genres have lived and played in Camden. The tour is a great insight into the music history of Camden and I'd recommend it to anyone with an interest in alternative music. A really fun hour and a half!

On these tour he tells your tips on how to navigate around the city and etiquette. He was willing to give recommendations and directions when the tour ends too. Remember that these tours had a lot of research done and that you should tip as much you think it is worth. These tours are such worth it as they can build some structure on the trip. The meeting point was easy to find and conveniently located near central London (we met across the street from the Museum of Natural History) at 7:30 AM. We departed shortly after as scheduled. Our tour guide Sinead and driver Richard were fabulous! My main complaint is the bus itself. The seats were very uncomfortable! Secondly, the bus did not have windows, and that day it was so hot in London (80 degrees F/26.6 degrees C), but the air conditioning was not working. We were basically baking inside the bus for 2 hours back from Stonehenge to London! The Stonehenge was beautiful! Definitely a must see!
