When they got there they found tht some folks had jumped the gun and were already staked out. Thts where the State nickname of "Sooners" came from. People were there sooner than they should have been. Not much to see at this point except the sign but there are areas tht you can still find the wagon wheel ruts. These areas have been preserved.

Originally located at Statuary World in north OKC it was affectionately nicknamed "Big Jim" by locals and dinosaur enthusiasts. Standing 27 feet tall and stretching 56 feet long, it's a beloved piece of Oklahoma's quirky roadside history, often drawing families, photographers, and travelers for photo ops. After statuary World closed it was sold to a home improvements store in Yukon and when they were closing it found its way to their store in Midwest city. Jim is approx. 30 years old and is decorated with Christmas lights right now.
