Was in town for work and someone recommended this place when I mentioned Asian food. Since I am a big fan of pho, I decided to give it a try. Location is small, but nice and clean. Servers were very attentive and friendly. I had an order of egg rolls and the Rock Pho Special pho. The egg rolls were freshly made and cooked..and they were excellent. The sweet and sour sauce wasn't the standard syrup you get at many Asian places but was deep red and very tasty. The pho came out extremely hot and absolutely loaded with meat. We'd heard about this restaurant from our friends. Asian fusion. It's quite popular. The restaurant was full on a weekday evening (there was a big party). We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. There's a little bench to sit on while waiting. The doorway becomes crowded with people either waiting or coming in to pick up orders. The servers were great- very friendly and on top of things. We had the chicken pho- which was good sized and tasty. The Spicy Thai Basil was also good. Although there might be some spiciness in the sauce, it really wasn't noticeable. I'd recommend keeping some jalapeños in the mix or on the side for a little more spiciness. read more

We had a GREAT meal! This was my first time there, and will definitely be back. They were busy on Saturday night, but we were greeted with a friendly hello right away! They quickly got a booth ready for us. The atmosphere was relaxed and noise level minimal to allow for good conversation. We ordered the pot stickers which were served hot and fresh with a delicious dipping sauce! I ordered the pad Thai which was absolutely delicious! It was piping hot with fresh bean sprouts and a wedge of lime, chopped peanuts and cilantro. I loved every bite! My significant other had the Tom Yung Goong soup with shrimp. Once upon a time, my sister brought me here to try the Khao Piak, which is only served on Saturdays and Sundays. For the next eight weekends after that first encounter with this soup, you could find my fat ass parked in one of the booths, ordering exactly that. Also, why are the crab rangoons so good? Certainly there's plenty of Asian restaurants in Rockford but there's not a lot of options for pho around here. In this shopping center on Riverside is one. Rock-Pho'd actually has a pretty good variety. More than pho to get. There's also noodles, rice, and other stuff. At lunch here recently it was busy. It's certainly a popular place. There wasn't that long of a wait to get seated. Probably the pho is the most popular choice. There's none of that for vegetarians to get though. Instead we got a couple of the noodle choices. It's about $12 for these. Plenty of good ones and these were big too. I had the Kua Mee. This is Laotian style stir fried rice noodles with bean sprouts, cilantro, eggs which I left off, and green onions. Good spice but not too hot. This also comes with a protein choice, and I got the tofu. Get a good variety of Asian food. It has Thai and more. There's plenty of choices for vegans and vegetarians. read more

We followed the Yelp reviews to this cozy Asian fusion/pho/Thai restaurant in Rockford -- and so glad we did! Outstanding restaurant with great service! We started with pot stickers - delicious! No photo because it was devoured too fast. Hubs and I split the Panang Curry with rice. It had a kick and was so tasty! Not a drop left. Daughter had the Pho Soup: chicken, with basil, bean sprouts and seasoned up at the table with hoisin sauce and chili oil. Our server was very pleasant, which we appreciated since we raced in toward the end of their open hours. Food was delivered in good time. We love the food here. Would say it's the best Thai in town. However, my husband and I took our three young children (7, 5, and 2). We ordered three meals and shared them between us becuase they don't have a kids meal. They then charged us a group gratuity rate of 18% for having 5 people. Just had the most delicious Pad Siew. Full of fresh veggies and succulent bbq pork. So much food I needed a box of definitely recommend.

Also ordered the panang curry and it was a suppose to be mild but it was bit spicy. Think there were too many onions in the dish and it could have had more vegetables. You should reconsider your policy regarding dogs. One small dog sitting quietly on the owner's lap in a corner would not have disturbed anyone, especially considering that the dining room was empty at the time. Here is what we ordered... Spring rolls and pot stickers for appetizers. Shrimp Pad Thai, Beef Pad See Ew, Panang Curry Chicken, Beef Pho and Laotian savory sausages. The sausages were our favorite. For dessert we had the mango sticky rice. I've had this dessert in many restaurants; here they elevated the dish by adding a coconut cream and puffed rice. So good I would recommend all the dishes. David, our server, was professional, attentive, and very sweet. It was my birthday and thanks to him... The dinner was perfect. I've been to Rock-Pho'd about six times now, and the food is phenomenal. It comes out really hot, and the veggies are a bit crisp. The decor and lighting is comforting. They play Mark Wiens' YouTube channel on the TV which is wildly appropriate. Today my server, Kayla greeted me as soon as I walked in. She seated me and took my order after a minute or two. That probably sounds trivial to mention, but it's the first time the service wasn't complete crap. Once, I was seated and never got a menu or service so I left after 20 minutes. Another time a lady that was seated at the table next to me was the fourth person to come in after me, and she was done eating before I got a menu. Kudos to Kayla. This place never disappoints!!! I had the panang curry and it felt like a nice warm hug... same as the pho... the spring rolls rock as do the crab rangoon!! (My only complaint is I wish they sold them in even numbers so I don't have to fight with my boyfriend over the last one!) The service is excellent! Servers are friendly everyone time we go there. Their Laab was decent with lots of lime and cilantro but the meat was a tad chewy and my sticky rice was cold even though it was served to me in a container solely designed for the purpose to keep the rice warm. It wasn't a bad meal on any account but it didn't blow me away. I also asked for the hottest amount of spice and it wasn't very hot. The green papaya salad however had much too much fish sauce/shrimp paste and tasted too much like stinky socks... and I love fish sauce. We asked for this one to be medium heat and my poor mother couldn't eat more than a bite, there were so many birds eye chilis. Maybe they mixed my entree up with the appetizer but it made it very difficult to share. All in all I am not sure I'll rush back but I also wouldn't tell people I didn't like the place. read more

Funny name, but it perfectly fits Rock fahd. What the Fah? It's Rock-Pho'd. Really good crab rangoons with more fried parts than most places. Pot stickers were too much fried area for me. So up and down with the starter plates. This place does have great curry panang. Very flavorful but not enough rice to eat it with, which is one of the 1st times I've never gotten enough white rice! Found this place on accident. Wanted to go to the Cajun place down the street but they were closed. And boy am I lucky. Start to finish the food was fantastic. The rice was so good. Lots of meat, no skimping here. Portion sizes are borderline obnoxious. The flavors of the veggies, rice, meats was pure perfection. The star of the show is that mango sticky rice though. Wow.
