I pleaded with them, could I stay and get worked in?? I fasted all night.?? They asked me to reschedule for a MONTH OUT. That's it. They did me wrongly by denying care like that.

He eventually wend over to MDVIP, which was very costly. We stop using his service, but stayed with the office. We both currently have Nurse Practitioners and don't mind at all. They are very capable of handling what needs to be done on office visits. The office staff is also very professional all the way from entering in at the front office. If you need bloodwork done, they also are friendly and done professionally as well. Office Manager and insurance questions are always answered in a professional manner. They ALL take the time out for us if we have any questions. Great office and staff. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a PCP.

However, after the experience first hand, I believe this is an outstanding approach and much different from the model where they task doctors to see hundreds of patients and charge as much as possible. This membership model is affordable, but more so my new Primary Care Doctor at Family Tree Primary Care took time to go over all my concerns as well as what she wanted to go over too in great detail. I did not feel rushed and I did not feel like another number. Everything was clearly explained and the discounts for a wide variety of services ranging from bloodwork to scanning, medications to other tests are outstanding. I believe this model of patient engagement, connection and authentic concern for health and wellness is a great alternative to the popular and less effective primary care model that is out there. To me, this is the future of patient care, where a patient is cared for as the individual person.

Dr. Rosen is very caring, very good about returning phone calls if there is an emergency or a question, even if it is after hours and he is paged. When my mother recently had a problem with spiking BP, Dr. Rosen actually called Mother back from a Magic game. He has never failed to be cordial, concerned, and compassionate. All messages are promptly and courteously relayed. The receptionist is often the first line of communication, and if he/she is not reliable, no matter how good the doctor is, it complicates things for the patient and can often result in unnecessary frustration for both patient and physician. Both Mari and Stephanie are GREAT. The only downside is that Dr. Rosen relies on hospitalists if one of his patients is hospitalized. However, that has no reflection on Dr. Rosen's abilites as an excellent, very compassionate doctor, but the use of hospitalists to care for patients is not, in my opinion, to the patient's advantage. I wish that Dr. Rosen had hospital privileges so that if my parents were ever hospitalized, he would be able to be the one to directly oversee their care. I highly recommend Dr. Rosen.

The staff is sociable enough, but that doesn't make up for the wait times. Just to drop a urine sample, the wait was over twenty minutes. They keep the collection kits in the bathroom, we didn't even need to see a practitioner to drop the sample and still they kept my mother waiting until she was nearly ready to have an accident.

Although my physician approved it, the insurance authorization paperwork has still not been completed as of July 21. During several phone calls over the past week, I was repeatedly told that the technician responsible for insurance authorizations has been busy seeing patients and will complete the paperwork when they have time. I understand that healthcare offices are busy, and I appreciate the staff's efforts. However, relying on spare moments between patient appointments to process insurance authorizations does not seem to be a sustainable system. It has delayed my medication for nearly a week beyond my physician's approval, causing me to miss the scheduled start of my treatment. Fortunately, my medication is not life-threatening, but many patients depend on timely access to their prescriptions. I hope you will review the workflow at the Oviedo office and consider allocating dedicated time or additional staffing for insurance authorizations so that patients can receive the medications their physicians have already prescribed without unnecessary delays. Imagine, if you will, a man of average altitude (give or take the height of a hedgehog), radiating the confidence of someone who has not only read Gray's Anatomy but probably corrected several typos in it. His bald head gleams not with sweat, but with reflected diagnostic enlightenment, as though the very act of thinking polishes his scalp. He wears scrubs in the color of determined competence and, most impressively, shoes that look as though they were forged in a parallel dimension where footwear is considered a high art and mild teleportation is expected. Dr. Sontag does not simply "ask questions" -- he interrogates your molecules. He doesn't read charts -- he intuits them through gravitational waveforms. And when he assesses your vital signs, the universe momentarily pauses to measure its own. Within a dozen minutes, I had both answers to medical questions I hadn't asked and a minor existential crisis that resolved itself when he calmly said, "You're fine, probably." His diagnosis was prompt, his advice clear, and his departure silent -- save for the subtle whoosh of his shoes shifting realities again.
