Here is what happened to me today, 28 February, 2023L When I made an appointment by phone for an eye exam two weeks ago, I specifically asked how much it would cost. I was told by the very friendly voice of "Wally" that it would be $189.00 He then asked me if I had Medicare and supplemental insurance. I said yes, and then asked how much of that Medicare would pay. He said 80% if I had met my deductible. I went ahead and made an appointment. I called back a second time and asked Wally to confirm that it would be $189. He confirmed. When I showed up today for the appointment I asked Wally again how much it will be. For a third time he said $189, and I gave him my Medicare and insurance cards. After doing this and before going in for the exam I thought I had better confirm the price one more time because I didn't want to get stuck with a surprise bill. This time he said that it will be $189 "If you pay in cash today" and $249. "if you use Medicare," and you have to pay today $79.00 for "non-payment service." I protested, saying that he didn't tell me all this the two times I talked with him on the phone or when I asked him the first time when I came today for the appointment. He denied everything. This is the typical "Bait and Switch" tactic. I asked to see Dr. Crowder because I wanted to register my complaint with her. She came out and sat down with me, but explained that it was $189. "if I paid cash," but $249. "if I used Medicare." I said I was not told that until just now. It didn't make any difference. I said I would post a review. She asked me if I would report it to Medicare. I said I would. As a taxpayer, I do not believe it is fair to charge one amount for a cash price and a higher price to Medicare. BEWARE! Paul M.

(Proof in the email confirmation) Once I arrived for the appointment, I only waited a few minutes before being seen. When I sat in the chair, I asked about my cleaning. The dental assistant said I was not scheduled for a cleaning. I explained my situation (me scheduling a cleaning) and Dr. Anderson came to speak with me. She was polite, apologized and offered for me to wait an hour for a cleaning (which I could not to because of my work schedule). I left. I then got a bill for $50 stating I had an exam that day. I was in the office for less than 8 minutes total. I just sat in the chair and asked about my cleaning which they told me was never scheduled. I went back to the office TWICE requesting information and asking to speak with the doctor. The receptionist was EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude. She told me that I was not allowed to speak with the doctor or anyone besides her. She told me that no one else "had time" to give me a call or speak with me in person. I asked several times to be contacted with an explanation and never received a phone call. She told me that they "had a right" to not schedule me for what I asked for. Her customer service was incredibly disrespectful and very poor. In the end, I had to pay $50 for nothing. IF I would have had my cleaning that day, as I requested to be scheduled, my insurance would have covered it (I called my insurance to double check) but because Rocktown Dental didn't schedule it, I had to pay a $50 copay for me sitting in a chair. I am extremely shocked and disappointed in the poor customer service here! I've NEVER been treated so poorly!

As we entered, my husband was told that there would be a 2 to 3 hour wait and that we could get my husband registered and then they would call us when it was his turn. Tim went inside at 1pm when we hadn't heard anything and he was told there were still 6 ahead of him. At 2pm I checked at the registration desk and was told that there were 3 people ahead of him.....at 2:30pm (having waited FIVE HOURS) he went into the facility and inquired as to how much longer it would be and the girl at the front desk responded with an attitude that they only had 2 providers and should be soon. Finally at 2:45pm he was escorted to a treatment room where he waited for 30+ minutes with no one checking on him or telling him anything. He went back to the front desk and asked if he had been forgotten and was all but yelled at that the provider would be in soon. At 3:30pm I entered and inquired at the front desk as to his status and was told that she would check, though the receptionist seemed very miffed that I was asking. I stood there waiting and the girl puttered around, clearly purposely wasting time....another patient entered and asked about the wait....you guessed it, she was told it was 2 to 3 hours....LIES! The girl glared at me and informed me that Tim was "with the provider" and she slammed the slider window closed. In a couple of minutes another lady, who identified herself as "Michelle and I am the owner of this practice" and said "is there a problem?". I explained that we had been told that the wait would be 2 to 3 hours and that we had waited SIX HOURS!....her response was "you can leave if you don't like it." While it is true we could have left, we went to this practice for TREATMENT....and six hours seemed excessive and the attitude and lack of professionalism by the front staff....and even more the owner....was ridiculous! MARY, the nurse practitioner who ultimately treated Tim was awesome....she was the ONLY bright spot in this deplorable facility. I would strongly advise you steer clear of Valley Urgent Care.....the lack of consideration COMMUNICATING if there were going to be delays shows a lack of respect for patients attempting to get care. Interesting that they have this sign posted....perhaps their leadership is the problem!
