I really want to give more stars to this place. The food itself was very good, but the service wasn't that great. I have a tomato allergy and the waitress understood- yet my burger still had tomato on it and a side of ketchup. Not sure where in the line it was lost in communication, but this is a potential disaster waiting to happen for someone that might not be as attentive. Simply taking the tomato off does not help, the juices and seeds are also problematic. The replacement plate had ketchup on it, which thankfully is just in a little condiment cup and can be removed. It just was like... really? Does the term "allergy" mean anything to them? We had to leave when the corrected burger came out and went to pay... somehow my replacement tomato-free burger was on the bill (as well as the one that was screwed up) and they gave us cash back for one instead of refunding the card. My sister and husband asked me where could they go on a Saturday night for Date Night, I recommend Rockwood. So they went last night 10/19/19. I just grabbed coffee and asked my sister how did it go? She said, well music and people watching was fun BUT service was Horrible. We order a few appetizers and drinking. First we ordered 2 Sangrias, JC had a few sips and didn't like it, we asked the server to please change them to something else, The Server response was "Well you already had a few sips so I can't take it back" They told the they were not looking for anything FREE they just didn't want to drink something they didn't want. They order 2 Miller Lights and a Coke, the server took over 30min to bring the beers and forgot the Coke, when they asked for the server that they were still waiting on a Coke server said " oh yeah" Brought a Halfway fill glass..... when the check came they were charged for both Sangria they sent back and the service circle gratuity 20%. Check was $60.00 I asked my sister why didn't they ask for a manager that service and treatment is NOT OKAY. My sister said, Sandra we went to have a fun and you know how JC is not the type to complain. So overall, I had a good time, BUT We will Definitely Not be going back to that place again. I am Very very disappointed. I'm somewhat of a regular at this bar, I only sit at the bar, one because of Jess, love that girl, great bartender and great service. My sister refuses to tell me the servers name. I was looking forward to watching World Series there, but I guess I'll be going to Velocity Wings. Normally, I am incredibly pleased with the food and the service. Tonight, not so much. Our waiter barely came by the table. The food tonight was mediocre to terrible. I've had the French onion soup before and loved it. Tonight is was so salty it was close to inedible. The loaded tots were under cooked and falling apart. My youngest got the Cuban which was good, but they changed their fries and they were cold, soggy and had no seasoning on them. Some may say "Why didn't you say something?" Went for Father's Day brunch and so disappointed. Buffet items were cold, no warming trays to keep food hot. The carving station was disorganized and unkept and the server preparing the pasta had to remake the dish twice as the noodles were dry and clumped . The food quality overall was poor. Sat down for 20 minutes and no one came to help us. Waitress and Manager asked every table behind us how everything was. Wasn't an extremely busy night. Not sure what happened. I've been back here a million times since my original post, they have the best food, best staff and a great atmosphere. They added singers on some nights that are amazing. Normally, we like Rockwood but last night was a disappointment. We waited awhile to be seated and once seated we were sat in a bad location. We had to ask if we had a waiter after we waited a long time. Even after that we had to wait. plenty of others tables open and seemed to be well satffed. We ended up just leaving since it didnt seem like we would be were getting any service. We were there to watch the Steelers game and we definitely found "our people": at least 15 people were there in their Steelers jerseys! We ordered a bucket of beers (4-16oz.) that arrived fully iced and cracked open. We then ordered the Spinach & Crab Dip appetizer to start. The dip was excellent but most of the chips were either stale or uncooked. We couldn't find our server so we charged on, bite-testing chips before loading up on dip. When she checked on us, we alerted her to the problem and she offered more chips but there wasn't much dip left. So she said, "we'll see if we can take care of that." We chose to split the Shaved Prime Rib (think French Dip) because it promised shaved prime meat with sautéed onions and mushrooms--and because we needed room for the beer! The sandwich was good but SUPER light on meat and had barely any onions or mushrooms. We could have made one decent half sandwich with all the meat on the entire sandwich. Such potential, what a shame. The Sidewinder Fries were delicious, kind of a twisted steak fry. The seasoning was perfect and the crispy outside gave way to a tender potato inside... nice! Kara, our server, was friendly but not as attentive as we would have expected in a sports bar. We had to wait quite awhile to get water refills and to tell her about the chips. But she did wind up comping the dip and apologized for the inconvenience. It's was nearly New Years so we tipped nicely on the original check and wished her a Happy New Year. The atmosphere is super fun... we felt "at home" with the throng of Steelers fans, sharing random high fives and shouts between us when good plays were made and unfavorable calls overturned! Lots of ~40" TVs around the entire bar and along the outer walls and two wall-sized screens are mounted on the two front walls of the restaurant. This seems to be a solid new place if you're feeling like an upscale pub experience. The interior is sleek and nice for a date or a casual meal. The service was very good and otherwise no complaints at all about the ambiance. We tried the spinach and crab dip, which was good but a bit runny. If it were slightly thicker it would've made for a more cohesive dip. The GOAT was also a pretty decent drink, mixed well and served in a big glass if you're feeling saucy. The fajitas were exactly what you'd expect, but the one downside is they are served on a wooden plank. Where most places serve on a skillet so your food stays hot, this one doesn't. That's totally fine, but I think the expectation I think didn't meet reality based on what most people think of when they think fajitas. The ribeye was fantastic. Cooked to order (medium rare because I'm not mean to my meat) and the bourbon sauce was awesome. The sidewinder fries also very delicious. There was a bit more fat than expected on the ribeye, which was disappointing but not enough so that I wouldn't order it again. We tried the brownie dessert, and while it was delicious, definitely the kind of dessert you eat alone. They don't portion like some places who want to give you diabetes. Tried it out, wasn't impressed. Service was really good, presentation was fine but the food is just meh bar food. It's too loud. It's a glorified Buffalo Wild Wings. Too much concrete, high ceilings, the roar hits you when you walk in the door. The decor is fine. The Diablo wings aren't really spicy, were tasty enough but share the name of next door, Grafton's wings so I feel like they didn't research their market very well. The wedge salad was down right anemic. No green in that thing. The Bleu cheese dressing is from a jar. Fish & Chips was ok, and the Cuban was just ok. The sides were good. Truffle Mac, no truffle flavour but decent texture and the creamed spinach was very good. The Yelp page has 6 pics, their FB page has no food pics. They need to step up their marketing! read more

Overall pretty good and would come back to try other menu items. But I want to point out a couple things, none which effected the rating. When one walks into a restaurant, the hostess usually greets the customers with a smile. Well I can say that there were two hostesses, one with colored hair(purple maybe?) who was did exactly what a hostess should. The other (dark hair in a bun, heavy set) who looked like she didnt want to be there and never even bothered trying to crack a smile. Just sayin...if you are having a bad day, you still need to fake it or something...you are a hostess. It's your job to greet so do it right or find another job. And she was like this the entire time as she seated others and walked by. Anyways, our hostess took us to our booth. There was a family sitting in the booth next to ours. Ok why they hung their jackets over the booth chair so they were basically 3/4 hanging on our side. They saw my child and I there getting ready to sit and never flinched on trying to move their jackets...ignorant privileged asses! Common courtesy is to move the jackets. So I just stood there, looked at the jackets then looked at the hostess cause if she doesnt say something to them, I will! She must have saw the expression on my face because she quickly asked if we wanted to move to another booth. Yes that would be best! Another couple actually got seated there after us but the waiter had to actually ask the rude asses to move their jackets off. Back to the food review...we started with their wings. It came out piping hot and were a good size. We asked for old bay and spicy bbq with both ranch and blue cheese. They were nicely crisp but the old bay seasoning was lacking. Couldn't taste any seasoning sadly. The spicy bbq was good though. So I would say yes again to the wings but try a different flavor. And we only got ranch, no blue cheese. I ordered the Cuban sandwich, my husband ordered the fried chicken BLT, my son ordered the jerk chicken and the baby (he's actually 10) ordered the kids pasta. The Cuban was pretty good but one half seemed to have more mustard than the other...the side with mild mustard tasted better for me. My husband said the chicken BLT was good but the chicken can stand a bit more seasoning...need a kick or something. My son's jerk chicken was good but again he expected a little more "jerk" in his chicken. The rice and beans were in separate bowls but actually mixed together made it taste better. Kinda bland when you eat it separately. The kids pasta was just that. Pasta with tomato sauce. He likes it like that though so no complaints there. So I guess the overall suggestion would be more seasoning on the food. Oh but kudos on the fries. Different shaped (cross between a steak fry and curly fries), crisp outside with soft inside. For dessert we ordered the special-fried ice cream with fresh sliced strawberries and the apple pie with ice cream. I thought the fried ice cream was really yummy. The outer fried shell tasted like frosted flakes, just too bad it wasn't bigger. The apple pie was good but the menu said 'with your choice of homemade ice cream' and we were not asked. It came with vanilla so not sure what other flavors or if there really wasn't any other choices. We enjoyed it anyways. So basically the 4 stars instead of 5 is for the lack of flavor/seasoning on the few entrees we tried. Everything was pretty good but definitely can be better in some areas. read more

Add to that a highly limited menu because they wanted every one to do a brunch buffet at $37/person. We did that before, and it wasn't worth it. Which, according to everyone we have spoken to, is why they go. The last time we went, there was a very small incident, nothing crazy but the manager was NOT pleasant. Believe his name was John. Went to Rockwood for my 19th birthday, when it *was* awesome. Tonight, however, was an unprofessional, non-hygienic, and crap-food disappointment because whatever changes they did made turned this place in to a bare-minimum restaurant. Starter was shrimp, they give you four shrimp with sauce for $12. It was ok.... but not even CLOSE to $12 good. After that, I order the meal I raved to my boyfriend about. We asked for medium rare, and we got dark brown all the way through with half the amount of guacamole, cheese, sour cream, etc in all the tiny cups. I ask the waiter what happened to the steak and he claims I definitely asked for 'medium'. Not a chance buddy. I know how to order a steak (medium rare always) and that was not qualified as medium to begin with. Dishes are dirty. People in front of me had old food on silverware and we overheard server say that "dishes are hit-or-miss every night"........ Anyways, on top of that, staff are loitering behind me. Resting against the wall and having foul language conversations RIGHT behind me!!! Look at the group of staff in the photos. You would think a manager would be on this, but he wasn't, out of the whole 1.5hrs he only came out ONCE to ask someone the sales behind me. Then he went back in to the back.
