This used to be a decent sandwich shop. Now it's a pawn shop trying to pass as an antique shop…read more It's been open for awhile. I stopped in last summer and got a low-ball offer on a specialty power tool I no longer use. At the time, the lady behind the counter took a picture and texted it to the owner and he sent back the lowball offer. I didn't take it at the time. Fast forward to today, and in the name decluttering, I decided to take it in and accept a reasonable price in the range of the previous offer. Again the owner was not present. This time however, a different woman was behind the counter and texted him. I browsed the shop for close to ten minutes. She finally said "he's busy today. You can come in tomorrow." I live more than 40 miles from town. I'm not just coming back to town tomorrow. You've lost my business. I'll declutter to another town. And it's to bad as, you have some interesting stuff in the store. I live in the middle of nowhere, but there's multiple directions to somewhere with quality service and shopping.

The store was neatly stocked and clean. Everything was visible and easy to find. The cashier was very nice and helpful. I found everything we needed and the prices were reasonable.

It has been owned and operated by the same family for over 100 years, and one of the proprietors (Bess Isaacs) is the daughter of the town's first doctor, and has amazing stories to tell. Mrs. Bess, Richard, David and the rest of the family usually can find it in the back. If they don't have it, they often can order it and have it to you within weeks. It is so refreshing to have a store that serves it's community without jacking the prices thru the roof. This is an awesome family owned business that I recommend to everyone!
