It was a wise choice. This is a favorite hotel for us. The "log cabin-ish" theme carries throughout, with extra focus/ detail on the themed suites. (My only complaint on the top-tier suites is that they're right at the top of the stairs and people LOVE thumping up and down them, loudly. We went with the room category down, which still has a separate whirlpool that's not in the restroom though it doesn't have a TV & fireplace specifically for said whirlpool. A fair sacrifice for a quiet room. The room was clean and spacious, with woodland creature adornments (moosetrack room). Breakfast was not worth stopping for. One pan of hot items, apples, and sweet stuff - even the blueberries were sweetened. (If you're there for the evening reception, that's definitely worth attending.) There were ample towels & outlets. It came it right at $150 after taxes/fees. We slept well & woke up refreshed, ready for our long drive.

The amenities are outstanding: pool, sauna, clean well-equipped gym and nice courtyard with drinks and snacks. The rooms are very clean, nicely laid out, equipped with everything you need to cook (full size fridge, stovetop, utensils/cookware/plates), etc. Very nice! The only thing I would add would be more breakfast options for those of us that are vegans; however, I know it's the Midwest so that's asking a lot. Maybe adding some fresh fruit like grapes, berries, granola, etc. Also pancakes or waffles would be nice. This is the reason for the 4.5 stars instead of 5

I suspect given its easy interstate access it's a popular spot for out of town sports teams to use. Expect busy breakfast lines and a packed saltwater swimming pool when you go. While a new hotel, it seemed like the property could use a little more maintenance. Things like gravel in the crowded parking lot and moldy showers were a bit of a ding on what was a spotless property.

I was disgusted - I sent an email to Hilton. They called me back but said they were a different management company and couldn't help. I complained to the front desk. The girl there was nice and said the manager would call me to discuss but he never did.

It's inconvenient to only have one ice machine for a four story complex. Additionally it would be nice if the refrigerators had freezer sections for freezing ice packs. Our tv was not plugged in, however, the attendant did fix that and brought us more toilet paper we requested. They do aim to please here if you ask, and I respect that, the reason for a 3 star instead of 2. Just not quite what I'm used to as far as hotel stays.
