There is a beautiful lobby that is always nicely seasonally decorated. The fireplace is so pretty and inviting during the colder months. This venue can hold hundreds of people. There are hotel rooms in the back, facing the river. The River Centre is located in a sleepy little Ozark town, Van Buren, Missouri. The backdrop to the River Centre is stunning. I've never been to a paid event here but I imagine the prices are in line with other venues of this size. The Blue Heron restaurant is located inside the River Centre and it is a wonderful restaurant. People come from out of town to eat here. Amazing place to eat. The River Centre is easy accessible and parking is plentiful. There is no reason for you to not attend. You will be so glad you attended an event or dined here.

The oldest building in Fisk, this bar opened in the late 1920s as a perfect example of how little Prohibition mattered in the state of Missouri. The current owner, who was tending bar, has owned the place for about 55 years. My pictures don't do it justice but I love the woodwork in these old bars. Places like this are living history and I always enjoy finding them. Nothing fancy and nothing on tap, just ice cold domestic cans and bottles.
