I had a fairly big backyard remodel that Robert and his team did. There were 2 phases to the project that spanned almost 9 months. The work included all new concrete, building 2 decks, planting all new plants/planters, installing a spiral staircase, replacing a bunch of windows (which included stucco and painting) and installing a bifold door out to a deck. 1) Demolition- very efficient and clean- almost no debris left after each day. That makes a HUGE difference when you have to demo. 2) Construction- Robert and his team do BEAUTIFUL work. They pay attention to detail and quality. It takes a bit longer but it is worth it. 3) Flexibility- Like any project, there were modifications along the way. Robert was great at incorporating the changes and making it work. He strives to keep his customer happy! 4) Sticking to his estimate. This is a big one for me. I like the estimate to be precise and any unforeseen deviations should not be passed onto the customer. Of course things that I added after the original estimate were separate, but he was able to complete the job within the estimate for the original scope of work. We had a few communication issues along the way, which seems to be par for the course these days with contractors as they are so busy, but ultimately we were able to connect and keep the project on track. I would definitely recommend Robert and his crew due to the quality of their work but I would caution that you will need to have patience if it is a larger project. read more

Not only was their service great but his pricing is super competitive. Also, I have to mention that the cleaned up the entire area too after they were done, that means a lot that they took the time to brush the driveway and alleys of our home. I needed my lawn aerated because it was drying out, and our timer also broke. Robert aerated the front and backyard, helped me set up the new timer, adjusted the sprinklers, and made repairs to several of the sprinkler heads. He made a trip to the store to make sure I was set up with the right parts going forward. As what the bottom reviews say... be aware. When they first came to do the work, they did a good job. But it was disappointing over time because they started cutting corners and not come on a scheduled date. They are extremely slow to respond or wont show up. If you want a one time service, go ahead. But if you are looking for a continuous service, stay away because they will never come at the scheduled day and/or give you a notice/response. read more

They're getting a second star simply because they were at least consistent coming to my house, which is better than others I've hired. These guys have done such an awful job at taking care of my landscaping. Very obvious large weeds growing up through plants, allowing plants to grow over grow others, improper trimming of plants, the list goes on. I've had to call them back to fix their own really terrible jobs two or three times over the past 8 months. I would never recommend these guys to anyone. read more

Just an update. I am kind of bummed because when I met with the designer Chris I made it clear that I wanted plants that wouldn't get eaten by the rabbits. He said no problem and even wrote that in my original project plan. However Rojas planted scaevola which while very lovely, seem to be prime rabbit food. Half of the scaevola have been eaten away so far and they rabbits are gleefully starting on the rest. I am paying my gardener to plant succulents in their place as they get eaten away. I had contacted Rojas a few months ago about fixing the bending board (one piece broke about 1 month after it was installed) and he didn't get back to me with an answer even though I texted a few times. We hired Robert to upgrade our front yard with DG, a flagstone pathway, drought tolerant plants, and drip irrigation. His guys had to dig out a root the size of a tree trunk just to ensure the weeds did not come back. 5 Star Professional, Friendly, Prompt, Quality Service! In the middle of the night we realized our 10+ year old sprinkler system sprung a leak. We tried to block the leak with pipe tape as a temporary solution. Yea, that didn't work...At 7am I called Robert after reading positive reviews on Yelp and he picked up right away (1st star). We arranged for him to come by that morning I appreciated his being available on short notice, because when you have an unexpected house emergency you frantically want to get it fixed so being available same-day helps A LOT (2nd star). He arrived in the morning and provided me with his business card complete with state license info so you know you're dealing with a professional right off the bat (3rd star). We surveyed the damage and I learned that the broken component is called an irrigation valve. He provided a very reasonable quote for parts & service and outlined what steps he would need to take and then we decided to move forward. Simple! (4th star). Soon he returned and had the components fixed quickly and painlessly. It's like I blinked and he had it fixed (5th star)! I also asked to survey my front & back yard and we will be moving forward with a quote for fixing my old irrigation system, converting to drip irrigation, adding graduated pavers to my backyard hill, grass or succulents and maybe some fruit trees (extra + stars!). Weeds to no end, way too many palm trees for the space, and just a mess. They cut down 3 palm trees, removed all of the weeds, leveled the area, planted 4 plants of my choosing, and spread approx 3-4 inches of red mulch over extra strong weed cloth they laid down as well. His pricing was great as I had 2 other landscapers come to give me estimates and they wanted an arm and a leg for what I thought was a pretty simple job. My review is based on Robert's work (5 stars) and his customer service (1 star) I hired Robert to trim 4 large palm trees, remove a hedge, fix a broken sprinkler pipe and add sprinkler heads. Robert and his crew worked fast and my palm trees look beautiful. The sprinkler heads were exactly what I wanted and the giant hedge is gone. Unfortunately, after fixing the broken pipe, the sprinkler system still leaked. My initial appointment with Robert was scheduled for Friday, July 14th. I had asked Robert to give me an idea as to the time he'll arrive. He told me he was trimming a small tree in the morning, and that he'd be over after that. To me, that sounded like maybe 10 or 11am...my fault for not asking for a specific time. By 1:00pm he had yet to show up. I texted him and he said he was on his way. He and his crew arrived around 1:30pm. After the work was completed, I paid Robert and he said he would call me to schedule a time to find and fix the second leak. On Thursday, July 20th, I had not heard from Robert so I sent a text asking when he would be returning. He replied that he could come the following Wednesday, July 26th. I agreed to Wednesday without asking for a specific time (You think I would have learned). On Wednesday, I texted Robert around 9:30am to pinpoint a time. He did not reply until 1:44pm, stating his guys were on the way. Unfortunately, I had somewhere I needed to be that evening at 5:00pm...when I mentioned this to Robert, he told me they would not have enough time to complete the work. I stated that, had he told me he wouldn't be coming until the afternoon, I would have told him I had plans for 5:00pm. His reply to that was, "Oh, I didn't think it mattered." He told me he would have to call me back to make another appointment. I told Robert, if he didn't want to deal with the leak, to let me know so I could hire someone else to fix it. He said that he did want to fix it because that's his job, it's what he does. So I waited for his call...and waited, and waited... I ended up calling someone who specializes in irrigation systems. He came out, easily found the second leak and fixed it quickly. (The same pipe Robert repaired was broken further down the line, so his work needed to be replaced) ...and I'm still waiting to hear back from Robert. read more

Replaced dead grass and moved sprinkler lines for wider planter area. 2. Fixed main sprinkler valve and replaced all 9 station valves.3. I am really happy with the work that Robert did for me. We had some flooding issues on the side of our house and I had Robert install a french drain and several more drains to better eliminate any standing water. While doing the work, Robert found that a root had grown into the pipe that drains at the street. He and his team worked to remove the root and repair the pipe. The french drain work was completed and everything was put back in place as if nothing had changed. Robert is professional, prompt, friendly and capable.
