Eric is definitely a top notch photographer! My fiance and I hired Eric to take our engagement photos in August of 2016, and it was nothing less than a great experience. Eric is the lighting king and has all of the equipment to capture beautiful photos to cherish for a lifetime. We received our photos about a 1 week later in the mail, on a thumbdrive. Making printing and sharing a breeze! Eric was recommended to my fiance and I through a mutual friend and he did not disappoint. The day I day I looked for a wedding photographer, I kid you not - it wasn't even a week before my husband and I were to get married in Santa Barbara. My photographer that I originally had just didn't work out. Eric and I managed to hack everything out in our first conversation; he was kind professional accommodating and most of all, very knowledgeable! On the day of our wedding at the Santa Barbara courthouse, a beautiful venue might I add, A political rally that was being held at the venue. We picked Eric to shoot our wedding because we loved the pics on his website. I have to say, he was incredible to work with! He was extremely professional throughout the process - with lots of great advice! He was also great at communicating how to help make the wedding and photos successful in advance of the wedding, before the ceremony and during the shoot which followed. He took many shots of the each picture to make sure he captured the perfect ones. I really like that he makes the photos available to us as well as all of our guests. Let me start by saying Eric is a fantastic photographer! But that isn't enough to really do him justice. When my wife and I got married, we were terribly underprepared and overwhelmed. We had been talking with Eric about just photo related stuff before we realized we were in over our heads. So we ended up asking Eric to basically step in as a pseudo wedding coordinator in addition and he kindly obliged, using his wealth of experience to help us get everyone where they needed to be, when they needed to be there. The idiom about herding cats would apply here, and he got us through it much smoother than it would have gone otherwise. If that had been all, I still would have written a positive review, but he really went above and beyond the call of duty to help us get professional grade prints of our pictures. The local shop in our area that made decent prints closed and not wanting to risk the ones he had made in LA get damaged in the mail, he drove a considerable distance to help us get them. Needless to say they are great, but the thoughtfulness of wanting to make sure the pictures of most important day of our lives got the appropriate care they deserve blew us away. Lastly, there's no way to sugarcoat it, wedding photos are pricey. If they're cheap, it'll show. But again, even if it had just been the photos we got at the price we paid, I'd still have left a positive review. But all the effort Eric put into being a great photographer and not just a guy with a camera is why I'm writing this review today. Top notch professional at a more than reasonable rate. How does he do it? Eric is an amazing photographer. I've had a linkedin photo shoot in Los Angeles and recently an on location beach photo shoot in Carpinteria with my two boys. Somehow Eric captures that which we can only feel with no effort on the part of the subject. He takes a traditional "snap shot" of a place and time and infuses it with the emotion of the moment. My review is super late, but I had to make sure I wrote a review for Eric. He is AMAZING!! If you're looking for someone who is not just an incredible photographer but basically an event planner as well, look no further! Eric blew us away with his wealth of knowledge of various wedding and reception venues that were within our budget, but he also spoke with some of the reception venues for us to help us coordinate our event. What other photographer do you know will do that for you without charging you extra for their time? The entire process was simple and laid out so their were no surprises. What I liked most was that he asked that we make a list of people/groups we wanted photos of so that we were all prepared for the day without taking away from the rest of the activities that go along with a wedding and reception. The day just seemed to flow perfectly and without stress. He kept in contact with us almost every day before our wedding to ensure there was nothing we needed and/or nothing he could assist us with. His pictures are beautiful and capture the essence of every moment of our special day. He is fun, full of energy, and knows just how to rein in a crowd! Eric Roland is simply the best. I had a three hour fashion photo shoot with him in Santa Barbara that featured three separate locations and outfits. The shoot was awesome and possibly the best I have ever done. Eric was a easy and fun to work with and his approach motivated me to be myself and I found that I had a positive flow going that was highly feminine and creative. He had unique ideas and introduced me to several new types of posing, yet I still was in motion, so he was very much capturing candid images. I live on the other side of the country, but I will indeed make it back to Southern California and when I do, we will shoot again. In addition, I felt Eric was also very professional with top of the line equipment, punctuality, and feel he has a pleasant, yet driven demeanor that did not feel like pressure and felt more like positive energy. When I turn to see Eric there I KNOW we are going to have some amazing shots. We wanted a photographer to capture our Santa Barbara courthouse elopement and did I hit the jackpot in finding Eric. First of all he responded quickly and was glad to answer every question I had. He was so affordable, flexible, accommodating and just a super nice guy to work with. He became more then just our photographer, coordinating with our florist and officiant and since we had never been to Santa Barbara offered recommendations on everything from restaurants for our after wedding dinner to music venues and places of interest during our stay there. But the absolute best part was the photo session at the courthouse and absolutely fabulous pictures. I don't like taking pictures but he made the experience such a great time. He knew the perfect spots to capture our special day at the courthouse. We got married in the Mural Room and I was concerned the dim lighting would be a problem. But or ceremony pictures were some of the best ones. The time it took for him to edit our pictures was not long at all. And the quality was top notch. He even took a few pics on his iPhone, edited them and emailed them to us a few hours after our session so we could show a sneak peek of our wedding on facebook!
