The staff is amazing from the business side of things all the way to the cleanliness of the facility. The nurses and aides are all amazing! I felt like I could talk to anyone of them and have a problem resolved. My dad became family there, he cried when he left! If we ever need a care facility in the future, this is where we want to be!

My loved one has lost "ALL" their clothes more than once. During the summer time the flies are unbearable, the flies out number the patients 100 to1. I have never seen any activities done but heard of a few times the painted a picture. Bingo is the only thing they offer regularly. There is a lady who does hair but every month she ups her prices. My loved one went 2 weeks without the staff washing their hair. I call to check on my loved one and the phone rings for 20 minutes and then you have to leave a message for the nurse to call you back in which she never does. I have been on the phone with my Loved one when staff was using the hoyer lift. My loved one was scramming in pain but the staff never stops to ask what was wrong and when asked why they did stop to ask what was hurting; their reply was they did not want to interrupt the patient's conversation. I have seen other patients sitting in soiled clothes to the point of leaving puddles of urine on the floor. My loved on has a rash that looks likes raw liver; they are in so much pain they cry!!!! ALWAYS UNDER STAFFED; I was told by a few employees that their corporate office will not allow more staff on the floor and sending the patients to the hospital. Corporate wants everything done in house (affects scores). Staff does not understand dementia, staff blackmail patients to attempt to make the patients behave. Staff asks for the patients' food. Our loved one deserves to have dignity and respect. I truly believe inmates are treated better than the patients at Midwestern Healthcare Center. I want to knowledge there are a few staff members who do a great job with what they have. But are in the shadows of the majority. This is not even all that I have witness.

I feel the patients and hours and pay and benefits are good but the schedule sucks and the staff is straight up gutter trash. Worked there 8 months and didn't even get a call when I quit. Texted my boss 6 times and never got a response the only time he replies is if he wants in your pants. They love to act like you commit crimes and write you up for the most petty stuff and if you plan on making friends good luck with that. Unless your 20. Only got a star because 1 is required.

Recently, I was admitted to North Texas State Hospital for Major Depressive Disorder…read more I have been admitted to other nearby hospitals that specialize in behavioral and mental health, so I thought I knew what to expect. The admissions process wasn't terribly long, but it was a bit longer and more thorough than the other hospitals' admission processes. After being officially admitted, the staff drove me to the next building (it's a campus, sort of), I was shown around the wing that I belonged in. In my room, there were two other beds, besides my own. I had a closet for my belongings (that the staff locked, so that my belongings were safe). It was not a hassle to have the staff unlock my closet. The pillow given to me was new and it had my name on it. The "day room" had a television set and an area to play card games and use stationery items. The other gathering area is where the radio was played. Patients were able to ask for a specific station, unless the music was triggering for other patients. The dining room was downstairs. There were 2-3 large cafeteria tables (similar to those seen in public school cafeterias). There were also two more-solitary tables for patients to choose from, in case they needed more proximity from others. The food was more than adequate and I gained at least 2 pounds (which was a positive, for me) while I was there. By the time I was discharged, I had less of an appetite for processed junk foods - because my taste buds had become accustomed to healthier foods. A nutritionist spoke to me about my nutritional needs and preferences. Double portion is offered, at their discretion. -- The staff at North Texas State Hospital were more professional and attentive to my mental health needs than any other hospital I've been admitted to. My treatment team met with me twice, during my 7-day stay. Psychiatrist, social worker, psychologist, and others. There were also registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, medical doctors, and psychiatric nurses' assistants. During my stay, there were classes to attend. When I was given an orientation, I chose which classes best suit my educational and recreational needs. The rehabilitation specialists were the teachers, I believe. My psychiatrist prescribed medication, which I began taking on my second day. Within two days of medication, I began to have genuine hope for my life again. (Your Mileage May Vary - AKA - each patient's experience is different.) After I adjusted to my medication to the point that I was able to re-join society (happily, at that), the discharge process began. Thank you to the staff of North Texas State Hospital.
